For some reason, my mind chooses to break your simple question into parts. How is the weather - does he mean at my home in West Virginia (it snowed on Monday) or my home away from home on Oak Island, North Carolina where my novels are set (always beautiful, especially when I have my toes in the water, keister in the sand). Out there? Often my mind is "out there" where the weather is either fuzzy with a chance of meltdown, or Doppler radar shows intense jocularity approaching. Stand back, he's gonna blow!(less)

Actually I am reading four and writing one. I am on chapter seventeen (first draft) of a new novel. And thank you for the writer's luck. I need all I can get!

Candace Lance,
Thanks for the friend invite. Congratulations on your books and writer's luck on your next short story or novel. I take it when you said you were juggling four books you meant reading three and writing one.
Happy reading and writing,

Good luck with your writing, and I hope chapter 14 is as beautiful as the rest of your chapters! (you're very welcome by the way!)

Lance Carney I woke up thinking about polliwog (thank you Raneem!) so I am going to use it as part of the heading of chapter 14 I will be writing today. I will work it into the story somehow. I am off work for four days so I plan on writing furiously.

Aardvark, doohickey, pollywog.. what an outlandish array of words! I never knew words like this even existed!

Thank you Majenta! I am glad you found this comment because I am actually using the mantis shrimp in the book I am writing now and I couldn't remember who had messaged me about it. Isn't Goodreads wonderful to help us connect with like-minded souls! My love of reading led to my love of writing; I don't know when I get more excited, when I read a good book or have a good day of writing! Hope you have a fantastic holiday weekend.

Majenta Hello, Lance! Thank you for contacting me! Congratulations on your books, and I like the way you answered the questions! Happy reading, writing, and everything else! Have a great weekend and week ahead. Blessings!

Best wishes from Majenta

Lance Carney I have never heard of the Mantis Shrimp so I had to look it up. Capable of breaking through aquarium glass with a single strike! Awesome. Thanks for "learning" me. I am actually sitting down to start the first chapter of my third Oak Island book. Can I include the Mantis Shrimp in the story? It would be my way of apologizing for my faux pas (plus I am always looking for new animals and sea creatures to make it more interesting).

Stomatopods rule!

✘✘ Sarah ✘✘ (former Nefarious Breeder of Murderous Crustaceans) With all due respect to Jimmy Buffet, silly pink crustaceans suck. My crustaceans are of the multicoloured, deadly kind, so please do not insult me.

All Hail the Mantis Shrimp!
