The Best Young Adult Books of September

Posted by Marie on September 1, 2019
As dedicated readers already know, some of the best and most innovative stories on the shelves come from the constantly evolving realm of young adult fiction. Every month our team takes a look at the books being published and how they're resonating with early readers. We use this information to put together a roundup of soon-to-be favorites.

September brings a particularly interesting batch of new books, featuring tales of California kids in a jam, hunted witches on the lam, and a story of a parallel-universe America where monarchy still reigns. Also: sentient houses, gravedigger romance, and the impending Age of Darkness. You know, that sort of thing.

Add the books that catch your eye to your Want to Read shelf, and let us know what you're reading and recommending in the comments!

What does a "Chosen One" do after saving the day? Take a vacation, of course. Joined by his best friend and the love of his life, Simon Snow goes on a good ol' American road trip. Monstrous trouble ensues in this charming sequel to Carry On.
