Good girls don’t break rules—but for one night with him, any risk was worth it.

Walker St. Claire is my older brother’s best friend and strictly off limits. Especially while he’s an Initiate during his Trials to gain entrance to the secret society.

But after a lifetime of following the rules and being the good girl everyone expected me to be, I’m ready to break a few. Especially if it means Walker will finally turn his devilish gaze my way.

When he sees me at one of the secret society parties, at first he tries to get me thrown out. Until circumstances and his own needs force us together. I finally get what I’ve always craved—his hands on me. I drop to my knees before him, and finally, he stops seeing me as just his best friend’s pesky little sister.

One taste was never going to be enough. But when I go back for seconds, I’m suddenly caught in a web more dangerous than I ever knew.

Because a girl’s gone missing.
And I’ve been chosen to continue on at Walker’s side as her replacement.

"Secret society, secret sins, where every dark fantasy lives. Welcome to the Oleander Mansion…"

The six and final book in the series it is Walker St. Claire who's Initiation for membership to the Order of the Silver Ghost is going just as planned, assuring his inheritance would be passed to me and guarantee my political future, and eventually the seat as governor of Georgia.

But things take a dramatic turn when Walker recognised one of the naked pearls wearing Belle to be no other than his best friend, Sully VanDoren, who had previously failed his own initiation into the Silver Order of the Ghosts, barely legal sister, Jasmine VanDoren.
Walker claims her as his Belle for the night and sends her home afterwards, but Jasmine returns the next night, only fails to leave the next morning and manages to get kidnapped and forced to partake in the sick, nefarious games of the Order.

Walker and Jasmine submit to the outrageous and heinous trials the sick elders come up with, being the only way Walker can make sure he is the only one to touch and claim Jasmine.
While subjugating to the sick games, they gather information to try and bring down the order and put a stop to it all. “Don’t let them take your power. Stop the cycle. It ends with you.”

Told in dual POV alternating between Jasmine and Walker, it's evident how disgusted these two are with the twisted and depraved games of the elders but feel like they have no choice other than to just comply.
I was very disappointed with how things came to a halt, for me the best part was hastily wrapped up. I wanted more, so much more. I was looking forward to profound humiliations, some arrests and Sully being the ultimate victor.

Breaking Belles Comes To A Fitting Conclusion! Walker & Jasmine’s Dark Romance Is Full Of Angsty Tension. It Is About Tradition & Secrets. When Sully’s Little Sister Gets Caught At The Oleander, She Gets Pulled Into Their Deprived Games. Moral Compasses Are Tested As The Pair Endure Grueling Trials, But Whether They Make It To The End Or Not Is The Real Question.

ABOUT THIS BOOK:

This book is the sixth and final book in the Breaking Belles series. A number of characters are introduced in the first book and the set-up is complex, so I have summarized it here to serve as a quick reference.

The series includes:
1. Elegant Sins (Montgomery & Grace)
2. Beautiful Lies (Sully & Portia)
3. Opulent Obsession (Rafe & Fallon; Rafe’s story overlaps with Beau’s)
4. Inherited Malice (Beau and Consuela/Abilene; Beau’s story overlaps with Rafe’s)
5. Delicate Revenge (Emmett & Bellamy’s story)
6. Lavish Corruption (Walker & Jasmine’s story)

Darlington County, Georgia is home to the state’s most affluent men and steeped in Southern charm and tradition. The historic Oleander Manor is home to tradition that goes back generations. It is owned by the Order of the Silver Ghost, a society of powerful and influential men. They don’t frown upon inviting new money to join, though their ranks are filled with old. These men represent sin, lies, and obsession. The atmosphere at the manor drips with malice, revenge, and corruption. They are blue-blood, and they pass their dark lifestyle on from one generation to the next. They operate under a law book, and ten Elders lead them through their various ceremonies and rituals.

As the story opens in book one, six recruits into the Order of the Silver Ghost are gathered at the manor. All are graduates of Darlington Preparatory Academy seven years ago. All work for their fathers. All turn twenty-five this year – the year that they become eligible to become members of the Order. Once they earn membership and the key passing ceremony takes place, the laws dictate that they take the reins of their family empires. All are committed to doing whatever it takes to maintain their wealth and continue the blue-blood legacy. Growing up, they had been permitted to participate in certain trials and events as spectators, so they have some ideas as to what to expect. They are all nervous, wondering if the trials will change them forever. It begins with a Ghost Ball, where a belle is chosen by the recruit and approved by the Order. In the following 109 days, the recruit is hunkered in at Oleander with his belle. During that time, the Order works to break her.

Montgomery Kingston is the guest of honor for the evening in book one. It is his Trial of Initiation. He is the first of the group’s graduating class to turn twenty-five and go through the trials. He is a pretty boy and loves his mama. He was captain of the football team, top of his class, and has worked tirelessly to grow the family business. He is listed in Forbes as one of the wealthiest men under the age of thirty. His father is one of the Elders of the Order. As such, Montgomery is expected to help run the Order one day.

Sully VanDoren is next to go through the trials. His Trial of Initiation is in book two. He doesn’t buy into the tradition. He hates anything to do with high society and Southern charm, so it isn’t surprising that he left Darlington years ago. Pessimistic and unhappy to be forced to participate, he reluctantly goes along because he will do what it takes to get the keys to his father’s kingdom.

Rafe Jackson’s Trial of Initiation takes place in book three. He doesn’t want to waste his time with the trials. He works the hardest in the group because his wealth is newer and not well-established. Keeping among the ranks of the wealthy is a daily struggle. He is stubborn and the most driven of the group. He will stop at nothing to be amongst his peers and in the Order. He did not grow up in the halls of the Oleander like his friends had. His family is new to the Order. Though this is how Rafe is originally described, it does not perfectly reflect his character as it unfolds in his book, Opulent Obsession.

Beau Radcliffe is the fourth recruit. Not much is known about him prior to his story in book four, though he does make some appearances in book three and is probably more cold and detached than his friends. Beau was raised by his father and spent much of his youth in the halls of the Oleander, having lost his mother to cancer when he was young. He works for his father in the jewel business and has already begun taking over, and is excited to finally have the chance to become a member of the Order himself. He doesn’t let on to that, though, because emotions make a man weak. He likes to play things cool and close to the vest. His entire life is carefully controlled and diligently planned out.

Emmett Washington is a busy man, and attending Order gatherings is a waste of his precious time. He is similar to Rafe. He considers the trials to be a sick tradition. He is from new money and works hard to keep and increase that money. His father joined the Order over a decade ago. Though this is how Emmett is originally described, it does not perfectly reflect his character as it unfolds in his book, Delicate Revenge.

Walker St. Claire is much like Montgomery. He was born and raised to be a Southern gentleman. Both men have swagger. Walker’s father is one of the Elders of the Order, and he plays a small role in books three, four, and five. Like Montgomery, Walker is expected to help run the Order one day.

A few issues merit mention. Although no overarching scheme is shared, it appears there could possibly be an end goal relating to the Order. Book two confirms that Montgomery has plans, but hopes to eventually make change from the inside with the help of his friends. Additionally, the initiation lasts 109 days, the length of which is explained in book two. 109 represents the Oleander’s street address. Since the men involved work for their fathers, and the women are dirt poor and desperate, the timeline conceivably works. But the majority of the time is spent in between events, which appear to be held mostly on the weekends. There doesn’t seem to be any reason for the couple to remain during the week. A two-week intensive initiation, for example, might make more sense. Moreover, if the Order indeed sees the belles as non-marriageable, then it does not make sense for the men to spend so much time alone with a woman they are not expected to ever respect or love. So much time together, alone, breaks down barriers and encourages attachment. That said, in Delicate Revenge, it is explained that part of the test is psychological, and withstanding the boredom and monotony of those 109 days is thus part of the initiation. Next, the open request given to the belles feels odd – certainly there should be some limits set. Finally, unless the recruits have overlapping initiations, it is not possible for them all to be initiated on their twenty-fifth birthdays. Since these six men were classmates, it would make sense that their birthdays all fall within the same year following the cutoff date for kindergarten registration in Georgia, which has long been September first. The overlap begins with books three and four. Five and six are set to overlap as well, but as it is laid out in book five, they do not. Both Emmett’s and Walker’s dates don’t line up within the year that they were all to have turned twenty-five. Emmett began school in California, and it looks like the cut-off date might have been December 1 at the time, so his timeline still works. Walker is born and raised in Georgia, so his date doesn’t appear to make sense if he was meant to be in the same grade as his friends. Dates of the Trials of Initiation thus far include:

Montgomery Kingston: Saturday, September 16 – January 2.
Sullivan VanDoren: Saturday, January 18 – May 6.
Rafe Jackson: Saturday, May 10 – August 26 (but he leaves a little early).
Beau Radcliffe: Saturday, July 5 – October 21.
Emmett Washington: Saturday, October 23 – February 8.
Walker St. Claire: not specified, but during the following summer

IN THIS BOOK:

Over three months passed from the end of Emmett’s trials to the epilogue in book five, which was written in Walker’s POV. It was one week prior to Emmett’s wedding, so it was roughly May 21. Walker’s own initiation was about to begin. One and a half months later, his Belle, Sarah, snuck out of the Oleander in the middle of the night, quitting, which left Walker in jeopardy of not passing.

As this book opens, it is summer. Walker’s Belle is now named Cindy and instead of being one and a half months into his Trials, he has just three weeks remaining. There is no attempt to reconcile the difference between the epilogue and the opening of this story, so I would suggest you disregard the details given in book five’s epilogue.

Walker St. Claire, presumably twenty-five, is a traditionalist. He expects to sail through his Trials of Initiation into the Order. It is a right of passage, one that goes back generations in his family. He has been groomed for this, the Initiation, and the political career that will follow. The powerful men that belong to the Order will open doors for him and ensure his future success. He grew up playing in the halls of the Oleander under the watchful eye of Mrs. Hawthorne, so he is comfortable in the lavish surroundings. He enjoys all the kink as well. His friends all fell in love with their Belles, but that was never going to be a problem for Walker. He needs a wife with an untarnished reputation – a requirement for a politician – so a Belle is out of the question. The fact that he and Cindy have nothing in common makes it easy for him to keep that decision. He feels nothing for her.

Jasmine VanDoren, nineteen, was raised in the southern way. She participated in the pageant circuit and knows how to behave in polite society. She has just finished her freshman year at Emery. Once she finishes her MBA, she will be ready to take over the family business. Her older brother Sully lost the inheritance when he failed to become a member of the Order. He had wanted nothing to do with the outdated group, but he had gone through the motions for his sister’s sake. She had aspired to take over their late father’s business, but the Order surprised everyone when they were less than forgiving of Sully. Now, Jasmine and her mother try to cover up their poverty from the public, but they can barely make it by. Sully’s good friend Montgomery, a Society member, has stepped up and taken over the business to hold it in trust until Jasmine is ready to take the reigns herself. While his intentions are good, it is not enough. By the time Jasmine takes control, both the company and the family will be beyond saving. Mrs. VanDoren has decided that Jasmine must marry for money, sooner rather than later, and toward that end, has commenced her matchmaking efforts. Jasmine knows she has little choice, but the idea is abhorrent. She needs to get away from the stifling plans – she needs a night of freedom.

When Jasmine drives by the storied Oleander, she does something wild and crazy. She pulls up to the building only to be mistaken for a Belle. She had heard of the rumors, but she never believed they could be true. When she finds herself naked in front of the most powerful men in the county, it is Walker St. Claire – her brother’s friend – who comes to her rescue. He warns her that the consequences of her deception will be dire if she is discovered, and he tries his best to save her, but she doesn’t escape before being paired with him for the evening. Truly out of her mind, she goes again the next evening, never anticipating that her stay will be involuntarily extended.

When Jasmine returns for a second night of sin, Walker is both thrilled and angered. He feels connected to Jasmine like no other, but he knows she has no business being there. He wants to protect her reputation and keep the eyes of the members away from her. But when Cindy suddenly goes missing, protecting Jasmine takes on a new meaning. The Elders have chosen her as his new Belle, and her identity is no longer a secret. He is willing to quit to protect her, but with her family business at stake, she wants to see it through. The Initiations are dark and dangerous, and both must ask themselves how much they are willing to risk for the reward.

Walker and Jasmine’s story brings Breaking Belles to a fitting conclusion. Their story is dark, and it may be triggering to some. There is a lot of kink, but for those following the series, it falls in line with expectations. Mr. Walker has been a bit of a handful in some of the previous books, and here we get to see him interact with his son. There are revelations in this book, but nothing too surprising.

There are a few issues that merit mention. First, as mentioned earlier, the timeline in the epilogue of book five does not match up with this book. Second, this makes the friends’ Initiations run the course of two years, which doesn’t make sense since they were all in the same grade together and the Initiations begin when they turn twenty-five. Third, there is no invitation for Walker’s Trials – not in the epilogue of book five nor in this book. While not required, it feels unfinished since the others all had an invite included. Fourth, as noted above, Sarah had been Walker’s Belle in the epilogue of book five and she fled in the middle of the night; here Cindy is the Belle and she suffers a medical emergency. Fifth, an Initiation passes without Cindy, but the next evening, when another is about to begin, there is suddenly concern about how there can be an event without Walker’s Belle. Sixth, Mrs. Hawthorne behaves out of character here. It works to advance the plot, but I didn’t care for it. Seventh, it is rather shocking how callously the Order members behave towards their former friend’s family. You would think they would be supportive of one another, even after death. Certainly, their friend would be turning over in his grave. Eighth, Jasmine never receives the required medical exam and birth control – kind of important. Ninth, it is said that the Trials are becoming progressively more dark and dangerous. I don’t really buy that, having read the previous books. My impression is that girls have long gone missing, and danger has always been a factor. That Jasmine got a little extra was not entirely a surprise since she entered the Trials with just three weeks remaining.

Walker and Jasmine’s dark romance is full of angsty tension as the series comes to a conclusion. It is about tradition and secrets. Sully’s little sister should be forbidden to Walker – and she has no business in a place like the Oleander. But when she gets caught up in the Order’s secrets, she gets pulled into their deprived games. It is a test of her endurance, and at her young age, it is a lot. Walker has waited his entire life to become a member, but when Jasmine steps in as his Belle, he begins to question his priorities. Moral compasses are tested as the pair endure grueling Trials, but whether they make it to the end or not is the real question. Fans will be happy that new Order members Montgomery Kingston, Rafe Jackson, Beau Radcliffe, and Emmett Washington have small roles in this book. The story is written in first person. The POV alternates between Walker's and Jasmine’s POV. I rate this book four stars.

For two blue bloods, Walker and Jasmine, are caught in their own web when it comes to The Order of the Silver Ghost. Neither of them want to necessarily be among the debauchery, but neither of them want to quit either. They are among the top of their social circle, never let them see you sweat, so backing out is just not heard of.

What I liked about this final book in the Breaking Belles series, is that it picks up towards the end of Walkers trial. With every other book in this series, it began with all the pomp and circumstance of picking a belle and some of the monotony of hanging around the large estate waiting to see what horrible task would be asked of them next. With Walker and Jasmine we, as the reader, were thrown right into the mix and this time it really does help to have a background in the series leading into this book. It really kept the book moving so I really liked jumping right in since we've lived the beginning with the other couples, but that is my own personal preference.

In this book we also get a new belle. Jasmine is an entirely different breed all together. She is Sullivan's sister, a blue blood herself, and should never have been a belle, but she's a bit of a rebel by night and debutant by day. Her fiery spirit is different in a whole new way, but was very fitting for this particular book.

Lavish Corruption kept this storyline fresh, while still keeping with the theme of the perverse trials within this secret society going. However, while breaking free from many of the traditions set up to this point, this final book was a perfect way to end this lushly rich and decadent series.

Lavish Corruption: A Dark Secret Society Romance (Breaking Belles #6) by Alta Hensley and Stasia Black. I was so excited when I was offered this book. I absolutely loved the previous 5 books. I hadn't read the synopsis, so I didn't know what to expect. Boy, oh boy!! I got more than I had expected. Walker is going through his trials with his belle. They are on the same page and he can see the end of the road. Unlike his friends previously who have passed, he has no emotional connection to his belle. Jasmine is home for the summer from business school. All she wants to do is take over the family business. Her brother Sully quit when he was going through his trial, which has
left a black eye on the family name. Bored, Jasmine finds herself at the Oleander Mansion during the trials. Being someplace she knows she has no business being she finds herself caught up in something that will not only ruin her reputation but she will not be able to take her place in the company. When she runs into Walker, Jasmine makes a conscious decision to play with fire. This was definitely the best book in the series. Loved both Walker and Jasmine. This book was sicker, more depraved, and more deadlier than the previous books. An all round good story that, by the end, I was cheering and had a smile on my face. 5 stars for me. I'm so sorry to see this series come to an end. Hopefully, this duo will come up with another series. Fingers crossed.

I’ve been with the Breaking Belles series since book 1 so I know how depraved this people can get. Walker’s story is LAVISH CORRUPTION and really drives home the shackles of the family legacies attached to The Oleander.

This story is different because of how Jasmine ends up being Walker’s replacement Belle. Her brother is Sully, the only guy that refused to finish the trials and was, as far as southern society was concerned, an outcast. He lost his rights to the family business which will pass to Jasmine, but they are trying to marry her off instead of letting her run it.

It becomes clear there is some taste by the Elder’s - Walker’s father specifically - to make an example of the consequences of Sully’s defiance through his sister. Walker’s dad is one sick dude.

The story is about carrying out these Trials and they are every bit as debauched and depraved as previous initiations with us wondering how Jasmine will survive the intensity. Great finish to series I really enjoyed.

Oh my the last one was more full of sick games and a tad darker then the rest. The Elders are out to punish Sully for leaving the trials through his sister Jasmine. Jasmine is one hell of a character. She may not have the full belle trail but what she had to do was pretty dark. She stood strong though. Walker’s dad is so disgusting. He makes my skin crawl.

Glad the boys finally came together and Mrs. H finally realized how sick the whole thing had become.

Great ending to the series. I couldn’t put it down read till it was done. And you know on the back of your mind there is a club out there just as evil and disgusting .

The final book in the Breaking Belles series is finally here. Completely different than previous books in the series.

The Order of the Silver Ghost is a secret order that requires its heirs to participate in The Trials of Initiation when they turn 25.

The order finds girls that are from the wrong side of the tracks and offers them their hearts desire if they succeed in the initiation.

The elders of the Order have lost their minds. When Walker's current Belle disappears they replace her with Jasmine VanDoren a socialite. The order takes her hostage and makes her complete the trials.

Lavish Corruption is a fantastic read. I loved this one so much. I loved the Breaking Belles series and this one will give you everything you want and then some. Finally we get to Walker's story. You are just going to love how his trails go. Newly minted Jasmine just shows what it takes for a Southern bell to become one of the Belles. The Order may just have met their match with these two. I love the chemistry between Jasmine and Walker. This is one you will not be able to put down. Walker and Jasmine make a great team along with Mrs. H in dealing with the Order. I could not get enough of this one as everything starts to play out. If you haven't had a chance to read the Breaking Belles series yet you need to binge read and see what dirty little trails you are missing out on.

Lavish Corruption was seductive, scandalous, and enthralling!
Alta and Stasia have given us a very satisfying completion to these Breaking Belle stories and the dangerous men who control and rule over Oleander Manor and the Order of the Silver Ghost. These Elders do not know what they have created when they lured and captured Jasmine in their sinful games. And Walker, a very handsome southern gentleman, was following a specific path that was set in stone for him even before he was born, become a member of the Order and become the Governor. He has never strayed from that path until Jasmine entered the picture, and he was immediately infatuated and drawn to her.
This final book was sensational but I am so sad it is over.

Rollercoaster of a ride. Twisted and oh so good.
This book depicts an increasingly depraved secret society, but, wow, how the authors give it life is stunning.

I especially enjoyed Jasmine's spunky attitude as she and Walter proceed through the trials, where they discover new truths as they learn the tradition of Oleander Manor lbeing the house of debauchery and sin.

The entire time I found myself wondering how it was all going to work out and rooting for a HEA. It is easy to see how problematic that could be in their unrealistic manufactured Southern society where appearances trump all.

Such a fitting end to this series.

Walker is the last of his group to seek initiation into the Oleander Society and I am so sad that this series is over but I am glad Mrs Hawthorne ensured the end of the Society. Jasmine “accidentally” got involved and was put in a horrendous position. The debauchery was beyond anything seen before but fortunately Walker and Jasmine prevailed. This is a story that will make you cringe and hold your breath in fear but it will also make you cheer and the epilogue was so satisfying I loved every word and will miss the initiates.

Great story that had elements of dark and suspenseful moments. When Jasmine get curious about what happens at the Oleander, she gets caught and thrown in as a Belle. When Walker recognizes Jasmine as his friends sister, he tries to warn her off but she ends up being his Belle. The read on what happens to this couple was thrilling yet deep when they were handed crazy tasks to do so there was never a dull moment.

I loved this series so much. I know that secret society romance is a tough sell, but truly these books were awesome. Each one accelerated, although I will say I've had my favorites. This one was good not because of the intimate scenes but because of the closure and intrigue. Finally we get answers to some things, the weak are empowered, and those who truly deserve it are set free. It's sad to see the end, but she certainly wrapped it up beautifully. Not everyone has a gift for laying out the pieces, matching them up, and ensuring nothing conflicts through such a lengthy process. She is never lazy in her writing and after a recent negative reading experience I truly value that about her. Every intimate scene, every trial for each book, was unique and scorching. Her creativity is crazy!

Ok, yes I'm a huge fan. And just so grateful for a dark romance author that delivers consistent amazing stuff. Can't wait for the next project!.

I was soooooo disappointed. Especially after seeing the overall raiting for this book. Maybe it had such a good raiting since there isn’t many people who actually read this book.

The spicy scenes were definitely very spicy in this book, but who cares! Any spicy book will have some level of spice. This book frustrated me to no end. Basically since the moment Jasmine became a belle, she was raped for the rest of the book! Yes she was ok with Walker having sex with her but she did not have a say in what was happening to her and she did not want others ever being involved. She was blackmailed with having her entire life and her mother’s life destroyed if she doesn’t comply to all the acts and trials. That is basically rape!!!!!

This is Walker and Jasmine story. The story is fast paced engrossing and beautifully written with extraordinary characters and twisty storyline that grabs your attention and keeps you hooked and on the edge of your seat with it's non-stop twists and turns and suspense. Walker St. Claire is twenty-five years old with political aspirations of being the next governor. He needs a wife with an immaculate reputation a requirement that is suitable for a politician. Therefore, a Belle is out of the question. He's paired with Cindy but he doesn't have anything in common with her this makes his decision much easier. As he feels nothing for her.
Jasmine VanDoren is nineteen years old and is home from college after completing her freshman year at Emery. She's raised in the southern ways and as a debutant to be polite. Jasmine brother Sully was invited to join The Order but lost his inheritance after his failure to become a member. He didn't want to anything to do with the outdated group and evil old men. Since losing his place in the Order the family business as suffered and the family as fallen on hard times. Jasmine wants to take over the family business but by the time she's done with her MBA they won't be nothing left of the business. Mrs. VanDoren wants her to marry for wealth and has started looking for qualified candidates. Jasmine knows what's required of her and has always been a good girl who follows the rules. But she's tired of all the planning and just wants to cut loose for one night.
She had heard stories of what goes on at the Oleander Manor before. She did something crazy and out of character. She pull up at the Oleander only to be mistaken for a Belle. She was dressed to nine when she found herself naked and in front of Walker St. Claire, her brother's best friend the man who she had been crushing on for as long as she can remember. He saved her before the sexual deviant could get to her. At first he was mad and tried to get her thrown out. But the Elders discovered that she was there so she had to participate. She had wanted a long time for Walker to turn his devious smile on her and stop looking at her as his best friend's little sister. She finally got what she had always craved and wanted his hands on her body. Walker was shock see Jasmine in the trials but as much as he wanted her out, he wanted her just as much. Craving more of the danger she snuck back in next night and got more than she bargain for. When a girl goes missing and she's paired with Walker for the duration of his trial.
Everything was going according to plan for Walker in trials until Cindy missing. Jasmine is rebel and doesn't have any business playing the game because she's not a Belle, if word got out she will never be able to take over her company because it would ruin her reputation. Walker is told next trial is about to begin and he's face to face with Jasmine. They must work together complete the trial. Jasmine must accomplish what her brother fail to complete and her earn her rights to her family business. Walker and Jasmine form a bond together as each day they go through the trials passes. Walker is very protective of Jasmine and wants to keep her safe and away from the others. He's even willing to quit and give up his dreams to protect. But wit her family business at stake Jasmine must stay in trials and see it through the end. It trials gets rough but they have each other's back with danger, and secrets at every turn in the Manor. Walker and Jasmine chemistry is electrifying and scorching they burn the pages up and melt my kindle.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Good girls don't break rules-but for one night with him, any risk was worth it. Walker St. Claire is my older brother's best c and strictly off limits. Especially while he's an initiate during the Trials to gain entrance to the secret society. But after a lifetime of following the rules and being the good girl everyone expected me to be, I'm ready to break a few. Especially if it means Walker will finally turn his devilish gaze my way. When he sees me at one of the secret society parties, at first he tries to get me thrown out. Until circumstances and his own needs force us together. I finally get what I've always craved-his hands on me. I drop to my knees before him and finally, he stops seeing me as just his best friend's pesky little sister. Ones taste was never going to be enough. But when I go back for seconds, I'm suddenly caught in the web more dangerous than I ever knew. Because a girl's gone missing. And I've been chosen to continue on at Walker's side as his replacement.

This is the last book in the Breaking Belles Series and I have to say that all the books have been amazing and I am really sad to see this series end. I have loved each and every story and the story of Walker and Jasmine will hook you from the beginning of the book and not lay it down until you are finished. Walker is in the middle of his trials with his Belle Cindy. All of his friends have come out of these trials with the woman of their dreams madly in love but that hasn't happened for Walker. He is going to have a career in politics just like his father and the society can really help that career or hurt it if you don't have there backing. But he never in a million years expects to see his best friends sister standing in pearls during one of the parties at the Oreander. Jasmine is home from college for the summer and she is here to rest and recoup from the college year but her mom has other ideas. The time has come for her to marry well because they are in dire financial straits. But being the southern belle she is her mom is not about to let anyone know that their situation is dire. However the last time Jasmine wants to do is get married. Since Sully failed the trials and isn't a member of the society it has fallen on her to take over the family business and make it a success but her mom thinks a woman can't do it and needs a husband to run the business. Upset and restless in the middle of the night she goes for a drive and happens upon the drive for Oreander and while she has heard what goes on there she has to witness it for herself but gets caught and they think she is a Belle there for a party. Now she finds herself in a mess but Walker St. Claire jsut might be her savior but he can't get her out in time. So it is a night for them that she never in a million years dreamed would happen. She should have left and never looked back but being with Walker is a dream come true for her and she does the same thing again. Only this time she won't be leaving as the Elders know she is there and they are going to make her Walker's Belle. The trials are hard and they are going to need each other is they are going to make it through but things are not like they were originally when the order was created. Things are darker and more sinister and there are huge secrets being kept. Can Walker and Jasmine make it out of the trials or will things take a desperate turn and they find themselves in a situation they never thought they would be in. But the most important question is will they walk out of there together or is it just not meant to be. Well you have to read to find out. I absolutely loved Walker and Jasmine. I loved the story they had to tell. They way they were when they were around each other. Walker is fiercely protective of Jasmine and she is willing to do anything to help him. They are amazing characters both separately and when they are around each other the sparks are flying and the chemistry is off the charts. This is a book that you do not want to miss. If you haven't read the other books in this series I highly recommend those to you too.

Lavish Corruption: A Dark Secret Society of Alta Hensley and Stasia Black is the sixth book in the Breaking Belles series, and this time it is the story of Walker St. Claire, we begin the story with Walker in the middle of his initiation into the Order of the Silver Ghost, which for him is the step that he must take by birthright and because this brotherhood will facilitate his political career, right in the middle of one of his trials, where he must complete the test, he thinks he sees a familiar face and when he goes to investigate he realizes that it is not that he imagine but that it is actually Jasmine VanDoren within the walls of Oleander Manor, and that is definitely not the place for her, not only because she is a woman from the powerful families of Darlington but because she is the sister of one of his best friends. But Jasmine has no idea what situation she has gotten herself into, since she only went out for a walk to take her mind off her mother's pressures and ended up on the Oleander grounds and out of sheer curiosity now finds herself in front of Walker St. Claire and risking his good name.
From here on the story gets more and more interesting and the characters face not only tests but also their beliefs and doubting everything that has surrounded them since they were born. Excellent story full of suspense, machinations, unexpected twists, power, and within all friendship and love. Totally recommended.
*Thanks to Alta Hensley, Stasia Black and Valentine PR & Literary Management for my ARC. I voluntarily leave my honest review*

Totalmente recomendada.

Lavish Corruptions is the final book in the Breaking Belles Interconnected Standalone Series. The Order of the Silver Ghosts, kingmakers and dream makers, have their dark, depraved and twisted ways, and unbeknownst to them, have met their match. I would recommend reading books in order to really have the full effect. These reads are packed with emotion that seeps into your soul as you go through the trials with the Initiate and Belle. This read grabs you by the throat from the first sentence and does not let up. I was so swept up in the conclusion of this series. And, Jasmine, she may be young, but she has a fierce warrior to fight alongside her. And, the Order is about to be the one to bow on their knees, giving their power over.

Walker St. Claire has three weeks left before completing the Initiation. So far, so good. His belle and he have no drama, no love match, no connection, just their goals to achieve.

Walker has political goals, so he would marry for connection, the perfectly groomed Southern belle. No secrets or dirty reputations.

And, he was content with how the trials were proceeding until his best friend's barely legal little sister walked in this den of depravity.

Jasmine VanDoren is home for the summer. She quickly realizes why her mother wanted that so when she announces it is time to secure her future and that of their family company…by getting married.

Having spent her life following all the rules she decides to live her life for her, just this once. She finds herself at the Oleander Mansion curious about what exactly happens during these parties. And, finds herself in the ballroom, draped in pearls, a mask, and nothing else.

Despite the mask, Walker recognizes her immediately.

Knowing the scandal that would arise if anyone outed her. But, the bang of the cane announces the beginning of the evening. Let the orgy begin.

Their connection is real.

But, the night and the initiation process take a major turn when Walker’s belle, Cindy, goes missing.

Jasmine is terrified of living her mother’s life. Decides one night of sin wasn’t enough and finds herself once more at the Mansion.

However, fate in the name of the Order is about to step in.

Walker is told the next Trial was about to begin. The Order found his replacement Belle. And, he comes face to face with Jasmine.

Jasmine must do what her brother Sullivan did not accomplish during his Initiation. She must earn her right to her family business.

A bond forms between them as each day and trial passes.

The Mansion holds so many secrets and the gatekeeper, Mrs. Hawthorne has just reached her breaking point.

Although I am a fan of Alta Hensley as my listings on Kindle will attest, this series has completely escaped my notice and I have no idea why. This is the last in the Breaking Belles series and I know have the pleasure ahead of starting with book one.

For those who have read the series, you will know it is set against the backdrop of the Oleander Manor and the evil machinations of the shadowy Order of the Silver Ghost, a sect whose prime motivation for it's rich and powerful members is to provide an increasingly dangerous sex cult.

The entry into this Order is a based on increasingly dubious and potentially dangerous acts. Pass and become a member and the young males are set for life. Keep the cults secrets and the world is yours.

Young innocent females are offered riches and a life out of their normal reach to become a Belle, basically serving the next generation of entitled males throughout an initiation process and a series of trials that gets increasingly dark, sick and bizarre.

This is the story of Walker - son a hugely powerful politician (who is also an elder in the cult) and Jasmine, herself the only daughter of a once wealthy, but still prestigious family that has fallen on hard financial times.

Just like the British aristocracy your family name is everything in the South, where ladies drink mint tea and fan themselves and the roguish men rule the patriarchy with an iron fist.

In a wish to escape the stifling confines of her family mansion, slowly crumbling without recourse to funds to fix it, our heroine Jasmine puts herself in the path of the Order with devastating results to both her and Walker.

I love Alta Hensley's writing, here sharing the honours with Stasia Black - and the plot, deliciously dark, doesn't disappoint. Some of the scenes are potentially triggering so check before you read - and there is a serious underlaying evil and sickness amongst the Elders that is stomach churning.

Having said that, I know what I signed up for and it's a page turner.

Why not 5 stars?

2 reasons. I found the Hero lacking in backbone and wanted him to stand up for the feisty Jasmine a lot more than he did and I also had great difficulty with the inner musings of each character. Too many 'Uhmms' which in fact we don't do as humans when we are thinking our own thoughts. It was unnecessary and weakened the narrative to my mind.

I will however be heading to Amazon to start at book 1 to see how this series developed. If you love dark (and let's face it I so do!) this is for you.

Lavish Corruption is the 6th and final book in the Breaking Belles Series. This book and series have been full of old kinky men that thrive in The Order of the Silver Ghost. It is a secret society and full of perversion and debauchery.

This is a rite of passage and if these young men can pass the initiation of 109 days, they will become a member of the secret society and the family business will then become the initiates business and their belle will get whatever they wish for.

This is Walker St. Claire and Jasmine VanDoren’s story.
Walker has political ambitions, and he needs a girl that is pure as snow and not one of the belles. He quickly changes his mind.

Jasmine sneaks into the Oleander (where the Order of the Silver Ghost meet). She certainly gets what she never bargained for. She is not supposed to be one of the belles but she got caught sneaking into the Oleander.

BTW Sully from Book #2 Beautiful Lies is Jasmine’s brother.

This is a very hawt book and same for the other books in this series. I am sad that this is the last book in the Breaking Belles series. Stasia Black and Alta Hensley co-wrote this series. I hope they get back together and write another series because this one has been sooo good.

You can easily read each of the books in the Breaking Belles series as standalones. But if you want to read these dark and sexy stories and get the full story then you need to go back and read the other books in the series.

If you love dark stories full of triggers, debauchery and perversion this is the series for you!

For those that need the order and titles of this series. Here you go.
Elegant Sins, book 1 - Montgomery Kingston and Grace Magnolia Morgan

Beautiful Lies, book 2 - Sullivan “Sully” VanDoren and Portia Collins

Opulent Obsession, book 3 - Rafe Jackson and Fallon Perry

Inherited Malice, book 4 - Beau Radcliff and Abilene West (or is that her name?)

Delicate Revenge, book 5 - Emmett Washington and Bellamy Carmichael

Lavish Corruption, book 6 - Walker St. Claire and Jasmine VanDoren

This book was a wild dark twisted ride!

This is the final book in the Breaking Belles series and while I haven't read the previous books in the series I did had a pretty good understanding of the plot of the whole series but now I'm intrigued and would like to start the series from the beginning.

Everything stars when Walker St. Claire is in the middle of his initiation into the secret society of The Order of the Silver Ghost, and basically everyone who is powerful and successful belongs to this society. Every potential member is assigned to a belle and together their task with different tests. But this secret society's tests are more of debaucheries and deprave sexual pleasures were the possible candidates need to perform sexual acts in front of the elder member of the order. The main focus is to break the belles but in return the belles can get any wish they want and the men in the tryouts can achieve success and power.

One night changes everything for Walker when he is away from his belle and instead he comes face to face with Jasmine VanDoren who is his best friend younger sister.

Jasmine is not a belle, she was born into privilege and a true blue blood. She has many expectations to follow but she feels trap and after her brother was cast out for not completing his initiation with the order all the family responsibilities falls in her, so she is expected to be marry with a man that has certain pedigree and can run her family affairs. Even though she is going to school and desires to run her family business she is put aside by her mother and made feel inadequate by her. One night she wants to feel free and somehow she ends up in the manor coming face to face Walker.

Walker and Jasmine ended up pair together to complete the trails after Walker's former belle mysteriously disappears and Jasmine is force to take her place. Their attraction to each other is electric and trough out the book they find each other wanting more and founding an unbreakable bond. Each of the depraved trials they have to pass makes them closer and when is time to find answers to the order secrets, they work together.

I did it again - I read the last book in a series first without reading the previous five books of the series . But let me tell you that I was so excited when I was offered this book and read the blurb that I was all in for this story . And the story line of Lavish Corruption: A Dark Secret Society Romance ( Breaking Belles Series #6) by Alta Hensley and Stasia Black has more than enough background story that I catch up on what I was missing from the other books. I loved Walker and Jasmine's story . Walker is going through the motions of his trials with his belle because that's what expected of him. But he has no connection with his belle unlike all of his friends before him .So that's just a business arrangement and nothing more . Jasmine is urged to come home for the summer vacation from business school , only to find out that she must attend some social events arranged by her mother and surprise ... be married for someone who would run the family business. And all she wants is to finish school and run the family business and be seen as capable to do it . But that's not the southern way a girl lives her life . And Jasmine rebel against this by being reckless. That's how she finds herself at Oleander Mansion and meets Walker. She's mistaken for a belle and she's not supposed to be there at all . Walker recognizes Jasmine and decides to save her but it's late for that .Jasmine decides to act as is expected of a belle only to not be recognized. By some twist of fate she ends up as Walker's belle and must finish his trails with him. That's where the story gets a lot darker , dangerous and deadly because the Society is using the trails to punish Jasmine. You see her brother Sully didn't finish his trails and left . But a lot of things are suspicious around the Society so they start digging and what they find could set them free . And it does . By the end of the story I was cheering for them to right all the wrongs and they did . And Walker and Jasmine got their happily ever after together . I loved their story so much so now I might read the other books of the series.

Walker St. Claire is doing his initiation into the Order of the Silver Ghost. It is a tradition passed down from generation to generation. The Elders have the power to make or break you in business or politics. It is a 3 month process where you pick a belle and then go through depraved trials trying to break the belle. The women come freely to the Midnight Ball hoping to be picked as a belle for their own reasons.

Jasmine VanDoren’s brother Sullivan is one of Walker’s close friends. He failed the trials. Because he failed, his family’s business, VanDoren Enterprises is being held in trust by Montgomery until Jasmine can take over. Her mother is a traditional Southern mom who is trying to marry Jasmine off to a suitable, read rich, man that can run the business while Jasmine has babies and keeps house like a good Southern woman. Jasmine just wants to run the business and make it successful. She takes a drive to clear her head and ends up at the Oleander Mansion. She is peeking in the windows when a man mistakes her for a belle and makes her come inside for the festivities.

Walker recognizes Jasmine and tries to get her out of there, but it is too late. The Elders start the festivities. Walker’s belle Cindy is claimed by another man since Walker “claimed” Jasmine to get her out of there.

What happens between them? What happens to Cindy when she’s not with Walker? Why does Jasmine go back willingly another night? When the Elders force Jasmine to be Walker’s belle for the rest of the trials to atone for her trespassing and to save her family’s business, will Jasmine be strong enough to handle it? Will Walker and Jasmine succeed in winning at the Trials? What happens to the couple when the Trials are over?

I was enthralled from beginning to end. Another great story.

A decadent story about a male centric secret society which runs a small Southern town. All the boys of breeding are expected to join in in the sexual debauchery. Upon completion of their trials, boys are granted access to the society with all its “we scratch your back, you scratch ours”. The trial: breaking a belle sexually in full view of the membership. Usually the belles are poorer girls drawn in by the promise of a “wish” they could never afford on their own. But what if a good girl saw behind the curtain….

Walker St. Claire recognizes one of the veiled women as his best friend’s little sister Jasmine VanDoren. And he tries to get her to leave before things get started. But Jasmine has always crushed on Walker and she wants a walk on the wild side before being forced to marry for money & status.

They get through the first night with Jasmine’s anonymity intact, but the chemistry between them was electric and Jasmine returns for more only to be caught and forced to play the game the rest of the way through.

The games used to be merely provocative, but in recent years have become extreme. Jasmine & Walker’s first “forced” trial has Jasmine on the verge of drowning. Another has her near asphyxiated while Walker sodomizes her. There is also some crazy wax play while Jasmine is chained to a horizontal St. Andrew’s cross. Only Walker fucks her, but a lot of men stand around and cover her with their release.

The trials only bond Walker & Jasmine closer together. They dream of a time beyond the trials when Walker can court her properly. But then Walker’s father makes their courtship & marriage an order, claiming video evidence of the trials could be used to keep Jasmine obedient. Walker isn’t having it. But what can they do to bring down this corrupt institution.

Only three weeks left until Walker will complete his initiation into the Order of the Silver Ghost, which will allow him to claim his inheritance. Jasmine is the younger sister of Sully, who was unable to earn his membership. In Sully’s place, Jasmine has been delegated as the eventual owner and boss of her family’s corporation. Unfortunately, her mother disagrees. She has been raised as a protected debutante and thus she will marry a wealthy man!

Jasmine must find a way to break free from her mother’s plans. She must find a way to escape and truly LIVE! She drives to the Oleander to explore, but she becomes caught up in the proceedings. Although naked except for lace and pearls, Walker recognizes her immediately. She is not a “belle”! How did she get here? Why is she here? What will he do with her? Will she like it?

This is the final book in the Breaking Belles Series, and Alta Hensley and Stasia Black have done an amazing job. Walker is a bit bored by the Trials until he sees Jasmine. Jasmine is merely looking to find out what happens at the Oleander during said Trials. She is surprised; Walker is shocked, and I am totally intrigued! What will happen when the elders discover Jasmine within their manor? How risqué can these trials become? WOW!

I found the interaction between Jasmine and Walker to be erotically salacious, yet also full of tension and fear. Several of the trials caused me to hold my breath and try to keep my heart calm. Will Walker be able to complete his Trials or will he leave with Jasmine? This intricate novel took me on an exciting adventure that left me awed!

I love this series so much and it will be one I know I reread again probably a lot! This one definitely was worth the wait it will keep you on your toes at least it did for me with the crazy, sometimes scary scenes along with the mystery! We get answers which didn’t surprise me one bit if anything I want to hurt the members of order more than I already did from when I read the other books it’s became a stronger feeling. I love best friend little sister books so that’s a bonus lol and this strong woman is not afraid to give people a piece of her mind and won’t back down. I love everything else how strong the main characters are and their chemistry among other things and the ending it’s amazing I love it and am so proud of it! I don’t want to give to much away just know if you like dark romance and mystery among other things you’re love this! I couldn’t put it down I stayed up all night until I got to end but keep in mind this book has some things that some people might not like or be able to handle so please be careful and do what’s best for you personally. I for one want more on all six main characters how they are doing now that everyone is free from the order and it’s crazy members? Do they get together as a group and hang out together? How are their individual relationships with everything they each had to go through? Do the bad men members ever go to jail for the things we find out about in this book they did? Thing like these questions and more. Maybe one day the authors will consider writing more to give these answers and more on these remarkable characters! :).

I’ve read all of the Breaking Belle books.
Enjoyed every one too.
Lavish Corruption has new revelations and more cruelty than the previous books.
Because the intent of the trials come to light and it absolutely stunned me.
I adored Walker and Jasmine.
I liked Jasmine’s courage and feisty personality. I also appreciated her honesty and vulnerabilities.
She’s tough and sweet rolled into one. A gentle Southern Belle with a spirit of fire.
Walker is determined to make it in the Order of the Silver Ghost.
He has dreams and aspirations and he needs to succeed in his trials to fulfill them.
While he will do anything to gain entrance. He still has morals and integrity. Which be definitely be tested over and over again.
I loved his protective nature with Jasmine. His loyalty to shield and protect his friends sister with all his might and ability.
But Jasmine is no wilting flower. She’s stronger than she’s given credit for.
She is just as determined as Walker to make it through the dark depraved trials of the evil Elders.
"I don't need a Prince Charming to save me. What I need is a fierce warrior to fight by my side."
And goodness is is absolutely a fighter and a warrior! Who needs someone just as fierce.
The only thing I would have loved when it came towards the end was more details and more info.
I wanted to know exactly how everything and everyone tuned out.
I wanted to know what everyone’s future looked like especially Sully.
I would have loved another epilogue years down the line.
