Despite how many I have read of these books I am still chary of calling the Erins 'favourite authors'. Anyway, in this series and this book - Jaypaw wants slapping, Lionpaw's an idiot and Hollypaw gets stuck in a ludicrous kidnap plot thanks to her nosiness. Still happily reading along and still happy that Greystripe is back : )

A GREAT READ! This book is very eventful and very well written. It comes from three different view points with lot's of stuff happening to each of the cats of the prophecy. Then all the stories combine. It's great, the prologue is sad when you find out more about the character "fallen leaves". Jaypaw finds out more about the ancient cats and he finds out something very important about cinderpaw that cinderpaw herself doesn't even know.

Lionpaw, struggles with forbidden love and ambitious characters come to him in his dreams. But do they really want to just help him to become the best warrior and help his clan?

Hollypaw wants to stop her clan from fighting an unnecessary battle and gets mischievous.
The ending combines everything and it was really exciting!

A little slow to start for me, could be because it's been awhile since I've read a Warriors book but in the end it was better. I'm curious to see that the newest prophecy has in store for our warrior friends.

The title says an awful lot in this 2nd part of the Power of Three saga. It becomes more clear that Brambleclaw and Squirrelflight's kits are the three referenced in this series. There are many subtleties alluded to throughout this book but many tales are intertwined as the powers of Hollypaw (sense of diplomacy) and Lionpaw (skills as a tactician) begin to emerge. Sadly, another encounter with TigerStar, this time through Lionpaw, seems to give the power-hungry ancestor a new hold on ThunderClan's destiny. However, we see that Brambleclaw appears to have at least a minor suspicion of his son's fighting strategy style and I can foresee a potential conflict building in the future. After all, the next title in the series is "Outcast" which already has me wondering and predicting.

I think my favorite part of this chapter, however, was the growth of Jaypaw, especially as he learns to walk with his ancestors showing a bit more understanding, empathy, and maturity. The little kit is growing up and, while still not entirely comfortable with his set of life's circumstances, gives hope that he is indeed destined for great things. A little shout out to my friend, Micheline, for encouraging me to give Jaypaw's character another chance ... she was definitely right in keeping the faith!

As always, now I can't wait to get started on the next book in the series and find out exactly what "Outcast" refers to ...

Dark River is the 2nd book in the Power of Three (PO3) series of Warriors. It picks up precisely where PO3 #1, The Sight left off. As the title suggests, this book has a strong theme of looming darkness, or impending danger. An eminent battle threatens to put many clans in danger, and once again TigerStar'S presence is felt from beyond the grave. In The Sight, TigerStar & HawkFrost both approached JayPaw in a dream, and attempted to lure him into darkness, but he trusted his instinct and refused. This time around, TigerStar & HawkFrost approach LionPaw, and offer to help him battle train at a perfect moment, and teach him valuable moves....and LionPaw seems willing to accept their help, only BrambleClaw seems to be weary, or suspect TigerStar's involvement....and he would know better than anyone.

All 3 of FireStar's descendants, or BrambleClaw and SquirrelFlight's kits have secrets in this book, and its still hard to tell what their intentions are, or how they will eventually handle their ever growing powers. In 'The Signt', JayPaw's powers were the only ones I really noticed, and while his powers seem to be growing while growing more complicated, HollyPaw and LionPaw's powers seem to be coming into focus in this book. As usual, I cannot wait to see what happens next, another riveting addition to the Warriors series!

I liked this book more that the last one. It had more of a plot to it. I like Jaypaws character, it is interesting to read a Warriors book and have it go by smell and hearing rather that sight, being Jaypaw is blind.
Also I have come to the conclusion that Squirrelflight is not the mother of Jaypaw, Hollypaw and Lionpaw. I believe Leafpool is there mother. If you have read this book you might see why I think this. :-)

Summary:
With more experience comes both power and danger: Lionpaw makes a friendship--and a discovery--that must be kept hidden; Jaypaw learns a secret that could benefit ThunderClan by damaging others; and Hollypaw knows something that could avert a battle, if she could convince the rest of her Clan.
The three are torn apart as each discovers darkness: in themselves, in the Clans, and in the past. And, as conflict begins over what it means to be a warrior, rising tensions threaten to overflow, washing away the peace that has existed for many moons.
Plot:
For some reason, so far the plot in The Power of Three series hasn't been as good as the rest. I know for a fact that it'll get better, but it's torture waiting. There's a main prophecy that I'm waiting to come into action, which I know it will in Outcast, the next book. I speed-read this book, which made it so much faster, therefore I was rarely bored.
Characters:
Jaypaw's attitude hasn't gotten much better, but at least he's a little nicer. In the first book, I didn't like Jaypaw at all, but now that I've seen more of his powers, I've come to respect him a little more.
Now onto Lionpaw. Lionpaw is great and all, but he's not an original character yet. He's basically the classic warrior that wants to become clan leader. I did, however, really like his relationship with Heatherpaw.
Hollypaw wasn't really featured that much in this book. She didn't play an important part in Dark River, she was basically just there to fill the 3 P.O.V. standards for this series.
Overall & Recommendations:
Despite my complaints above, this was a great book. Definitely not the best warrior book, but it was still really good. I had my problems with the characters, but not much more. The entire Warrior series is amazing, and I recommend to all.

⭐️5 stars yet again for the wonderful memories this possess.

i have absolutely no clue why i cried twice in this book cause its not emotional at all. but when bramble said he always had to prove himself because of who his father was, it just hit me and i started cry. and when Leafpool told jaypaw "your blind" i just started balling my eyes out because that hurt me too because im so attached to these cats.

i really dont have much to say, because i loved this.

jaypaw is a savage.

goodbye.

This is one of the best 'Warriors' book I've read to date. It's so good! My favorite part was when Hollypaw, Jaypaw, Lionpaw, Breezepaw, and Heatherpaw were saving Sedgekit, Thistlekit, and Swallowkit from the tunnels. Then Fallen Leaves was there and showed Jaypaw the way, and it was like they were brothers!

Okay, look. I started reading this series at the beginning of 2021, as a joke, thinking that I'd read a couple and then it wouldn't be funny anymore and I'd forget about it. However, they're actuallly really good?
I read 18 Warrior Cats books last year, they made up 21% of my reading for the entire year.
Plot wise, the drama never stops and I'm so invested at this point that I don't think I can stop. I have to know what happens.

So if in the year of our lord, 2022, you see me log another 20 books about cats fighting battles in the woods, mind your business.

I really liked this book! The story was pretty good, but I didn't like that Lionpaw was seeing Heatherpaw secretly. Haven't we had enough of that? Anyway, overall good story!

This by far the most interesting and compelling book in the entire series, maybe even the whole of the warrior cats series.
I absolutely loved how Erin Hunter used the old cats in the story and it makes me laugh every time Jayfeather goes to his “stick”. I mean it just sounds funny.
This book also introduces my new favorite character, Fallenleaves. Fallenleaves is just such a unique character and even though you don’t get to know his life before going into the tunnels, he really is just such a lovable character.
I love the way Hunter really focuses on developing Jayfeathers abilities and kind of just focuses on him more in general.
I love this book and would definitely recommend reading it because it is full of mystery and action.
