I understand that sometimes you need a lot of additional information to tell a story the right way and that this was about more than just Medusa, but… 23 different POVs?
It did the book more harm than good, if you ask me.
There are a few more things that bothered me, the writing and childlike interactions between the characters being a huge part of that, but I really don‘t want to turn this into a never-ending rant review.
I read the book, I didn‘t like it, and now I‘m moving on.

Der Plottwist am Ende war ebenfalls vorhersehbar, und auch wenn es inzwischen in so jedem Fantasybuch vorkommt, bin ich einfach kein Fan vom Mary-Sue-Syndrom. Valea hätte mir als magieschwache aber starke Persönlichkeit besser gefallen als das was sie jetzt ist bzw. noch werden wird.
Trotzdem hat mich die Geschichte neugierig genug gemacht um die Reihe fortzusetzen. Ich bin schon gespannt was im zweiten Band noch alles auf mich zukommen wird....more

Have I already mentioned that I love retellings? I'm especially curious about this one since it's about Hänsel & Gretel (German folklore) and I know their story by heart. Please don't disappoint me!

Für mich war es dennoch eine positive Überraschung - ich liebe Geschichten, in denen die Romanze im Vordergrund steht, und auch wenn dadurch zum Schluss doch noch einige Fragen offen geblieben sind, hat mir diese wirklich gut gefallen.
Ich hoffe sehr, dass wir noch eine Fortsetzung zu den beiden bekommen werden, aber falls nicht, denke ich mir einfach selbst eine glückliche Zukunft aus!
