It's actually pretty much the same recipe as the book and novellas I read from her but with paranormal elements.
Since I actually read a lot of Omegaverse stuff the relationship plot was pretty easy to guess of the prologue. But I was still hooked on the story because I just needed to know what happened to Serena and how all the politics stuff was going to resolve.
Really happy that Ali Hazelwood brought Shifters to all the romance girlies that weren't into it before and I just hope she writes a second book in this universe....more

So here are a few thoughts: - Shen Qingqiu is literally failing every task so successfully that Luo Binghe falls in love with him. Like that has to be a record in failing successfully! - I just love how Shen Qingqiu is so stupid. He is like "oh I've got the role of the female love interest in this scene. So weird" and "oh Luo Binghe is putting on his best moves and does things he would just to get women to love him for me. So nice of him". Just put two and two together bro - Really like the guide at the end. Not my first cultivation or transmigration novel but still so so helpful! (Especially because I'm really shit at names and love a pronunciation guide) - Cracked up every time the author of the original novel is mentioned. "Airplane Shooting Towards the Sky" is way to funny to me. A lot funnier than it has any business of being, but oh well. - Also: I love that nothing really happens between the protagonists. I know that it's a Danmei and they sometimes have weird age dynamics (like student and teacher here), but at least nothing happens at an inappropriate age. I guess it's weird to be happy about that, but, oh boy, have I read bad things before....more

Additional thoughts: - The change to different races was so funny. Like Chilchuck as a whole as Tall-Man. And Senshi as an elf. - The second change was even funnier. - Manneken Pis was a nice touch. - Don't really like the whole Canaries plot but damn Captain Mithrun is powerful. - I'm worried about Kabru. That slimy bastard grew on me. And I'm low-key shipping him and the Captain. They would be such a power couple. - Chilchuck being the father of three girls who are all full grown and nobody knowing about it till now is just so on brand for him. I laughed a lot....more

His stoic dismissal of most of the statements changing to his fear and his wild search for the truth while always being a few steps behind is just awesome storytelling. Also I crack up at the idea that Jon has a tape which is just him saying "supplemental" every two minutes.
Additional thoughts: - No worms! Thank the gods for that! - I love Michael but his laugh gives me the creep to a point where I needed to stop listening for a few minutes after every episode he is in. Like damn! - Mary Keay is sooooo creepy. - The final was so great. It had me clutching my chest like an old lady clutching her pearls because my heart was beating so hard....more

I also don't like podcasts most of the time because I don't like to listen to people talk (audio books are better but I'm still not too fond of them).
So why do I rate this 5 stars? Because it is fucking fantastic.
It's the right kind of horror to keep me scared while listening but I can still sleep afterwards. It's also told in a way that each episode has me so hooked on the plot that I don't get bored or annoyed at the voice (also Jonathan Sims has an amazing voice for this).
I really can't recommend this enough even though I have slight trypophobia and a giant fear of a parasitic worm infestation, so this season was just pure horror to me.
P.S.: I just found this podcast through one obscure internet reference and I'm so hooked so thanks weird internet friends...more

Additional thoughts: Izutsumi is adding a fun new dynamic to the team. She seems so different from them which makes their interactions so fun. Also she always seems like she needs a lot of love and friendship. The minotaur and Laios fascination with it (in the story and in the extra) made me laugh and cringe at the same time. Also the fashion in this Volume was just *chef's kiss* Laios being a crafty boy with the familiars was too cute. Senshi's backstory was tragic and soooo unnerving. Also that very last picture... Damn I'm excited for the next Volume!...more

The first half with our main group plus Shuro's and Kabru's groups was actually tiring and annoying except for that epic fight. It got fun again when the groups split up again.
Additional thoughts: Kabru is so slimy that I really loved that he was forced to eat monster omelet. The shapeshifter chapters were so fun and stupid. Love that they see each other so differently from how they really are. Way too good. Izutsumi / Asebi (don't really know which name will be used from now on) is so cute. Hope we get more lessons like the spoon thing. She deserves a group that treats her good....more

He asked This book became such a meme that even my boyfriend, who isn't much into reading and isn't on booktok or bookstagram, heard about this book. He asked me for MONTHS if I have already read it, so I eventually forced him to read it with me. And because I'm not paying 5€ on audible for that audiobook when I can read it on Kindle Unlimited, I read it to him like the most fucked up bedtime story you ever heard of.
And well, this was a wild ride.
It actually had more plot than I thought it would have but it really wasn't good. It didn't even have great humour (which can save the weirdest of stories). The sex scenes were actually way worse than I thought they would be. Also the editing was bad (like the author used the wrong pronouns for the point of view character (he instead of I)).
So 2 stars from me and a "I nearly threw up"/10 from my boyfriend....more

It hurt (a lot) but it was also such a beautiful and healing Happy Ever After. And I think it was the perfect ending for the book.
The rest of the plot was okay, some parts were even good, but especially the action scenes just drag on and have a kinda weird pacing. Also a lot of the explanations about the Lazarus thing feel like they were just thought about for this final installment of the series. I would have loved at least some of the explanations (or at least foreshadowing them) in the prior books. It would have made the story richer.
Also the book feels like it needs one more round of revisions and editing. There are missing words or wrong words a few times (not so few times since I remember them after reading and I normally forget stuff like that) and in the end the timelines kinda don't make sense (a baby kicking in a time where the belly doesn't really show yet, and a daughter being described as young when her parents are supposed to be old and grey). But perhaps a few of these things could be fixed later (at least I think that is how it works with some eBooks)....more

The steamy scenes are all good some are even really spicy and great, but the rest of the plot is just so weak and bland. Like okay she doesn't know he is a demon but we all do from the title so the whole discovery arc taking up more than half the book is just annoying. Also the concept of demons is boring to me (not because Galen is a golden retriever, but because why use demons, when your idea of them is just bureaucracy? What could be more boring than that?).
Also what annoys me: why doesn't the cover art match the description of Galen? Like "curled horns he can hide in his curls" where? And is that really "skin like tarnished gold"? The cover picture was one of the reasons to read this so this is just disappointing....more

I just think the author did waaaaay too little with the men being monsters. The vampires got a little bit of biting and blood, but not even the shifters got any real monster properties. They were just men, who sometimes happen to be a wolf or a cat. You could literally write just the same story with the men just being normal men. So I guess this is an easy start in the world of monster romance, but really doesn't hit the point why people read monster romance (at least in my opinion). Still a fun read though....more

TThis feels like short form content in the best possible way. I mean it is based on a YouTube short series and it feels like it but not in a bad way. The story is still fun in the same way because the concept is just great. Only problem (at least for me) when you watched the Shorts before you read the book you have neither a "what" nor a "how" suspense about what is going to happen in this book since the story is exactly the same. Like barely any additional scenes. Just a little more feelings and explanations in the scenes. Still it is a really fun read. So 4 stars....more

I don't know how I feel about this one. I enjoyed reading it but sometimes the story just feels off. Like how the priest gets from London to Grimdale I don't know how I feel about this one. I enjoyed reading it but sometimes the story just feels off. Like how the priest gets from London to Grimdale causes chaos and the just pisses of to London again because Grimdale isn't safe enough for him? Such a stupid plot point and stupid way to get a final fight in. Also the interactions with Bree's family all kinda feel weird. Perhaps they should but I didn't warm up to her Mum and Dad at all and they are kinda important to Bree and the story. Also why are the cats on the cover when they literally don't appear in the book? And the ending is again a cliffhanger but it just doesn't have the same impact as the one in book 2 because we all know they will be fine. There is literally no question. So idk how to really rate this. So 3.5 stars I guess...more
