I think this manga is what Yuu Watase famous. I watched its anime counterpart when I was still in kindergarten and had been a fan. So when I came across this in a bookstore, I was like, "Why not?" and bought a copy. It was pretty cheap and I wanted to remember why I liked it so much.
And I do remember.
Fushigi Yugi is not a bad work. It's interesting enough and has a lot of cute/funny scenes. It was the art that I didn't like and its overdose in drama. But the characters, especially the MALE characters, were GREAT. I loved them. Their different personalities and abilities were nice to read about. The reference to Chinese folklore was accurate and some of them were new to me.
To put it simply, it's a no-brainer why Fushigi Yugi was popular back in the day....more

It's a fascinating way of telling the story really because it makes the reader wonder and really READ in hopes for some clues.
The characters were all nice save for the boy with numbers in his name. Oh, he had his okay moments but he was generally annoying. Well, you can't blame him since he was "captured" by people he should regard as enemies but a little gratitude would be nice. The pacing was kind of slow too, hence the four stars instead of five. Still, it's a good book and I'm looking forward to the second book....more

And I'm especially interested because it's in the setting of a boarding school! And I love boarding schools! Can't wait to see how Ciel blends in. Hahahaha... Charles Grey sure is pissed to find out that Sebastian is alive. I think the other Charles is more fearsome. He's similar to Sebastian that he's skilled and knowledgeable. I like John Brown more though. Can't forget that Albert doll!...more

She tries so hard for Ciel. It's obvious how much she cares for him. And the part where Ciel blushed... It's obvious he cares for her too but I'm not sure if it's in the same level as hers. Lizzie's brother was funny and I'm glad Snake is out of danger. No offense but he's nowhere near the league of the shinigamis and Sebastian so he's better off... away.
It's sad that the Undertaker has "betrayed" Ciel now. Lau's the only one left. Well, I already mentioned that but still. He's seriously the only one left. I didn't count the Undertaker so much because Ciel wasn't that close to him. -sighs- The Undertaker was cool though. I could understand why he protected the Viscount. I mean, he does love laughs and the Viscount could certainly give him some.
Sebastian's memories helped fill the gaps in what really happened. Oh, we were given the general idea but not the complete picture. And now we have that picture. Kuroshitsuji is a brilliant series!!! I don't know which one I love more, this or Pandora Hearts! I love them both!...more

Cute and strong! No, her entire family is amazing! I was happy and relieved to see them safe and sound... and kicking ass! They're protecting the defenseless people... shining examples of nobles!
Oh, and the fighting scenes between Sebastian and the shinigami was exhilarating. I hope Sebastian would win although I like Ronald. Just Ronald. Not Grell. God, no....more

Sebastian is still alive! It was obvious he's Father Jeremy. As Arthur said, Jeremy was too perfect... like Sebastian. The way Jeremy seemed so knowledgeable about food and how he helped the other servants prepare was like Sebastian. His preference of black clothes was like Sebastian. That old man, Tanaka, though... no wonder Sebastian admires him somewhat. He's almost as good and he's a normal human! Oh, sure, so Agni can match Sebastian but hello! The age difference between Agni and Tanaka is huge.
You could clearly see the references of Arthur Conan Doyle's books throughout the story. The snake in the ventilator... the locked room mystery... baritsu... yep, if you're a fan of Sherlock Holmes, it's glaringly obvious.
**spoiler alert** I'm tired of writing summaries. It's not like anyone reads my reviews so I'll just put my opinion...

Wah~ I wish even more that I have a butler like Sebastian! How can he find such awesome people?! Okay, so he's a demon but still!!! Innocent gardener is actually a human experiment. Glasses maid is actually an unparalleled sharpshooter. Idiot cook is actually a demolitions expert. How cool is that!!!
The only thing that ruined it for me was when Ciel let the children die and when it turned out the orphanage of a sort Joker and the others were protecting turned out to be a fake. Okay, I understand Ciel's point that those children were kind of hard to save since they were really gone mentally and emotionally but wasn't that too harsh? Although yes, dying might be better than to prolong such miserable lives... Anyway, I can't believe Joker and the others never thought to check that orphanage! I mean, seriously? After all those years, they never bothered to check?! That's retarded!!!
Otherwise a good manga. Sebastian reminded me of Ryuk though with the comment, "And that's why humans are so interesting."...more

Thankfully, she ends up with a smart and sassy female dragon who she quickly befriends and soon one adventure comes after another!
It was a quick read as I finished it on one day despite having constant interruptions. I liked Cimorene. She was a little hardheaded, but who isn't really? She has a quick mind, a good eye, and magical powers (although she didn't manage to go far in her study of magic). She's another example of a gusty heroine and she played her role well. The supporting characters were nice additions and provided more depth to the story. I do wish it was slightly longer and there were more explanations in some parts but I think it worked out well in the end. This isn't exactly a must-read but it's something that you might enjoy if you're into genres like this one....more

But it was still good.
Poor Alexia! Not only had she been kicked out of the Woolsey Castle, she was also kicked out of the Loontwill mansion when they found out she had a baby (and of course assumed she cheated on Lord Maccon)and the Shadow Council! And the only person who could clear things out, Lord Akeldama, was gone! What could the former muhjah do now? Well, she COULD go to Italy, revisit her roots, and check out Templar documents to prove that it is indeed possible for a supernatural to produce despite being dead.
Meanwhile, Lord Maccon is eating Professor Lyall's sheep and drinking his formaldehyde in order to ease his sorrow. This forces Professor Lyall to assume his responsibilities AND attend to his own. Will he be able to do all that alone?...more
