i loveeeee lilo! this wasn't the most driving of their books so far since it covers the timeline of calloway sisters books 1&2, but it was interesting to get their perspectives and see what was happening with them during then (namely both of their relapses). i feel so much for both of them dealing w the contradictory repercussions of rose & conor's tapes and the tabloid rumors about lo's dad.
only thing i hate is i just can't read about ryke and pre-18 daisy anymore, pls ...more

connor & rose are absolutely perfect together <3
i loved getting to see the core 6 more and expanding on connor & rose's relationship, they've been so much fun. while i'm overall happy and i love their relationship, there are admittedly a few things that i didn't love about the book. however, the pros outweighed the cons for me. i love their relationship and mutual respect, esp connor loving rose's tenacity and independence. i thought it was adorable how they speak french (though not the most accurate lol). getting to see the whole gang together is a good time, they all have excellent banter. the reality show was a fun spin. the smut... *chef's kiss*. connor takes the LEAD.
what i didn't like (spoilers for this section): (view spoiler)[i would've liked to see his relationship w his mother expanded on, esp bc of the reveal at the end. i was disappointed they weren't able to stop the sex tapes being distributed. (hide spoiler)]
i'm really excited to keep continuing this series, first w ryke and daisy, these two again, and of course the OGs, lilo.

He is as much a part of me as the sun is a part of the sky, as the Earth is to the universe.
when i saw that this book was almost twice as long as the previous two, i got nervous bc sometimes authors ruin their own books with too much ambition and filler. however, this one did not disappoint.
lily and lo reunite after his stint in rehab, but can she handle her greatest temptation?

i am just breezing through this series, i'm obsessedddd.
normally, i get annoyed when mc's are split up and there's a lot of flashback scenes, but i think in the context of the story it really worked to help build the background to their relationship and made sense for what's happening. first book focused on the oblivious pining, this book hones in on their friendship over the years, which i feel like is only further cementing me rooting for them. and the present-time scenes w lo's dirty talk ...more
i like amara and dante, i just don't love runyx. there were points that were good - i typically don't like prequel / flashback type set-ups when i knoi like amara and dante, i just don't love runyx. there were points that were good - i typically don't like prequel / flashback type set-ups when i know present story is further along, but i thought this did a good job. there were some genuinely good moments, but then there were also inconsistencies with writing and story quality. i probably won't continue with the series for a while.
three things i had issue with (small spoilers ahead): 1. i don't understand why dante and/or tristan never just offed dante's dad sooner. like what was actually holding them back? i don't really feel like there was anything solid holding them back, unless i missed something. 2. dante being mad at amara for not telling him about the SA when she was captive. no one ever has to disclose that kind of information to anyone, period. 3. why even have the part where dante is forced by his dad to kill his gf. i felt like there were no real ramifications for anyone, except to create a reason for amara to start avoiding him. make up another random reason and you could easily have removed that part. it just felt ridiculously unnecessary and borderline triggering. dante never really expressed guilt/trauma after about doing it or fear of that happening to amara, amara cared about it for like 5 minutes then moved on. we already knew his dad was awful, it was pointless to me and i hated it bc we already have enough women being killed for no good reason in media. unfortunately, it tainted the story for me, i would've liked it more without....more

tropes: - friends to lovers - playboy (ish) hockey player - endo / disability rep - fall vibes - delicious foodie descriptions - familial love/grief - jane austen references / regency - fake dating (ishhhh, as characters)
this started strong with fall vibes, yearning & pining, and all the great food descriptions. this makes me want to cozy up in the northeast with some delicious cider & wander cobblestoned main streets. if i was more familiar with jane austen's books this would have resonated even more, but unfortunately that was all lost on me lol. the jane austen fans will probably delight over it though!
things i liked: - great endo rep. as someone who doesn't have much knowledge of it, i feel like i learned a lot, esp from the perspective of someone experiencing it and finally getting diagnosed for it. she also deals w the disbelief and failings of doctors in regards to women's pain and general health. - foodie vibes: so many great descriptions. now i need to find vegan poutine so i can experience it for myself. i very much recommend having some good munchies on hand for this reading experience. - family & grief: aulie & jack both dealing w their respective family grief. i think it was really well done without being overwhelming or too dark for a fluffier contemp book imo
things i think could've been improved: - the length. sooo long, i think it could've done w editing down 100 pages. - the veronica character esp near the end (view spoiler)[i'm just over the whole influencer villain archetype that's been in books lately, and it felt like a really last minute "conflict" thrown in at the end (hide spoiler)] - why does aulie have so many nicknames lol (view spoiler)[i did not care for "kitten" (hide spoiler)]
overall, i would def rec this for fans of contemp who like a little sports and fall vibes thrown in!
i would really love a book on grady and bridget hehe

the book opens with a gamer glossary, so i was like ok this author knows what she's talking about. there was some fun insight into the gaming/streaming world, and as someone who's new to that i thought it was interesting and incorporated well into the story.
the main couple, stevie and aleks, were pretty adorable. they're pretty down for each other and don't have any major hangups - well, minus the fact that his alter ego is a world-famous anonymous masked gaming streamer that she hooked up with and can't shake her hots for.
the mystery plot was pretty easy to guess, but i had a fun time.
i am very excited for the next book couple, who i also guessed. i'm predicting "we have to forget we've already hooked up" and "we can't do it again" tropes which i loveeeee.

this entire series was a ride, but most especially this final installment. this book is packed and BAT SHIT, but gives way to a riveting buildup to the final showdown. i feel like things overall were tied up fairly well. andrew minyard and neil josten are probably the only characters i will ever suffer a mafia/underground crime plotline for. this is the most dysfunctional found family ever and i love them.

this series continues to be a tumultuous ride. i love the exy game scenes, i wish there were more. definitely some problematic things. even more violence lingering in every corner.
watching neil finding his place with the foxes is so worth it though. andrew has grown on me so much, i see why he's such a fan favorite.
and with that, the slowest of burns ever that has me giggling and kicking my legs at the barest hint of what's to come:
"Speaking of unpredictable assholes, when did that happen?" "When did what?" Neil asked. Wymack eyed him. "Forget it."
