I can't. I tried but this is... I've read messed up books before, and I usually give paranormal romances a pass on what I consider "too dark" for me to read. This did it, though. I can't read about a SA survivor being forced into degradat!on and CNC (without actually ever consenting) all within 12h of meeting for the first time. And then for it to only get worse! And when I think the worst is over, it gets even more traumatizing.
Just a very long CNC scene hidden behind the fated mates trope. A lot of bl00d, degradat!on, O denial, v!olence, g0re, SA... idk just way too many f***ed up things. The scene that broke me was the pircing as punishment one. ...more

This is a double bi awakening/ rivals to lovers story, but it's so fast I feel like if you blink you'll miss all the good parts. The ending was... odd. I don't know if I like it all that much, but I definitely wasn't expecting that to happen so that's a plus(?).

This was so cute! And I know that a story where the MC is literally a Soul Eater doesn't scream cute, but trust me, these two were cute af. Specially Danny! *sigh* He's just a soft boy even walking through the Wastes. I can't take it!
I'm really excited about this series, though I don't think I'll read every single one of them (ie: I saw there was a moth one and since my #1 phobia is moths, I'm not doing that to myself *shudder* Hell, even writing the word is making me feel queasy). I will continue with the series, but I might skip a couple.
I 100% recommend this book, though, mainly to any MM monster romance lovers looking for a cute read -although it's kind of dark and intense too, so beware. The torture scenes were a lot and there are pretty disgusting slurs said to the human MMC.

I have no words. I need 3-4 business days to unscramble my thoughts for this review. So full RTC. Cause there's a lot to say, but also not really. I picked this book up on stuff your earbuds day - and yes, I can see the joke there about listening to this audiobook with its deaf MC. The book was interesting, and I enjoyed the ending and the fact that it didn't shy away from portraying the difficulties of having a silent disability and how it can impact romantic relationships. It made me cry multiple times, but in a good way - the "this is genuinely braking my heart" way.
There were, however, several moments that did not sit well with me. Tadhg is deaf, and he is not only comfortable with his disability, but outspoken about the fact that he wouldn't wish to be a hearing person - which is his prerogative, and completely understandable; wonderful, even. After all, I wouldn't want to change myself either. What isn't as wonderful is how often he got frustrated and downright mad at people that didn't know how to navigate the customs or intricacies of deaf culture, or just found it equally frustrating to not know a language with which they could communicate. ASL is a very difficult language to learn, specially if you've never signed before, and the fact that people (Q's family) in this book seemingly took it up out of the blue felt disingenuous. And, sure, I know that this is a work of fiction, but the disability and problems it wields around to cut its characters with is not.
The moments where Tadhg got pissed at Quinn for daring to try to defend him, insisting that he could do it himself, and that he didn't need anyone's help, while in the same breath asking his not-yet-boyfriend to serve as his interpreter/translator (very valid, but still an accommodation) and standing self-righteously in his ideas about how he doesn't need anyone to "help him", but everyone that doesn't know immediately what accommodations he needs are rude... it was just a lot. And not in a good way.
Quinn and his family dynamics were grating too, and although I'm glad it was resolved by the end of the book, I still wished Q himself would have spoken up about it to his siblings, not have his mother do it for him.
There's also the portrayal of the abusive relationship with Tadhg's ex, that although I don't find issue with it per se, I do hate how it was resolved.
Overall, this book was interesting, and it made me want to brush up on my own Sign Language knowledge that I've, admittedly, left to rust. I don't know if I'd necessarily recommend the book to others, but it was really cute at times, very frustrating at others, and it did make me cry.

I love queer stories, and I love the acceptance and love we see from both character's families. This is a friend to lovers story where both MMCs are blind to just how much they are attracted to each other, so it had that slow burn feel with it waiting until the very last second for them to get together. From the very beginning of the story, there's already a connection and certain tension between MCs.
I grabbed this one as an audiobook, but to be honest I feel I might've loved it even more if I'd read it. The narrator did a good job at separating the voices and the accents, but idk. I might see if I can find it on KU for a reread later in the year.

I'm making my way through this series -and although the fact that the true epilogues are always off book pisses me off-, I'm truly having the time of my life here.
I've never been into superheroes, either in comics or in movies/TV, but this is just so up my alley it's laughable I'd never read anything like this before.
This book brings into play some more complicated family dynamics and backstory to the supes and their world. The whole "other aliens" thing is a bit confusing, but I mostly just loved Zion and Balty so much. And Daisy! Loved her, of course. She is, after all, the queen.
I'm not sure if I'll read the fourth book, since it's MMM with twins involved, and inc*st is just not at all something I look for in my romance books (what an odd sentence to have to write as clarification but whatevs). Also, there's an extreme sadomasochism TW on it, and I don't think I can safely handle all that. But we'll see...
I do, however, plan to read book #5, or as I'm calling it, the wedding book!
Seriously, though, although I might have some thoughts, this is just a superheroes MM spicy series. Truly, it's just 3.75 ⭐️ No thoughts, just vibes.
Seriously, though, although I might have some thoughts, this is just a superheroes MM spicy series. Truly, it's just mostly PWP. Well, there's some plot, but also so, so much s*x. In all the good ways.
This is Wolfy's book, and I couldn't wait for the mean, big, bad new head of the Suarez villainous family to get some for himself. Wolfgang is the oldest Suarez brother, and he manifested his power as "The Hand of Death" from a very young age... meaning he's never been able to touch anybody without killing them. Anyone... at all. So when Wolfy meets Simon -his brand, spanking new assistant- and he's bossy and sunshine where his own quiet rage and grump... he really can barely control himself.
The slow burn in the first half of this book should be ILLEGAL! I just wanted baby Wolfy to be able to touch someone for the first time. It wasn't even about losing his V card (which, also, sure, yes), but he really just needed a hug. And Simon, the absolute diva that he is made this book so much fun to read. I would never have thought that these two characters would work together, but the chemistry was amazing!

I really didn't have very high expectations with this book, and as it often happens, that's exactly when I unexpectedly find books I love.
This book is enemies-to-lovers on another level. The book starts with the both of them really hating each other, and even when they start having a physical relationship, it's pure, unadulterated hate-s*x. I know that they were supposed to be teenagers, but this book is definitely not YA. There are many adult themes, and very adult explicit scenes here.
The family/ found family drama was amazing. Hard to read when it came to Blaine and his father's relationship, but really great. I didn't bother to read the TWs in here, but there's a lot of violence, and drugs and there's a very big important plot point where (view spoiler)[ one of the MCs gets drugged and loses consciousness for hours (hide spoiler)].
Once it gets good -meaning they finally admit their feelings for one another- everything else starts getting out of hand. But there's NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP. My ultimate list of tropes seems to be all compiled in this one book because I adore these kinds of books. There are so many possible ways to bring a climax to your story, there's no need for the romantic relationship to be the one to suffer the main consequence of whatever the problem is. Here, once they've both committed to each other, they understand that there's not a single problem that they would rather face alone. It was so, so good.
This is an MM best friends to lovers novella and, although it's mostly smut, it was so cute.
Alessandro's been half in 3.5 ⭐️ Extra spicy MM novella.
This is an MM best friends to lovers novella and, although it's mostly smut, it was so cute.
Alessandro's been half in love with his best friend, Lachlan, since they met. The only problem is that every time he tries to flirt with him, everyone thinks he's just joking around. Also, the fact that Lachlan is super straight and a bit of a manwh0re doesn't help things. When the teasing gets a little too on the nose, Lachlan decides to go 'the f*ck around and find out' route... literally.
The whole 'exploring your sexuality and falling in love with your bestie' angle is not new, but I really liked it. I didn't, however, like the implication that being into anal means your somehow gay, and that women, in general, think it's gross... That was pretty ridiculous. If it wasn't because it made it feel like the author needed to trash every women Lachlan's had sex with before in order to make Alessandro more appealing, this would've been a 4 star read for sure.
This would be the perfect read for a day at the pool, enjoying a little day off somewhere sunny while reading about two hot guys getting it on!
