And she unbeknowingly led me to this monstrosity. In her defense, she did not read it before she recommended it to me, but nonetheless, I am obviously not extremely happy with the experience.
I don't even know where to start.
Though slightly cringe, like any trash romance book before you really get into it, I had hope in the beginning. I was like,"you know, this could really go somewhere.” They tricked hooked me with a sexy, stupid rich, supernatural man who I felt had promise. They were onto something in the beginning!
And then it went absolutely nowhere.
I don’t even know how to explain it exactly, but if I had to put it into words, I would say that except for the very end, this entire book felt like a first chapter. Nothing happened and I was very bored. Not even the surprise orgy had me interested.
Basically this chick agrees to fake date a vampire so he can avoid being forced into an arranged marriage, and in return gets all of her debt paid off (and also tricked into going to an orgy?). The premise was good! It could have been so good. The writing was honestly not that bad, it’s just the dialogue was painful to read, and as you may have picked up, the plot went essentially nowhere until the VERY bitter end.
I feel like I’m probably going to end up reading the second one even though I wasn’t super fond of the first, just because it really did pick up and actually get good towards the end and I kinda wanna know what happens. My experience with this book sort of reminded me of when I read A Court of Thorns and Roses, for the first time, I felt like most of the book was very slow but then ended really well in a way that made me want to read the next. I will keep you posted.
Also should I make a booktok? I will be so honest, I would love to just film myself ranting about books in the most obscene, ridiculous way, let me know your thoughts!...more

A woman in a swimming accident is rescued by a worker at a sharehouse resort and ends up working there (drama, awkwardness, and cuteness ensue).
This was such a fun short read! I thought all the characters were very adorable and the drama kept me hooked. My only complaint is that I felt like the series ended sort of abruptly and the epilogue didn't really give me what I needed, so I wish it ended differently. But otherwise, perfect if you're looking for a short slice of life manga with some steam <3...more

I'll definitely be sending CoHo my therapy bill, because I think after reading Verity, I legitimately have PTSD.
After being in a tragic car accident, Verity is unable to finish her bestselling novel series, and Lowen is asked to come on and "co-author" the rest of the series because Verity spoke so highly of her writing. Lowen comes to stay at Verity's house to go through her office and use her notes to work on the book, staying with Verity's husband and her son, Crew. The family is ridden with tragedy, both their daughters died extremely young at the hands of gruesome accidents. But when Lowen stumbles across Verity's disturbingly psychopathic unpublished auto-biography, she has to wonder- were they really accidents? Is Verity even sick?
As with most CoHo books, I ended up having some practical questions, but overall I was captivated by the writing and found this extremely hard to put down. I just wanted to know what was going to happen next so bad- did she kill that baby??!?? DID SHE????
On a scale of 1 to 10, the f8cked-Up-Ed-Ness was probably like a 15.

Bryce and Hunt are trying to get back to relatively normal after saving the world from an onslaught of demons unleashed from the depths of Hel earlier in the year. After Bryce revealed her true heritage on a national stage, she's gotten a lot more attention than she bargained for, not all of it good, to say the least. She learns that the Autumn King has arranged a marriage between her and a fae prince (Who is also her cousin, ew).
Let's just say Bryce and her lightening super powered boyfriend are not exactly happy about that ...more

They tell each othMisha and Ryen have been pen pals since 5th grade when their teachers accidentally paired them together because of a gender mix-up. They tell each other everything- hopes, dreams, fears. They fight about trivial things like pizza and console each other about serious things, like how their parents abandoned both of them at a young age.
One day, Misha accidentally runs into Ryen at one of his shows and is disgusted to learn that she's a prissy, popular brat, and nothing like the sweet, dorky nerd he's come to know and love in their letters. On the same night, Misha's sister dies of a heart attack, and after that point, he stops writing Ryen completely. He runs away and mysteriously shows up at Ryen's school under the name "Masen," keeping his identity from Ryen a secret to spite her. The rivalry between the two starts to become something more as they spend more time together.
I am going to preface this review by saying that I am giving this 5 stars purely from an entertainment standpoint. In the real world, when a girl says "stop," when you're getting hot and heavy, you stop. And you would never EVER tell a girl she's a "slut," or a horrible person, or dish her a whole slew of verbal and emotional abuse just because you think she "deserves it" for making a couple of mean jokes, or, "not being who you thought she was."
Honestly- as I write this, I feel like I should have hated this book for all of the problematic behavior mentioned above, and the BULLYING. Misha publicly humiliates Ryen several times throughout the book, using things she told him privately in her letters over the years against her to embarrass her in front of other people.
So- why did I like this? I loved Ryen, I thought she was such a complex and enticing character with a rich backstory. A mean girl who's only mean because she used to be on the other end of it, who's just doing what she feels she needs to do to survive? Yes. I am a little embarrassed to admit that this was me in high school, I don't think I was as mean as Ryen, but I definitely know the feeling of putting up with unwanted bullsh6t from guys and doing what you think you need to do to make people like you and make it out alive of the complete and utter h3ll hole that is high school.
That's another reason I loved this so much, the rich atmosphere of the setting, infused with drama and BULLSH5T, this book exposed high school for what it really is, and that is to say, completely sh7tty. I'm not judging you if you actually liked high school, I just distrust you very strongly if you think that it's supposed to be the best time of one's life.
I also absolutely adored the writing, the plot was fast-paced, dramatic, and twisty, and THE STEAM was sexy as all get out. Although, still, when a girl says no, it means no. Even if you think it's just because she's scared you're going to get caught having sex in a library, you should still probably get off her when she says, "I think we should stop."
Sigh. Oh, books.
So enjoyable, yet so problematic sometimes ...more
