Eve Dallas is one of my favorite authors, and I have been reading the In Death series since she first published Naked In Death in 1995. Now, book 60 of the series is out and I had to dive right into it.
Eve Dallas is in charge of homicide for the New York City police department in 2061 when she receives her newest case: Giovanni Rossi, who was killed by some unknown chemical shortly after flying into NY City. There is a strong connection to the Urban Wars ( a fictionally war set in 2024-2026) and potentially even Summerset had been part of an elite organization of 12 people.. I like meeting Summerset’s friends and how Eve and her team work on the case - someone closely associated with Summerset’s past.
Highly recommend Bonded in Death by JD Robb- great storyline, character development and the setting, of course is perfect! Ass the storyline develops and as the title reflects, the bonds between the original group and what they are willing to do to protect each other. The continued beloved characters that are a main focal point of the In Death series. I enjoy that it could be read as a stand alone (although I always recommend start with the first book, Naked in Death). I also liked the geeky stuff with technology and how the crime is analyzed. ...more

Narrator Susan Ericksen is wonderful, her diction and accents are perfect- highly recommend Ericksen as a narrator.
This book is a little more difficult to listen to/ read ( see trigger alerts at end of review)
Random in Death features our heroine- bad a$$ homicide Lieutenant, Eve Dallas and her mostly reformed husband, Roarke. This is an intense read!
Fans of the series get to continue reading about the development in the lives of their favorite characters incident Peabody, McNab, Somerset, Nadine, Jake and many other favorites. I do believe this can be read as a stand-alone.
Lieutenant Dallas has a murder to solve- a serial killer is targeting young women with his bacteria loaded drug dose that he viciously injects in random victims. She’s racing against the clock because his crimes are escalating.
What I love about Random in Death is that the pace seems to tighten up with this installment (number 58 in the series). A few of the past few books in the series just didn’t have the grit and the sparkle that most of the books have. (Of course, they were still good!) Random in Death has the action; pace, plot and tension readers want. The character development continues which is great.
J. D. Robb has a way of tying up the loose ends as well as interweaving character development in a tight plot that engages the reader’s interest from the beginning… and Robb truly shines in Random in Death. I am enjoying Eve Dallas’ changing role in her position in the homicide department. I also love the involvement from Nadine and Jake!

Helen, one of our main characters has had visions of herself dying in a fire. When I write visions, I mean intense, vivid, realistic visions where she feels all the pain of burning alive. So her fear is a gigantic obstacle to getting to the next chapter in her destiny. Drake Asher, a Theronai warrior has fallen hard for Helen and he is not about to let her give up on them being together.
I love the intricacies of the world that the Theronai, the Synestryn, the different abilities that they all have...and the romance between Hellen and Drake. There are also very interesting characters that I can't wait to get to know better! Definitely a good intro to be more committed to the series! I can't wait to read the rest of the series- so yes, that's a highly recommend from me!...more

BlaI absolutely love the two main characters, Blake and Wyatt they are believable and interesting...with their own stories that they tell themselves. Blake is so intelligent and bright, but she is missing some major clues: the clues around her ex and the clues about the handsome man she just had a fling with.
Now that this man is at her work site, and she's in the spotlight panic starts to set in so she sets up boundaries and rules on how things will go. Wyatt suddenly sees some things that are going on that don't feel right. Hmm. So there's this mystery in the middle of major spotlight attention and how is he going to get to the bottom of everything not to mention he is over his head with how he feels about the lovely Blake.
I really enjoyed this read, found it a fun escape and neat characters. Even a few characters that should have their own story! Definitely recommend!!!...more

First- and remind yourself as you read The Inheritance by Nora Roberts, that this is part one of a series. Remind you sled! Twisty plot, creative, magic and a haunted mansion with multiple ghosts! Highly recommend! Nora Roberts has created a new series, The Lost Bride Trilogy. Inheritance is the first in the series and captures my interest right away. I really love the intensity of the mystery where we see past and present lead toward Sonya claiming her inheritance in Maine. I am actually planning on being in Maine this summer, so the setting and location also peaked my interest. Roberts shows the reader the beauty and serenity found in a peaceful area while she builds the tension of a confrontation between the killer and Sonya to come.
Sonya and Trey have good chemistry. I like that much of the novel is about Sonya figuring out what is right for her. The ghosts brings in a bit of supernatural, which I feel Roberts handled perfectly. With just the right note of disbelief and suspense.
Overall, well written and I will definitely be reading the rest of the series!...more

I think not, author Ava Glass skipped slow and headed right into action from the first chapter and did not let up until the conclusion! Very well written- settings, character development and a twisty tight plot that reads like an incredible James Bond movie! (I can just hear the music in the background.)
Emma Makepeace, our heroine, has a mission to find the killer of one of their M16 secret agents. They suspect the Russians, but they need more proof so Emma heads undercover to work on a gorgeous yacht. I really like Emma she is highly intelligent, but her ways of thinking resonate so well. This fast paced suspense/mystery novel is action packed and has quite a few surprises in store!
Now I need to go find Alias Emma, the first part of the series. The Traitor read as such an outstanding standalone that I did not realize there was another book until I looked up the author's bio. So, it is fine to read on its own!...more

A disposable clone, Mickey has what it takes to stand out and be the hero that the world needs AGAIN. But, he also has numerous obstacles to overcome to get to be the hero. I definitely thinking this is a case where reading the first book just makes book two make more sense. (That's my recommendation)
Now he has a bomb to recover, the creepers to make peace with, characters on his ship like Marshall to handle and a possible copy of himself getting into danger. What could possibly go wrong?/

Natalie is in love with her new son, but being a stay at home mom is really challenging. She meets her new neighbor, Paul and finds he is very helpful. But is he?
Well, of course he's helpful, he has a hidden agenda. The tension starts to build and the plot starts to twist as we get to know Paul and Natalie and the other characters.
I think author Nora Murphy does an amazing job of handling what it can be like for new moms and creating awareness of some of the issues that can be challenging. It is easiest to relate to if you've been a new mom and have struggled... but I encourage everyone to read it just to simply get a piece of what it is like.
The plot is slow paced and does build, creating a tension that winds inside the pages until the end. I enjoyed reading The New Mother and do recommend it! Suspense and tension, told from Paul and Natalie's perspectives engage the reader! ...more

Esther gets pulled into a rebellion because she has nursing skills to save Nik when he is hurt. From that moment forward her life is not the same and she discovers that there are more people than she thought that are involved in the rebellion... including someone who is close to her. Feeling betrayed, studying for her final exam which could be her legitimate ticket off the ship, Esther is close to unravelling. She keeps getting pulled into the rebellion and doesn't know what she wants to do.
The emotion packed into this gripping novel is intense at times, but Esther and Nik have destinies to fill....and choices to make about their destinies. What will Esther do next?
I enjoyed this read, very good characters most are like normal everyday people that the reader can connect with. Some have high ambitions and some just want to be safe. Just like us. Definitely recommend this read!

What I loved about A Little Ray of Sunshine was the writing. Author Kristan Higgins writes with such honesty and such developed characters that it is hard not feel like I know them all. Even the character that was easy to dislike rubbed off on me- an example of the character development and plot that really made the story feel more.
