We’ve seen glimpses of him in prior books and know of his connection and unrequited love for Dimitri but in this book we learn there is more to him than the grumpy angel who’s held a torch for his fellow Seraphim.
Despite those unreturned feelings and Dimitri eventually following his heart to his mates in his book, Micah still has always shown up for him at oftentimes a painful cost to him. But beyond that gruff and in control facade, that is the heart of who he is, showing up for those he feels responsible for including the members of his unit who are like family to him.
This enemies to fated mates story was a good start to this series and I loved that these two MCs got to know one another as they both had their doubts. Seeing Micah and Nox fall in love with one another outside of the pull of the fated mates bond was definitely a good read. I enjoyed the back and forth banter between the two of them.
The next book in the series is Ezekiel’s book and I have my guesses as to who his fated mate will be for that story. I am hoping I am correct and can’t wait to see how that one turns out. Great start to a series!...more

And getting another chance to see Charles, Dave and FaustusI was so happy to see X getting his own story after reading about him in My Saintly Demon. And getting another chance to see Charles, Dave and Faustus was another treat. This is a short, fast read and very low angst and I definitely recommend reading Charles and Dave’s book as well.
Poor X had a lot thrown his way dealing with losing part of his magic, dealing with this terrible family and becoming cursed. All this and he’s still such a sweet character and makes Dave his baked goods (who could ask for a better friend?) With roommates that display their love often and everywhere, it doesn’t hurt that X has some voyeuristic tendencies. That leads a little to his first meeting with Clark and both characters realize something special is there. Now they just have to find a way to one another again and overcome some obstacles in their path.
The fated mate/insta-love feel fits these two perfectly cause they just kinda click and they compliment each other so well that I don’t think I could see it any other way. Definitely an enjoyable read!...more

It’s finally Dalton’s story with Larken as his fated mate. Dalton has held a crush on Axel for some time and in the previous book, I felt the sense that Axel’s new relationship was tough for Dalton to handle. Not just for the attraction aspect but for the loss of opportunity to have a family which he really craved.
I liked the friends first feel to their relationship as both Dalton and Larken find themselves in a friends with more arrangement after commiserating on their similar situations. It’s not until things progress and the ramifications of the beta sickness change things for both of these characters and they begin to realize how they really feel for one another and how to move forward. I love the HEA for these two characters and the found family part of the story that these two characters deserve.
I love the underlying story and so curious as to how this plays out in the final book. I’ve been reading this series since the first book came out so I have come to really enjoy these characters. This is absolutely a series you need to read in order even though some parts of the storyline overlap. I’m curious as to the final mate pairing and how that will affect the pack and what challenges it will bring. ...more

I’m working my way through the entire anthology and have enjoyed what I’ve read so far!
Prey for Us Sinners - Jessie Walker This short story was just the right morsel to have me craving more of these two characters. Ophelia and Winifred are childhood best friends that have faced some dark twists and tragic turns and after not speaking for many years, have found themselves back in each other’s lives yet again. I’ve read dark romances from this author before but was not prepared for some of the surprises I found in this story. It kept me captivated until the final word and on the edge and I can only hope that I come across these two again.
Devil May Dare-Chani Lynn Feener I haven’t had a chance to read this author before and out of all the short stories, I was looking forward to this one the most. This was the perfect introduction to someone who hasn’t read the series before. I really enjoyed the characters and it has me excited to dive into the series and meet some of the characters mentioned in this story.
Warring Fixation - Lola Malone Definitely need to read more of Astor’s story! This tale is based in a fictional universe where different territories meet for an annual games. The political tension between the various houses is the underlying current that these academy aged characters can’t seem to avoid. There is a fair amount of world building for the universe and also hints at the backstory for one of the MCs. Looking to hopefully read more of this universe!...more

Bryan experienced some traumatic events in the last book and book After reading the previous book, I was hoping Bryan and Tobias would get their HEA. Bryan experienced some traumatic events in the last book and book 3 picks up as Bryan hopes to run from these past events and hopefully find some sort of comfort from the dark places his mind is traveling.
While he’s dealing with all these chaotic emotions, he’s also leaving Tobias behind. Tobias has been waiting for his fated mate for years and finally finding him only to have him turn around and run away is difficult for him to cope with but he tries to be understanding given the circumstances.
I loved how understanding Tobias’ character is during this whole book. Bryan’s agency has been taken away from through the actions of others and I appreciate how despite his desire to be with his mate, his protectiveness of both Bryan’s person and emotional state is his most important concern.
I am curious about the introduction of Michael and Danny’s characters. Neither character is a supernatural being and being hunters puts them at odds with the supernatural community. And even though they seem to have a lot of knowledge of things, it feels like there is a lot for them to learn including about themselves. Can’t wait for this one!...more

I don’t even have words for just how sweet these two characters are in this second installment in the Goliaths of Wresting series. After reading book 1, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this one. Larkin seemed like quite the character in the first story and Seb was the perfect match for his character. This was such an enjoyable read so pardon any gushing in this review.
Larkin is Holt’s assistant and even though it seems like he’s more hassle than help sometimes, he’s a ray of sunshine and seems to somehow get the job done enough that he hasn’t been fired yet by Holt. He eyes all the wrestlers and flirts with all of them but is hiding something and talks a good game. He’s the complete opposite to Seb who is the quiet crossword puzzle bodyguard for Holt and has been secretly harboring a crush since Larkin first walked in the door. When Larkin approaches him with his idea, it’s more than Seb ever expected and he struggles with keeping his emotions in check and trying to keep this the causal experiment that Larkin is supposedly looking for.
Lily Mayne does a fantastic job at the rom-com genre and I think I read the entire book smiling. I giggled during the whole diner scene because Larkin’s parents are just gold, pure gold. Seeing these two realize their arrangement is becoming something more for both of them was so sweet and loved that they got their HEA.
I can’t wait for the next one and the set up for Rafe and Dan looks awesome. I am also praying to the gods of spandex and lycra that Corey gets a book!!...more
The fourth book in the Damned Connections series and finally Danny and Riley’s book. This book was different than the other books regarding timelines The fourth book in the Damned Connections series and finally Danny and Riley’s book. This book was different than the other books regarding timelines which was a nice change of pace. The prologue connects with the same timeline as the other three books but the balance of the book takes place several years ahead. I appreciated that as I wasn’t trying to remember and connect events.
These two characters have been the two of the entire group not interested in relationships or mates and we learn more behind the reasoning and the back story for both characters. Both Danny and Riley have their walls up for various reasons and their reluctance to deal with relationships is more understandable once you learn more about them.
Happy that these two finally sorted out their issues and got the HEA. It took me some time to warm up to Riley’s character and sometimes I questioned Danny’s actions and motives behind them. Definitely interested in learning more about Danny’s clan and the other characters that are introduced in this installment! ...more
I honestly don’t know where to start with this review. I’m a huge fan of paranormal shifter romances and they were one of my first type of reads when I honestly don’t know where to start with this review. I’m a huge fan of paranormal shifter romances and they were one of my first type of reads when I started to really back into reading. So when I saw another reader recommend this book, I knew I had to give it a read. And I was not disappointed at all. It’s the first book in a new series and I already can’t wait for the next one.
Connor and Phoenix are wolf shifters that are from two different packs that happen to be locked in a decades long territorial war. Both of their respective parents are alphas of their packs so the expectations of them are high and as the book begins, we learn they keep their budding relationship as secret as they can before duties and obligations to pack and family catch up with them and tear the young lovers apart.
As the timeline bounces between the past and the present, the two lovers are thrown back together in a twist of fate and must navigate their new reality as a married couple forming their own pack on new lands against the backdrop of hurt from the past. It’s just the right amount of angst for a second chance romance/arranged marriage story and the dual POV was perfect. I loved seeing into both of their heads as they navigate those early months of their marriage.
I can’t wait to see what comes next in this universe. There are glimpses are what I hope are potential storylines and the underlying mysteries that are waiting to be solved. This was a fantastic start to a new series!...more
Excited to finally get to read Blaise and Toby’s story and was looking forward to reading more of the fire mage and vampire. The story picks up after Excited to finally get to read Blaise and Toby’s story and was looking forward to reading more of the fire mage and vampire. The story picks up after Deal with the Devil and I highly recommend reading that series at least before reading this book. This book takes place alongside the remainder of that series and through the new series of books that follow this group of demons and supernatural beings and gives that behind the scene look at these two characters that has been alluded to but always felt like “what are these two up to?”
Blaise is hurting when we meet him at the start of the story. Events that take place in Harlow and Bailey’s book weigh heavily on him and he can’t shake the guilt that he feels. Things may have worked out for everyone in the end but he still holds on to the feelings. Tobias sees the broken supe sitting at the bar and feels this pull to help him like he’s helped others before by entering into a contract but things start to get fuzzy with both characters start catching feelings.
As the entire group of supernaturals face one hurdle after the other, Toby deals with the effects of helping Blaise in secret and keeping everyone in the dark about the struggles he’s facing. The angst builds as Blaise pushes back against the confines of their contract and the walls Toby has built around himself to protect his heart. I enjoyed seeing Blaise’s progression throughout the book and another HEA with all the feels.
Looking forward to what’s ahead for this group. Danny’s definitely his own story and there feels like so much backstory for him and whatever walls he’s built up over the years. And there are so many characters that I’m curious as to where the author is taking us on this journey! ...more
Paranormal romances are some of my favorite reads and The Sweetwater Pack series is one of my favorites that I’ve come across over the last two years Paranormal romances are some of my favorite reads and The Sweetwater Pack series is one of my favorites that I’ve come across over the last two years and I look forward to each new release. I have been excited for Axel’s story as pieces of his storyline have been hinted at in prior books. And this is a series I recommend reading what’s come before.
Axel is newly awakened from his illness and is slowly regaining his health back accompanied by the ever watchful and concerned Teàrlach. Teàrlach is one of the elves that’s come over from the fae world to help the pack battle the beta sickness that’s threatened them. The elves hope that solving this matter will help solve their own issues. I loved the little ways he’s slowly trying to learn Axel’s world from how to court Axel and their dates along the way. And I love how steadfast he is about his feelings for Axel. It’s beyond swoon worthy. I enjoyed seeing these two develop their relationship over the course of the book and how things change and develop for the pack and fae world.
Since the book covers some events from prior books, I appreciated there being helpful/brief run downs of some of the important parts without being repetitive. Seeing how Axel and Teàrlach’s were affected by some of the events was interesting and different perspective.
I’m looking forward to what comes ahead for this series-I won’t spoil but how do all the characters manage with some of the changes that have occurred in this book is something I can’t wait to read. Hoping Dalton gets his HEA and I am so curious as to who this omega will find as his alpha. I guess I’ll have to wait and see!...more

I’ve reaWhen I first started getting back into reading a few years ago, paranormal shifter romances were some of the first stories I started reading. I’ve read so many different types since then but those still hold a special place for me. The Dark Forest Pack series was a random recommendation one day on my kindle and since then, a series I’ve enjoyed book after book.
This spinoff book takes place after Loving Jake, the last book in the Dark Forest Pack series and follows Wyn, Syl and Chylath, characters introduced in this series. The tension and the angst between these three characters was just so well done. The push and pull between what they want versus what the expectations/complications are of a relationship between a wolf shifter, a witch and a fae who is destined to return to fae lands just really came off the pages and I couldn’t wait to see how this all played out.
I enjoyed reading all three characters and how they seemed to mesh together and understand one another but Syl was the one that I absolutely cheering for. The hope for a soul bond with a mate has been such a big part for him, something he’s waited for and considered might not happen. And then it’s there and just a little out of his reach and it’s different from what he thought it would look like.
And then add this angsty goodness on top of the background mystery of a rogue alpha using illegal magic and missing witches. Definitely didn’t want to put this book down until I saw how it ended with a well earned and deserved HEA for all. I also enjoyed catching up with characters from the series. This was certainly a great addition to the original series!...more

After reading book 1, I was looking forward to reading Nathaniel’s story and learning more about his character. Pierce thinks so highly of him that I was glad to see he was getting his own HEA. I think this can be a standalone read but it’s always helpful to read what’s come before.
Nathaniel, king of the vampires, attends a meeting at the witches coven to discuss the unaliving of witches and warlocks in the city by a rogue vampire. In an effort to prevent mass destruction and loss of life, Ethan, the witch queen’s only child proposes to Nathaniel. Each MC is keeping secrets from the other as they enter this marriage. For Nathaniel, it’s more than a political marriage as he realizes that Ethan is his mate and Ethan has been using a spelled mirror to see the future and is trying to prevent absolute chaos which is why he has proposed in the first place.
I enjoyed how their relationship develops throughout the story. Between secrets they are hiding and realizations that occur along the way, it didn’t feel like your typical fated mate/insta-love story and that was a nice change of pace. Ethan’s attraction to Nathaniel grows more organically as he learns more about him and sees who is truly is from his actions (and may be little help from the mate bond). Nathaniel sees how caring Ethan is and although he knows that he is hiding something, he agrees to go along with Ethan’s dangerous plans to save the city.
I am looking forward to Bryan and Tobias’ story. Bryan obviously has things to process after the events of this book and interested in how things will play out with how protective Tobias seems to be towards him. And I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Thierry has a story coming as well!...more
My first time reading this author and Dima and Casey were my introduction to the Fantasy Flatmates series and bestie, I really enjoyed this paranormalMy first time reading this author and Dima and Casey were my introduction to the Fantasy Flatmates series and bestie, I really enjoyed this paranormal universe. It’s a new spin on the vampire legends where they aren’t this species hiding in the shadows, secretly running the world but have turning facilities and these kinda hilarious names they choose when they become turned. It blended the familiar lore with modern times and how these long standing species might deal with new technology.
I loved the characters-a telepathic, telekinetic, quilting vampire and a germaphobe, self-absorbed telepathic human seem like they might not be a match but Dima and Casey had a great dynamic. Dima keeps Casey at a distance, emotionally and mentally for quite some time as he has kept a lot of people away for so long. He’s built up the walls around himself after being hurt so long ago by Casey’s master, Killian. Casey isn’t this lovable character but he’s funny and upfront about things and for Dima who can tell when people say one thing and think another, a relationship with him is something he doesn’t want to allow himself to have.
I also loved how this combined some laugh out loud moments with some more emotional times. The secondary characters were also such a good addition. Killian very well may be a centuries old frat boy but I did see him in an entirely new light at the end of the story.
I definitely plan on going back and reading the prior books because I’m curious about Goldie but I am hoping Mal gets a story as well. I don’t know too much about their character but it feels like there is a little sadness that I am hoping gets turned around.

It’s a paranormal mystery with ties to Celtic mythology and I was grateful for the author’s footnotes and guide. It follows the events of book 1 and Nelson and Nox are still trying make sense in a way of what happened when more mysterious events keep taking place.
The connection between the two MCs seems to keep growing and Nelson struggles to keep up with all the new information that is being thrown upon him while keeping Nox grounded and protected and away from Him. The story starts with some spice between the two characters and you can almost feel the chemistry between these two throughout the story.
Nox feels like such a contrast to the gruff character of Nelson. Dealing with the looming curse above his head and people/magic out to get him at what feels like every turn. Who can he really trust is a question I found myself asking while reading. I love the fact that he never feels overwhelmed and doesn’t have a defeatist attitude and keeps this positive mindset throughout the whole book.
The book ends with discoveries, uncovering of truths and learning some history that feels like a betrayal for Nelson and most importantly Nox. It feels like the clock is ticking for him to deal with the Dagda but the addition of the imposter has added another layer to the whole situation that makes this feel almost impossible for Nox. I can’t wait for the final installment to see how this all wraps up!...more

It’s my first read of the series and it can be a standalone. It was a fast read for me and I finished it in one day. It has a light hearted vibe to it but does deal with some heavy topics over the course of the book.
Nox is such a bundle of sweetness and energy who’s sometimes naive about the way the human world works despite being as old as the universe. He’s the perfect compliment to Cyrus who has had a difficult past and an atrocious ex-boyfriend who betrayed trust, crossed boundaries and done some awful things. Cyrus deserves all the goodness and is a sweet character as well. He’s a NICU nurse who is working through his past and I appreciated the open and honest way that his mental health journey was just part of the story and part of him.
It’s a low angst read but definitely check out the author’s webpage for content warnings for this book. There are some events on page as well as prior events both experienced by one MC that are sensitive topics and the author gives detail as to which chapters in case the reader might want to avoid those discussions.
I’m looking forward to reading more of this paranormal series and liked how characters from other stories appear enough to pique interest in their story but not that I felt I was missing out on something because I haven’t read that book yet. I know that she writes more contemporary romances so I was intrigued by this dip into paranormal and I was not disappointed. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job throughout the whole novel.
I normally stay away from MF stories but I liked the FMC in this story - she's been through quite a bit, funny and able to hold her own. She doesn't get the whole human emotion thing and sarcasm seems to be her go to. She's the perfect match to the MMC. The entire book is through her POV but you get small slivers into this thought process through the little blurbs in the beginning of each chapter.
It was an interesting twist at the end, some of which I figured out part way through the book but didn't anticipate the entirety of the mystery and deception. There are a number of surprises so definitely hold out to the end to get to the all those parts. ...more
