I didn't know what to expect when I started this book. I know that she writes more contemporary romances so I was intrigued by this dip into paranormal and I was not disappointed. I thought the narrator did a fantastic job throughout the whole novel.

I normally stay away from MF stories but I liked the FMC in this story - she's been through quite a bit, funny and able to hold her own. She doesn't get the whole human emotion thing and sarcasm seems to be her go to. She's the perfect match to the MMC. The entire book is through her POV but you get small slivers into this thought process through the little blurbs in the beginning of each chapter.

It was an interesting twist at the end, some of which I figured out part way through the book but didn't anticipate the entirety of the mystery and deception. There are a number of surprises so definitely hold out to the end to get to the all those parts.
