I haven't been this moved by a BDSM focused book in ages. It hit all the things I love and I cried multiple times. I love these two broken people with my whole heart.
I was immediately hooked on both of these characters. Gerard Sovereign was a mountain of a man, both in stature and in presence. He is a man who commands respect and deference. He oozes control and sex appeal. Keira Garrison is an obedient and cloistered wife of his rival. From the first moment they meet, the connection is electric. For her, it's frightening and can't mean anything good. For him, it's the beginning of his final revenge. He'll destroy his for and take the spoils of war.
This book was hot as hell, there is no doubt and it has all the kinky situations you could ask for. BUT, I feel like that description doesn't do justice to the way my heart was aching for them both. I don't want to belittle the deep connection I felt to them or how romantic I actually found this to be.
Gerard and Keira have burrowed deeply into my heart so quickly. I'll remember their quiet moments of connection as much as the erotic scenes. There is just something special about watching their trust build and their love grow.
She might feel like she has no choice and Gerard HAS manipulated events to make it appear that way. But watching her discover that her submission means she can have everything her heart has longed for.. they can both be winners. After life dealt them both shitty hands, these two orphans can find a home together.
I have always said that "BDSM used for healing" is one of my favorite things to read. That is true. Yet, I feel like it's not something I see too often anymore. Many authors throw a "spank and a good girl" into their books for the fun of it. And hey, it CAN be super fun to read. Yet that's not BDSM just because she calls him "sir", there's something more that I crave. This book did that for me. Because once you see a couple that NEEDS intimacy this way... it's hard to not see other versions as a pale comparison.
I have never heard of Raya Morris Edwards before, but she certainly has my attention now. I highly recommend this book to lovers of Dark and Erotic Romance. Fans of Godwin and Simone may also find enjoyment here. There are many triggers, so check out the author's site for a full list, but I also didn't find this to be "too dark", though I know that's subjective. But a lot of the focus is on their relationship and their interactions are not abusive or coercive beyond Gerard "urging" fate to put them together.

For real though, I was a *tad* thrown by the tense choice, as it's not my normal favorite for a romance. BUT, I quickly got into it, so if it feels a bit off to you, please push on through because this was a lovely journey.
I actually LOVE Escort Romances of all kinds. They are surprisingly harder to find than you think. One that are more than just a novella or a single experience. I also enjoy BDSM when it's being explored and transformed for the two people doing it. This book was a wonderful melding of both. Add in a billionaire who wants to spoil his pet... I am ready for the ride.
I loved Nikolai & Corinne's chemistry from the jump, I was impressed with the immediate and ever evolving discussions of limits and likes and dislikes. The pleasure of finding someone you will be working with suits your personal needs so well. It felt so good. I find negotiations to be extremely steamy and they build anticipation for the fun to come. It was such a joy to read them done in such a natural way. Like, the conversation is essential but that doesn't mean it can't be hot.
Anyway, read the content labels if you want a list of all the fun stuff, but there was nothing overly intense or too niche. It was very approachable while still pushing the limits just a bit. It definitely had me wanting a collar of my own if it can be as stunning as Corinne's was. IYKYK. I really enjoyed this and the way it all wrapped up was the perfect bow on top. I really look forward to more novels from this writing duo.

I love that anThis series continues to surprise me in the best way. The way things unfolded between Sadie and Luke was not how I thought it would go. I love that an author I've read so much from can still surprise me with each read yet still stay true to the characters they created.
Sadie's life is a little out of sync and now she's pregnant from a one night stand. With no idea what to do next and feeling a spiral on the horizon she finds herself moving in with Luke Goode. Her college professor. Of course, he is more than that but he's also still virtually a stranger. There's just something about him that helps settle her chaos.
Luke has kept himself distant from Austin for as long as he could. He's only here to punch a card and get his dream job, he's all about work. Or so he tells himself. I was shocked and pleased by just how much he really is involved with a certain family member of his. I may have squealed with joy when certain reveals happened.
But what he really isn't planning to do is get involved with his wayward student. Who frustrates and intrigues him in equal measure. That is a dangerous thing for him. Yet he still invites her to live with him and as he and Sadie embark on a unique Dom/sub dynamic (completely devoid of sex, of course!), he finds himself getting sucked in deeper and deeper, while learning more about himself than he ever imagined.
There's supposed to be a time limit on this whole scenario. He's leaving and she's cooking a bun in the oven. But when things become way too real for them and the attraction spills over, how can they ever continue on with how things were before? Not when they both now have something to really live for?
I loved this couple so much. I loved the different take on Dom/sub dynamics. Sadie's betting was just the right amount and watching the heat rise between them was delicious! All of this was elevated by the powerful narration performances of Jason Clarke & CJ Bloom. They were in duet style and it brought chills to me while I listened.
This book also has me almost at a fever pitch for the Prodigal Son. I cannot wait to see how Sara brings it all together.

Anabelle needs to stop her family from losing everything so she throws herself on the mercy of Asher Voss. She knows it's a long shot but the mysterious death of her father has left her desperate. She's willing to do anything, even become a servant for 365 days to the cruel billionaire who holds her fate in his hands.
From there, it really DOES follow the tale of B&B that we know so well. Just add in a dash of k!nky spice and a brooding brother or three. I am really looking forward to the next books in the series too. Midnight Manor seems like a place I will enjoy getting to know better. I'm already trying to parce out which tale each brother will have.
I listened to the audio book version of this book. Narrated by Rose Dioro & Marcio Catalano in the duet style. I enjoyed them a lot, however, there did seem to be some unevenness in volume and within the same scene i went from being unable to hear a voice, so I'd turn it up and then have my eardrums busted the next. But their performance was on point!

I really enjoyed this peek into Iris and David's marriage and their dynamic. They have been together for decades and things have gotten a little too routine in their bedroom play. When they agree to a more extreme type of play that pushes their trust in each other... it leads to some tough moments but also shows them why they do what they do. You don't live a 24/7 dynamic for decades just because. There has to be a soul deep connection and faith in both D and s.
This story really pushed me. I thought I knew what edging could be but I've never seen it like this. I know not everyone is going to want to dive into certain k!nks but I think readers who like exploring dynamics and experiencing things they wouldn't normally gravitate to will find this beautiful.
I left this novella feeling very happy for David and Iris and the loving marriage they have. While this wasn't a "marriage in trouble" (there's never a fear they are going to break up), it was a good look at how a marriage AND a dynmaic can evolve and shift to be what they need at that time. Also gaining a new appreciation for your spouse. It just so happens to be collared in k!nk!
I can't wait to see what other situations the k!nkotica series will bring us.

CW: While there aren't really "triggers" in my opinion, the author does have an extensive list of content in the beginning of the book so you can decide if you feel comfortable.

This was so beautiful. This h0rny little book made me cry 3 times.. just wonderful.
There is just something about how Sara Cate writes Er0tic Romance. You think you're just in for a twisted, spicy time and then she brings the heart and soul to it. I was deeply moved by the journey of Caleb and Briar and how they opened their marriage and their hearts to Dean. What starts as possible messy ending to a marriage in crisis... ends up being their salvation.
I loved seeing them all connect in such a genuine way. They each found contentment and romance in their individual relationships as well as in the thruple. Which is everything I want from a trio. Each member is vital and they couldn't go on with anyone missing. That is something that not all authors can balance.
I also found Dean's personal story with his father to be so moving. Seeing Caleb and Briar be there to support him and lift him up was just heartwarming.
The heat and dash of naughtiness in the beginning was of course, delightful. If you are worried about cheating (as am I, it's usually a HARD no for me), this fits the story and is quickly used to push all three of them together.. It's a mutual cheat that can happen in MMF, if you catch my drift. Just trust Sara Cate and dive into it.

I love how this author can balance k!nk exploration within a new relationship and still make me believe the natural growth of the couple. Meegan and Olin were so charming together. I was rooting for them to discuss what they wanted and come to an understanding to benefit everyone. I loved how they engaged each other's desires and discovered what would work best for them both.
Olin was so endearing and I felt for him with the awkward situations he kept finding himself in. When Meegan agrees to be his fake girlfriend.. they just gel together so well and I completely believed they would lose the "fake" aspect as quick as they could.
I also really appreciated that Meegan was upfront and honest about what she needs from a relationship and didn't try to conform to something she thought Olin would need. By sharing her desires with him.. she really ended up winning the best of both worlds.
The scenes that deal with Olin's autism in such a real way were very powerful. I don't have any real world experience to compare it to, but I felt like I got a window into a scenario that could happen and the Meegan was there for him and supported him had me tearing up.
If you've read this author before, you'll know what you're in for and also be in for a treat with some lovely cameos. If this is your first time, I hope you give it a chance and experience something new.
