I had tried to read this maybe around 2003 or 2004 and couldn't get interested in it. Perhaps because of all the books I've recently been reading thatI had tried to read this maybe around 2003 or 2004 and couldn't get interested in it. Perhaps because of all the books I've recently been reading that are either set in India or are about Yoga or Eastern Religions, this time, I really liked the book.
I loved Pi's adoption of ALL the major religions as his. I tend to believe that "all paths lead to God". A large part of the book reminded me of the Tom Hanks movie "Castaway". Also, a little "Island of the Blue Dolphins".

I was disappointed in the ending because it forced me to look at the story in a different way. It made me sad.
