“There’s something going on between us that’s …I don’t know…interesting. I knew it the moment I saw you.” “I want you.”
Boyfriend Bargain was such a highly anticipated read for me; sports romances are my kryptonite that I just can’t ever resist, especially hockey players who kill it on the ice. Ilsa Madden-Mills is such a phenomenal writer. I always find myself being drawn into her smart and sophisticated story lines and her well thought-out and developed characters that I always love getting to know. This story hooked me from the very start and kept me utterly captivated right up until the very last word was read. Anyone who loves their new adult college sports romances will just devour this story about the heartbreaking super star hockey player and the college student who is trying to achieve her dreams.
Zack Morgan is the star hockey player at Hawthorne University and the NHL’s number one draft pick. He is surrounded by love and praise; men want to be him, and women want to be with him. He’s known around campus as a player with so many broken hearts following in his wake.
If there was ever a polar opposite to Z it would be Sugar Ryan. She is an intelligent and shy pre-law student who has so much willpower and determination to the point where I consider her an inspiration. Her hard work is evident considering she has come from a trailer park to one of the most expensive and prestigious universities in the country. She has applied to the Vanderbilt Law School, which is the final stepping stone for her to truly achieve her dreams. This is a mammoth effort considering she has had to do it all on her own. Unfortunately, Sugar has been waitlisted in order to attend Vanderbilt and may need the help of one particular star hockey player to seal the deal.
I absolutely loved and adored Zack and Sugars relationship from their very first encounter. Their intense and powerful chemistry was truly electrifying and the attraction was positively magnetic. Zack is drawn to Sugar by forces he can’t possibly understand. She intrigues in ways he’s never felt before and the more time he spends with her, the more he can’t seem to resist the quirky and introverted Sugar. Sugar does not date star athletes, but needs him and the more she opens up, the more she wants Zack too.
Boyfriend Bargain was such an enjoyable read filled with a lot of fun and witty banter, hot and steamy scenes, and a deep and profound connection between two people who were as different as night and day. Their attraction and sexual tension was fierce and I could not get enough of these two. They were utter perfection. If you’re anything like me and love your sports romances than look no further than the Boyfriend Bargain. I highly recommend one clicking your copy today.

“Gemma was worth fighting for. And I was all in.”
Wow! I absolutely loved The Wrong Game. Kandi Steiner’s writing is simply poetic genius; all of her stories have the ability to make me feel every emotion thinkable. She is a true storyteller and I always look forward to her newest release. The Wrong Game is a captivating and fun sports romance that I would definitely categorise as a must read.
Gemma is a super organised person who lives her life by lists and plans. Even to the point where she plans out conversations she is going to have, what she is going to say, what they are going to say and the repercussions of said conversation. Gemma has suffered immense pain and loss and my heart literally broke for her. I wondered whilst reading how I would ever overcome what Gemma’s been through? I had no answers, except for like Gemma I would always and forever stick to my plan and never deviate.
“I made one simple plan, with one simple rule. Never fall in love again. It was more than just a plan, more than just a goal. It was a promise. And it was one I vowed to keep.”
Gemma’s best friend Belle thinks she can come up with the perfect solution to help her friend. She needs to get laid and Belle knows the perfect way. With Belle’s suggestion she will soon become every living and breathing hot blooded male’s perfect date; a free pass to the football with a beautiful woman. No attachments and no feelings involved; a different guy for each home game of the Chicago Bears. Maybe through these dates she just might be able to forget about her loss and heartbreak for a while and have some much deserved fun.
Zach, who is a bartender at the sports bar, overhears Belle trying to convince Gemma take a risk and have a little fun. Zach can think of nothing better than to volunteer to be her first date to the football. Zach is instantly drawn to Gemma from the first moment he lays eyes on her and the fact she loves football is every guys dream girl.
“I wondered what the hell I could say to her to get her to see me – really see me – before she walked out of that bar.”
I absolutely loved Zach; he was so caring, sincere and positively adorable. He knows Gemma hides behind the giant wall she has built in order to protect her heart, but he is determined to break through her shield, piece by piece.
I loved the relationship between Gemma and Zach. It was hot as hell, they had great chemistry and the tension was just the right amount to keep me invested. I loved their interactions and witty banter, it was hilarious and they just made for the perfect literary couple.
“I had surrendered to my feelings for him, backing down on a plan I was so hell bent on sticking with. And now, I was no longer in control. That both excited and terrified me.”
The Wrong Game was an absolutely joy and privilege to read. It was sweet, sexy, hilarious, yet emotional in parts. If you love your slightly angsty sports romances then you need to look no further because Gemma and Zach’s journey is sure to melt your heart.

“I saw you first. I had you first. I want you back.”
Wow! Kennedy Ryan is a phenomenal writer, her stories always grab your attention from the very first word and keep you completely mesmerised and captivated right up until the very last word has sunk in. Block Shot is the second instalment in Kennedy Ryan’s Hoops series and can absolutely be read as a standalone. However, after reading this, you’ll definitely want to read anything this compelling author has produced. If you are a fan of sports romances then I urge you to get your hands on Block Shot.
Banner and Jared first meet while in college and they have an automatic pull towards each other; an undeniable attraction and chemistry. Due to certain events things don’t go as planned and they go their separate ways. After graduating from college, both Banner and Jared become big time sports agents in the lucrative world of NBA. Working in the same industry they are bound to cross paths at some point in the future and after years apart that time has come.
Although they have spent so many years apart, it is apparent their feelings for one another were still as strong as ever. One of the things I loved most about their relationship was the fact that they really seemed to get each other and saw what was really important; what was deep inside. I really felt that their love was meant to be and a love that should span the test of time and last forever.
“I want your dirt and your pain and your darkness. Your weakness and your flaws.”
Banner was an absolute inspiration and a heroine that needed to be written. She had so many amazing traits that I admire and I kind of wished I was just like her. She portrayed so much strength, independence, resilience and love. She was so real to me, had so many personal doubts about herself and self-shaming. It sends a very important message to us all that nobody is perfect and beauty runs skin deep.
Jared was beauty personified. If you want to meet a hero that will positively make you swoon then Jared is your guy. Jared’s love for Banner was so strong and spanned so many years. He never cared about what she looked like, he simply loved Banner for what was deep inside her and that just made me love him even more.
“I don’t want you for good, Banner…I want you forever.”
Block Shot was such a beautiful and important story to be told. I am so thankful for having read it. It was powerful, thought provoking, emotional yet fun story all rolled into one. If you love your second chance and sports romances then I definitely recommend you one click Block Shot.

“She’s vowed to hate him for all eternity. He’s vowed to love her forever. Can a second chance be the tiebreaker?”
Ok… so first thing I need to point out to everyone is this cover… holy moly… hot or what? Yes I will admit that P Dangelico had me at the cover of Tiebreaker. I am a massive sucker for second chance love stories; it’s probably my favorite trope to read. I love the angst and anticipation of giving in to what your heart truly desires and giving that special person who completes you a second chance. I love the intensity of what these fierce emotions bring out between each page. This is my first book by P Dangelico and I really enjoyed it, so it definitely won’t be my last. I can’t wait to discover what other amazing stories she has to offer.
Maren is a professional tennis player at the height of her career, which is until she receives the unfortunate news that her grandfather has passed away. As the executor to her grandfather’s estate, Maren has no option but to return home; a place where she has avoided at all costs. Home is a place where she has suffered immense heartache and where she will have no other option but to face the man who tore her heart to shreds, Noah Callahan.
When Maren was a child, she worshipped the ground Noah walked on. He was her everything to her and more. She loved Noah like she loved the game of tennis; with her whole body, heart and soul. What started out as a deep seeded friendship, soon turned into something so much more, that is until Noah betrays Maren and ruins everything between them. With the ultimate heartache Marin has no other option but to run and vows she will never forgive Noah for as long as she lives.
“On jump,” she repeated, licking her lips, the first sign that she was nervous. With those two words, I closed my fingers tightly around her small hand and started counting. And on jump, hand in hand, we stepped off the ledge together grinning like fools. It only took me another decade to figure out that was the day I fell for Maren Murphy.”
Noah has never stopped loving Maren and breaking her heart is his life’s greatest regret. Knowing her grandfather has recently passed away, Noah is sure he will soon come face to face with the love of his life once more. Noah is set to face the next challenge in his life, and that is getting Marin to forgive him and learn to love him once more. Noah certainly has his work cut out for him though, because even after all these years Maren is still angry and has returned home with a massive chip on her shoulder. It’s now Maren’s turn to take centre court and this time Noah will be playing by her rules.
I know some readers will have issues with Noah and may not read Tiebreaker as a result of some actions and mistakes he makes, which is completely understandable, but I didn’t really have an issue with anything I read, I was just hoping, whilst I continued to read, that Maren wouldn’t become a doormat and hence would make Noah grovel and plead for forgiveness. Maren I found was strong-willed, determined and she sure didn’t let Noah walk all over her. She stood up to him and made her feelings perfectly clear about the way he hurt her a decade ago.
“Noah Callahan became mine the moment I laid eyes on him and nothing would’ve convinced my ten-year-old self otherwise.”
If there is one couple that needed hope, faith and forgiveness it was definitely Maren and Noah. Now that she’s back its Noah’s chance to finally make things right after ten years and hope like hell that the only woman he’s ever loved will eventually forgive him and give him a second chance. Will Noah and Maren get their long sought after HEA, or will Noah stuff it up again?
P Dangelico wrote an addictive and all-consuming second chance love story that I was fully invested in from start to finish. It contained the perfect amount of angst and emotion and was written both in past and present day skilfully, to not take away from the story and become confusing. I get this may not be everybody’s cuppa, but I personally loved it. If you are a fan of second chance love stories and sport romances then I suggest checking this one out.

“On and off the field, you’re my hardest fall. No one has ever compared, and no one ever will.”
I truly loved The Hardest Fall. This story included some of my favorite things to read; sports romance, angst and the slow burn which is to the point of perfection, not annoyance. I devoured every beautifully and carefully crafted word Ella Maise produced. The only downer for me reading this was that it ended.
There are a few words that come to mind when thinking back to Dylan and Zoe’s first encounter; awkward, embarrassing and hilarious come to mind first. Dylan is using the bathroom at a party with a fellow teammate (weird, I know right!), when a girl comes barging in and stops in shock, like a deer in headlights, when she sees Dylan relieving his bladder.
Not the ideal first encounter, but I just loved Zoe during this weird and embarrassing exchange. She was shy, awkward and so cute. The more she tried to explain herself, the more of a hole she dug for herself and the quicker she spoke as a way of explaining the weird situation she had found herself in with Dylan. You just have to read this exchange to really appreciate how amazing it was written.
The Hardest Fall is about fate, when the first or second time may not be the right time, or due to circumstances beyond your control, you have to have faith that the universe will bring you back to your one true love eventually.
“My heart had missed beating like this, for him, only for him”
The intense chemistry and adoration both Dylan and Zoe showcased literally melted my heart. I love reading a romance story where I am so sucked into the characters and their relationship that I feel every emotion, every beautifully spoken word, every want and every crave.
This story was not all ray of sunshine and rainbows however, Ella really touches on some tough topics to conquer in regards to college life, family and other personal struggles. I’m not going to go into certain scenes or situations as this novel just needs to be read, devoured and enjoyed with no spoilers.
If you are looking for your next story to be exquisitely written with characters you can’t help but fall in love with, and want surprises with each turn of the page, then look no further as The Hardest Fall is what you have been searching for. Recommended for all who enjoy their angsty, slow burn sports romances and I have no doubt you will enjoy the ride that is Zoe and Dylan.

“She’s the one girl he shouldn’t want…”
If there is one thing Elle Kennedy knows how to do and I mean do phenomenally well, it is write amazing sports/college romances. I fell in love with her storytelling way back when I read her Off-Campus series, which is still one of my favorite sports romance series of all time. Her latest story, The Chase, kept me fully invested from start to finish with Elle’s signature smart and witty writing. The characters were as different as night and day. I love a great story where opposites attract and the plot got better and better with each turn of the page.
Summer Di Laurentis is Dean’s little sister and for anyone who has read The Score, then you know who Dean is. Summer is new to Briar U, she was forced to leave her former Ivy League college due to being in a whole heap of trouble. Summer arrives at the Kappa Beta Nu sorority house with the intention of starting a new college with a clean slate, but unfortunately things don’t go as planned for her. She soon discovers that despite her desire to start again, her reputation has followed her to her new college. To say Summer received an unwelcome reception would be an understatement.
Having visited her brother on campus the previous year, Summer has become familiar with Briar campus and Dean’s former hockey team mates, especially Colin Fitzgerald (Fitzy). Fitzy has a preconceived idea on the kind of person Summer is based on their previous encounter, but things are about to get really interesting when Dean, knowing Summer is technically homeless, calls in a favor to his former team mates and asks that they rent their spare room to his sister.
Fitzy is not your typical jock. Yes he is a mean hockey player, tall, built, tatted and gorgeous, but he is also what some may consider a gaming nerd. Fitzy is studying both Fine Arts and Computer Gaming, so when he is not at practice or playing, this takes up most of his time.
“In college, I’ve made more of an effort to be social, but deep down I’m still the guy who wants to remain invisible. Summer is the most visible person I’ve ever met.”
While Summer is a force to be reckoned with, a blonde bombshell tornado making her presence known, Fitzy is an introvert who prefers to stay out of the limelight and keeping to himself.
Summer was such a fun character; she was feisty, extroverted and you could never be certain of what would come out of her mouth whenever she spoke. I found her absolutely hilarious and loved her gregarious nature. I loved Fitzy too for the sole reason that he was everything Summer was not. These two were perfect opposites, two wrongs making a delectable right.
When they get to really know each other they soon discover that things aren’t always as they seem. I loved discovering the depth of both characters and watching them grow, it made for more relatable characters and the development felt so much more real.
The Chase was written to be devoured and enjoyed and it would be a travesty to all romance literature to not pick this one up and read. If you are a fan of your NA sports/college romances, then there are no better stories of this genre than Elle Kennedy’s to get your fix. I wait with bated breath for book two in the Briar U series, The Risk, because I know it’s going to be everything and more.

If there was ever an anthology that I was desperate to get my grubby little hands on… it was Team Player. So many amazing authors I would have no issue naming as my favs of all time plus I am a huge fan of sports romances… So clearly I was going to love this very talented set of authors and the novellas they created for us to devour. My Christmas just got a whole lot better.
I will review each of the novella’s soon, but for now I am just going to review my favorite…
Back in the Game by Meghan Quinn.
I know I pretty much say it every time I have finished reading a story by Meghan Quinn, but I am a huge fan and love the way she writes; whether it be a full length novel or a hot and steamy novella included in an anthology, I just love her work. I just love her sense of humor and she always has the ability to make me LMAO.
Back in the Game included all the things I love to read: romance, a hot sports athlete, a single dad, humor and a kick ass heroine to boot. It didn’t even really feel like a novella because Meghan wrote with such depth, the plot seemed well thought out and the character development was flawless.
Calder is a single dad who also happens to be a professional hockey player, hence his schedule is hectic and therefore leaves him little time to spend with his daughter Shea. So whatever little Shea wants, Shea gets, even if it means dressing her daddy up in a fairy costume, wings and all, to take her out to eat. I mean it takes a really confident man to go out in public dressed as a fairy, with wings and a tiara, but anything to make his little girl smile.
When Calder accidentally slaps a woman while coming out of the men’s bathroom, instant sparks begin to fly. There is absolutely nothing not to love about this man, I mean if the costume wearing in public isn’t enough, he chooses to raise his daughter as a single dad after her mom took off and left her. Shea is the product of a one night stand and the greatest thing in Calder’s life.
I just fell in love with Rachel instantly; almost as quickly as Calder did, she is very quick witted, friendly, sweet and strong natured. I adored the fact that she had no idea Calder was a professional hockey player and fell in love with him and not who he is.
I loved Back in the Game and all the characters within, especially little Shea. Butter seriously wouldn’t melt in that girl’s mouth. I loved the chemistry and attraction between Calder and Rachel and how they just moulded together, like the missing piece to their jigsaw puzzle.
If you’re anything like me and love your sports romances, then I urge you to check out this anthology that includes so many amazing authors. So many!
