FlI love me some Sabrina Jeffries but this book hit different and not in a good way. It was flat. That is the word that comes to mind with this book. Flat. The Duke of Greycourt was flat one one-dimensional. Beatrice also flat. Their relationship super boring, at times cringy, and completely flat. I felt nothing between them. Some of the words used to detail sexy time was gross, and laughably bad. I did like Bea's brother and Grey's sister and I will read their book, but if it's like this one I will be stopping this series. Overall it wasn't a bad read but it wasn't a good one either. Hopefully Joshua and Gwyn will be better. ...more

I have seen book one's cover a lot lately, but didn't really know what it was about just a hockey romance. Going into this blind I didn't really care for the novella. It was all sex and no plot. I felt no connection because there was no connection. I love smut as much as the next dirty girl but damn a sprinkle of plot would be nice. On top of that the cringe was high in this book. Who TF meets someone and within a hour or so lets them fuck you in any hole with no protection. EWW.
I mean come on Girl you're a doctor what about stds? You don't even know the dude's name and your sharing body fluids without any thought of safety. Damn

Never...... I knew about 2 chapters in that this book wasn't going to work for me but stupid me I pushed through and damn I wish I could delete this book from my brain.
I didn't know going into this that it was a poly relationship or I would have never started it. I don't mind poly when I'm in the mood for it but for the most part it's not my cup as I never learned to share.
I really liked Jake and the way Rachel acted like he wasn't enough and she needed more than him made me hate her. I liked the other guys too which made me feel like they all deserved better.
The cringe in this book is off the charts. Rachel was the team Doctor that was fucking a number of patients. That is not cool on top of that the slut shaming of "Puck bunnies" is hypocrisy at it's finest. Hello the unprofessional doc fucked Jake within a few hours of meeting him in any hole with no protection not even knowing each other's name, but yea the puck bunnies are total sluts. I'm sure the men had no choice to fuck said puck bunnies. Men are never sluts. They're just taking what's thrown at them .
The descriptive words used in this book gave me second hand embarrassment. I don't shame kinks everyone can do their own thing but this was so over the top it was like watching a cheesy porn. I felt like Rachel pushed the men to do things they really didn't want to especially Mars. I can't believe I made it through this whole book without puking or stabbing my ears out. It's bad so bad.
Ok so let me start this review out by saying that I only read this book because of Tik Tok. I read ACOTAR a few months back and fell madly in love with that series. Everyone that read Fourth Wing told me it was just as good as ACOTAR if not better. Then after seeing everyone raving about it on Tik Tok and the high rating it has on goodreads, I thought I really need to read this book. Boy was I disappointed. Don't get me wrong it was ok, but nothing to write home about.
I liked the dragons and their sass. I liked the idea of them having close bonds to their riders. In the same breath I didn't understand how the author one minute said the dragon and their rider are so bonded if one dies the other does too. Although some dragons can still live but the rider dies period. Call me crazy but that seems like it would be a special close bond lives tied together and all. Then RY turned around and had dragons letting their riders fall to their deaths, or dragon-less rides kill another rider to get a chance at their dragon. Hello I thought the super smart powerful dragons knew who to choose as their riders and bonded to them to the death? It felt like forced drama and danger. The book also says how riders are fewer and fewer every year, and yet they are letting students kill each other for funsies.
I had mixed feelings on Violet. I liked her but at times I didn't. She was super smart but weak, and I don't mean how she was sickly. I mean she at times came off weak minded to me. Like just kill Jack already damn. I also thought her inner thoughts came off like a high school girl not a grown ass women. It felt like the world and plot were not fully hashed out. Readers are told Violet is weak and fragile every few pages yet we never find out what is wrong with her? What is her illness that made her so weak? There were tons of other plot holes like that all through the book.
I think what really kept me from loving this book is the copy cat vibes it gave off. The world set up is totally like Divergent. I mean come on Violet is totally suppose to be Tris. The fight matches divergent. The cadets completely over the top hunting and killings of each other was all hunger game-ish. Then there is Xaden aka Rhsysand from wish.com. Xaden was a sad imitation of Rhys never coming close to being as yummy, sexy or badass as Rhys. In keeping with the coping of ACOTAR we have the shadow powers and Xaden being the baddest of the land, and the knock off Tamlin aka Dain. I seen bits How to train your dragon sprinkled in there too.
It's really hard to get into a book that feels like a cheap knock off of some of your favorites, but not as good. So while this book was a ok way to kill some time I never felt any connection to it. It's like when you turn on the Hallmark channel and watch a Christmas romance. You know they are decent, but they all are pretty much the same generic story with different actors in it. So yeah I may pick up the second book but I'm not in a hurry.
Behind the Net was a pretty good/cute-ish read. It was on the cheesy side for sure. The nickname Jamie gave Pippa was super cringe. Every time he callBehind the Net was a pretty good/cute-ish read. I did really like the dog Daisy. I feel like this book had a lot of potential but it never really got there. It really needed more depth and character development. Overall not bad I may read the next one. ...more
I have only read one other Stephanie Laurens book before and though I found it ok I thought it too flowery and I didn't like the fact that one of her past couple, the hero cheated to have the bastard son(who was the hero) for the book I was reading. Still I seen this book on a audiobook sale for 1.99 and thought I would try it as a stand alone. I knew The Cynster series is a long one and I didn't want to read them all. I knew there would be ongoing story lines from past books. I figured I could still hang, but hand to GOD it was hard to finish this book. Not because I didn't understand or was lost, but because this was so over the top flowery and ridiculous that it annoyed me.
I know it's fiction, but come on...... I have read Blue alien smut that made more sense. I am suppose to believe that some dude's mom wants him to kidnap and ruin one of the Cynster sisters because her dead husband loved the Cynster mom and she was mad about it. Then I'm suppose to believe that she makes her son who is the Laird and Earl do this by stealing a treasured goblet that is owed to the banks of London there by ruining his clan if he doesn't. I am suppose to believe that Said Laird and Earl who has all the power back then because women were at men's mercy back in the day went along with this stupid STUPID plan because he had no choice? Really??????? I can name a ton of better choices like:
He could cut his mom off financially until she gives him back the goblet. He could have locked her in a dungeon until she told him where it was. He could have locked her in a room with no food until she told him where it was. He could have tortured her . He could have banished her til she told. He could have made her clean chamber pots til she caved. He could have had her whipped. He could have had her tied to a chair and had a priest read her sermons until she cracked. He could have shaved her head and make her do the walk of shame GOT style. He could have made her life a living hell, but I'm suppose to believe that his only choice was to kidnap and ruin a woman.
He does kidnap Angelica Cynster after he failed in his attempts to kidnap both her sisters. Angelica WHO'S not like all the other air head girls of the Ton(she's headstrong and outspoken) agrees to help the hero after he kidnaps her because she knew the moment she met him that he was her fated hero! When he offers her marriage for her help she tells him not yet. Then she insist instead that he ruin her by sleeping with her, because she knows the way to any cold closed off man's heart is by the magical pussy.
I am also suppose to believe that Angelica writes her family twice and tells them she's good just helping a friend and to chill and everyone is like "oh that's just like Angelica." Really? Then SL wants me to believe that Angelica and the Earl come up with a plan on the way to see his mom on how to trick her into believing he ruined Angelica. Who by the way was ruined. The whole time their at the castle with his stupid mom everyone knows that He and Angelica are together and the Earl is going to make her his wife. Just not his mom. She is the only one that doesn't know. She never finds out even thought Angelica and the Earl are sleeping in the same bed every night and sneaking around with each other all day in plain view , but his mom is so anti social she just doesn't figure it out. Then I am suppose to believe that Angelica in some masterful reverse psychology plan tricks said stupid mother into telling her son that he has to rape Angelica if he wants the goblet back and she has to see proof. Of course he is heart sick at the thought of having to fake rape his soon to be wife because HONOR, but he just can't think of any thing else to do.
That leads to some of the cringiest, ickiest shit I've read. For real it made my skin crawl. I have read rape in books, I've read dark romance, I've read dubious consent, but there was just something so nasty about having sex with your partner that you are pretending to rape for your mother who is
(A) following behind you as your carry your "victim" upstairs smiling and yelling things like
“Help me! You can’t let him do this.” Mirabelle smiled, and every ounce of her maliciousness, of her vindictive spite showed. “Oh, yes I can! He is doing this for me. He’s so big, too!!! I’m so looking forward to hearing you scream. My only regret is that your mother won’t hear it. Hear her darling being ripped apart, but I’m hoping that later you’ll describe the moment to her in all its horror.” Angelica and Mirabelle
(B) Said nasty mother is listening at the door while your have sex/pretend to rape your soon to be wife so you make sure she and you both scream and put on a show.
and then
(C) Cut your finger to smear blood on her thighs mixing it with your seed, having her legs spread open wide, and ripping her top so her breast are out you let your mom in to prove you did rape and ruin Angelica.
Other things I am suppose to believe in this book are:
The mom is killed by a bad guy that comes out of no where and then dies himself some few pages later. That Angelica's family shows up and she is tongue kissing the Earl in front of them after disappearing with said Earl for weeks. That Angelica's family would be okay with that because the Earl makes good Scottish whiskey. That when they get back to London where everyone can see Angelica stays with the Earl at his house in this bed were anyone can and will know but somehow she isn't ruined by this. And of course her family is cool with it because Angelica is headstrong. I mean things like that happen all the time in the Victorian era. On top of all the over the tops silly things that would have never happened and were too crazy to believe the books was longwinded and dragged on forever. There was so much over the top flowery speech that my eyes glazed over and I would forgot what they were even talking about.
It's safe to say I won't be picking up another book from this author her writing doesn't work for me and I don't enjoy her stories. Sorry to any fans!!!!
So going into this book I had no clue what a Eldritch is. I googled it and I'm still not quite sure, but in the book it sounds like a super hair wolf like creature/alien. Our heroine who's name I think was Jane is lost in the woods. She got lost after leaving the group of all male scientist she is working with including her father. They are all looking for Alien life that was reported in the area. So silly Jane decides it's a good idea to wonder the woods. Now that she is lost she shows a bit more sense and she should make camp, starts a fire. Then she hears a noise. Of course it's our Eldritch Alien dude. Jane is freaking out at the scary, huge, fur covered Alien thinking she is going to be killed and eaten until........ she sees his tool.
after that she was no longer scared of being eating alive. She was eatin, but she enjoyed it. She of course returned the favorite which was gross since she says how it's covered in fur.
After they get it on she super happy with her furry lover whispers mate back at him and that is the end of the story. I know that it's silly monster erotica but it could have wrapped up the ending a bit better. Overall not the worst I've read! ...more

At times it could be a tad cheesy, but for the most part I really liked it. I think I loved Rev a bit more than Deacon and will for sure be reading Rev's book. I was really sad about Case and Kim. Willow was adorable. There are some darkish parts to this book but I wouldn't label it a dark read. Deacon and Alex were good together and I liked that Alex wasn't scared to tell Deacon what she needed from him. decent world building and the bad guys were disgusting. Like make your skin crawl evil. Until November is my first book by Aurora Rose Reynolds and I enjoyed it. It wasn't perfect but it was a good read. I liked November, I liked Asher, I liked November's dad and Asher's whole family. I did feel like this book was a bit cheesy at times. Asher was a bit much at times. His caveman act was a little too forced and ott. Still Asher had his moments that made me not only like him but overlook most of his behaviors.
November was sweet, and I felt bad for her past. I hated her mom! I would have liked to know what happened to that bitch in the end. Did she rot in prison? Anyways I liked the plot and I think the insta-love worked well in this book. I would have liked more details in the story. It would jump a month here and a month there. I needed that time to see Asher and November's connection grow. Overall not a bad read and I will read the next one and see if I like it enough to continue with this series! ...more

I'm so disappointed that I didn't enjoy this book more. I love Shelly Laurenston. She can make me laugh and smile like no other, but this book just didn't have the romance I come to love from her funny shifter books. I loved Charlie and Stevie's books, and I loved Max in those books, but this one was a bit of a mess. First off it jumped around so much. One minute we are reading from Max's pov then the next some random character from one of her many other series/books. The cameos of past characters was out of control. Truly I think I was visited by the ghost of every character of past. Some from books I read years ago and it would take me a bit to even remember who the heck they were. Which just took me out of the story and confused me. Add to that almost zero romance besides the rushed bit at the like 85% and it really didn't work for me. This book wasn't all bad though and it did make me laugh, but it's not want I wanted or expected.
It's no secret that I love Suzanne Wright. She is one of my favorite authors. The Phoenix Pack was my favorite of all her series. Dominic stole my heart from book one with his corny pick up lines and playful charm. I was both excited and sad when I got Untamed Delights. Excited that I was finally getting Dom's HEA. Sad that it is the last book in the Phoenix Pack series. I don't want my favorite set of sexy badass shifters stories to stop. So I felt a little better at the end of the book when the author notes said we will still see our beloved favorites again in the new spin off series Olympus Pride. Though not my favorite in the series, I still really loved Untamed Delights. Dom was yummy and funny as always. I liked Mila a lot. They had off the wall sexual tension. I loved getting deeper with Dom and seeing new sides to him. I love the pallas cat shifters they are so crazy funny. Mila and Dom made a really cute couple. Seeing all the pack mates again and the kids melted my heart. It sometimes amazes me how attached I can become to a series. Reading this book made me want to go back and reread the whole series. I really loved Mila's family. Both sides were funny as hell. and I hope her brother Alex gets a book in the new spin off. I think one of my favorite parts in the whole book was the other males giving Dom a little pay back for all the flirting he did with their mates over the years. Overall a really good ending to a much loved series.
This was my first book by Helena Hunting and I wasn't really impressed. I could tell that Helena Hunting was tryin to make the book funny. It came off forced and not funny at all. I think she wanted Violet to come off quirky-cute, funny, and a bit awkward, but instead she came off really immature and obnoxious. Violet came off fake, like that kid in high school that tried really hard to be popular, but never made it. I didn't like that she was lying to her step brother, and using it as blackmail material. He was drunk so she told him he tried to sleep with her/ or feel her up when he didn't. Also she "fake smokes" what is she 13? I didn't care for Alex either. Although I'm having a harder time pinpointing what rubbed me the wrong way with him. I know that I didn't find his anger sexy and I didn't find him alpha at all. I also thought he sounded like the 6th graders from south park every time he said boobs. What grown ass man says boobs? Alex said it a lot.
Speaking of annoying immature words like boobs, this book was overflowing with irritating repetitive words that drove me up the wall. Jilling, Monster Cock, super MC(for monster cock), Beaver, Beave, snuffie, yeti, punk bunnies, Hockey hookers and all the other forms of slut shaming words used in this book. Top that shit off with a superficial plot, very little character development, no attachment to the main couple, and a ton of boob nuzzling and this book was a total miss for me. I may try another one of Helena Hunting books down the line since this was the first and only book of hers I've read just to give her a second chance but it will have to be down the road when I don't remember how annoying this book was. ...more
Sorry but I'm tappin' out at 20%. I don't think I have ever DNFed a Netgalley book, but I honestly can't take anymore of this. I wanted to quit as soon as I got 3 pages into the prologue because I had no clue what was going on. I held out and read 3 more chapters. When I got to chapter 4 and I was still bored, and uninterested I knew it was time to give it up.
The fact of the matter is this book confused and bored me to death. The whole prologue I was thinking what the hell is going on. Who are these people, and why should I care? The start was like being thrown into a wreck. Chaos everywhere. Then chapter one started and I was still trying to figure out what was going on. It was so frustrating. I had no back story for the main characters. No connection to them. It was a hot mess.
Then when I finally did get my bearings of who these people were, I didn't care because there was no depth to them. No back story, nothing to connect me to them. I seen some names from another series by Lora Leigh that I read a few years back. The Elite ops series, but that just confused me again. How the hell do they tie into this series. The plot had no depth either. Ivan and Syn jump into bed in chapter 1. I felt no chemistry between them at all. Therefore the sex felt like flat words. Still I forced myself to keep going. I never got into it. I was bored and didn't care what happened to the main couple. On top of that I don't feel this book can be a stand alone read. It was evident that I was missing things that were either touched on in book one or maybe even The Elite Ops series. Either way it felt like I was punishing myself by reading this book. So I quit. Sorry there are Lora Leigh books that I own and love but this one isn't gonna work for me. Maybe if I didn't spend so much time confused, I would have connected but either way I'm out. DNF @20% chapter 4!
Because this book is 3 stories in 1 I will rate and do a mini review for each story. First up is
Bearing His Name by Eve Langlais
2 Star
Bearing His Name was just blah for me. I had a hard time connecting to the couple. I didn't like the plot of the book were Ark might have impregnated his Mate's sister. I get that it was before he met his mate, and of course he wasn't the father of the baby, had never slept with the sister. Still it was just a gross start to the story. Ark came off very stalkerish. She would say no 100s of times and he would just act like she never said anything.
On top of that Jade came off bitchy. She would be mean to Ark and push him away, no matter how hard he tried. Then there was that fact that at times this book got confusing. There was some funny parts but for the most part I didn't care for this story.
Owned by the Lion by Milly Taiden
3.5 Stars
I enjoyed Owned by the Lion much more than I did Bearing his name. I liked the plot a lot more. Keir and Ally had good chemistry. Still there were parts that got a little confusing. On top of that the hero was a reformed man-whore. Which I have no problem with. My problem was the fact that everywhere the couple went exes would confront Ally and it was really annoying. Overall I enjoyed this read.
I didn't care for this story at all. Owen was very underdeveloped and one dimensional. Mia I couldn't stand at all. She was selfish and didn't care how her choices would hurt anyone. The only thing that mattered was what she wanted. More than my dislike for the heroine, is the fact that the book was so short and felt super rushed. I felt no connection at all between the h&h. I just wasn't feeling this one.
So over all this whole book was about a 3 star for me. The running theme of all the stories in this book is promiscuity.
The first two stories the heroes were sleeping with everyone and in the last one the heroine was a wood nymph. Now I don't have a problem with stories where the h or h sleep with others in the past but it was ott in this book. They slept around like they changed their underwear. It kinda took away something special about the couples. That of course is just my humble opinion. My favorite read of the three was Owned by the lion.
Okay so I have read 7 books by Bella Jewel now and I loved them all. Loved her writing style loved her broody bad-ass heroes, loved her sassy heroines, and loved all the angsty drama of her plots. Then I read this hot mess. God I don't even know where to begin on all that is wrong with this book. See I read The MC Sinners series first. I loved them so much that I then read MC Sinners Next Generation series to see how their children turned out. In the Next Generation book 2 the hero is Diesel the son of Jokers Wrath MC member, Mack and Jaylah. In that book I got curious about the Jokers couples so I wandered over to Amazon to get this series. After reading this book I am wondering if I made a huge mistake.
Lets just start with the unrealistic, all over the place, outlandish plot. This plot had more holes than Swiss cheese. When EVER does a person believed to be guilty of a crime get sent straight to prison. Last time I check we had a thing called a justice system and there are rules and laws that have to be followed. I'm pretty sure there is this thing called investigations and a trial, that the person would have to have. Then if found guilty and sentenced they go to prison. And not in less than a week. This isn't monopoly. You don't go straight to jail no passing go no collecting 200 dollars. Then you got dirty prison guards, and cops working with another MC to set up the Jokers. But that plot was thin with not a lot of details or reasons. All the surveillance videos go down like every five minutes magically so no one can see these crimes happening, and no one finds this weird?
I tried to overlook all that bullshit and just enjoy the romance. Problem with that was I didn't feel any romance and I disliked both Ash and Krypt. Let me just say that when I read Biker books I give a lot of leeway in the way the bikers act. Because the fact of the matter is Bikers are suppose to be rough, edgy, raw and bad-ass. So as I have said many time before there is a fine line authors that write MC romances have to walk to pull off a hard, sexy bad-ass biker without making him an unredeemable cockface. I can appreciate the struggle author must feel making sure their bikers don't come out like pussies or bastards. But this book didn't pull off that fine line. I didn't like Krypt at all. He fucked Ash once and instantly wanted to make her his old lady. When she says she doesn't even know him or him, her, he has a whore in his room a few hours later stripping for him getting ready to do other things. Yea well fuck you Krypt. It wasn't like he couldn't wait a few fucking minutes to let her fall in love with him or anything. Then Later his ex girlfriend Penny shows up and he kept telling Ash that Penny means something to him and that he didn't want her to see him with Ash. He pushed Ash away for Penny. And then he disrespected Ash who he is suppose to want as an old lady by telling her that Penny matters to him and that Ash doesn't. When Penny first shows up, he lets her kiss his lips, jump into his arms and wrap her legs around him and he is always touching on Penny. It just fucking pissed me off. I didn't feel like Krypt cared for Ash at all and I didn't buy that he wanted her for his old lady.
And Ash God give me strength not to reach into my kindle and choke a bitch. Ash was suppose to be this kick ass female prison guard that can kick men's asses and doesn't take shit from no one, but she was wishy washy and annoying as shit. She came off fake and like she was trying too hard to be a bad-ass. She let Krypt disrespect her with Penny and a club whore. And what the fuck was up with the threesome with Maddox's at the end. It made no sense. None. I am totally okay with ménage in books but this one just didn't fit. It was like the author was just throwing random things into the plot and it didn't work. Not to mention what a stab in the back it was to Santana. Santana who was suppose to be a close friend of Ash. How could Ash give Maddox a bj knowing Santana had something for Maddox. And I didn't buy that bullshit that she didn't know how Santana felt.
I didn't even enjoy the sex in this book. It was awkward and violent. I mean I am all for kinky rough sex, but who the fuck headbutts a man they are fucking??? For most of this book I was bored. For how all over the place this plot was there really wasn't much happening in this book besides being in a cabin in the woods and having violent sex. It kinda dragged for me but maybe that was because I wasn't feeling this book at all. I didn't feel a connection to the couple, didn't feel any chemistry between them, and just all around didn't care. I didn't like Maddox either. He is suppose to have feelings for Santana but he is fucking everything he can right in front of her. I get that they are not together and I'm going to try and have a open mind in their book but unnecessary bullshit drives me nuts. I understand that even when you love an author you don't always love everything they write and that is the case with this book. I really love Bella Jewel and I have loved every book of her but this one so I hope the next one is better because I already paid 3.99 a book for this series....more
I am sorry but this book had me rolling my eyes so much I'm surprised they didn't roll right outta my head. I'm going to try to keep this rant mini while still getting out everything that didn't work for me. Let me start with Sally Mae the Quaker. She drove me bat shit crazy with all the old English Thy, thou, and thee crap. Sally was a religious Quaker woman, who had only been with her husband in very vanilla ways, it was hard to believe that a couple pages into the book she was A) ready to have an affair instead of saving sex for marriage as religious people back in the 1800s tended to do and B) not only had sex right away but gave blow jobs like a lady of the night and had butt sex her first time with Tucker. Just sayin'!
Now at this point in the book which was like only the 25% mark I am thinking I should just DNF this read because I am not feeling a connection with the couple and felt that Sally's character was unbelievable. I pushed on because I wanted to get to Ari's book and I didn't want to miss anything that might add to the ongoing plot of the series. But the book just got more absurd as the pages turned.
Tucker pulls out an 18th century dildo and jeweled vag clamp. He sticks the dildo up Sally's ass and makes her keep it up there and wear the vag clamp on her clit for 3 hours. Now call me crazy but I didn't know that dildos and jeweled vag clamps were so accessible in the wild west but hey I didn't live back then. Also I'm suppose to believe that Sally Mae the religious Quaker woman took a dildo in the ass and kept it there and wore a vag clamp for hours while singing a church hymn.
It was just so ridiculous I couldn't take any of it serious. Which means I didn't get into this book. My brain just shut off after reading about dildos and church hymns. Sorry but I just couldn't! Nope! Now I don't even want to read Ari's book. I think I will take a break from this series and come back....more
