Max is This book started off so promising, I LOVE the whole hate at first sight theme. The sexual tension is great, and they grow to love each other. Max is an amazing Alpha Hottie, but he (and everyone else in Colorado for that matter) had the most annoying accent, they all spoke in fragments and left out important words, and said "Yeah?" at the end of every damn sentence..That made no sense. It was like the author was trying to dumb down her writing and had never been around anyone like that so she said fu*k it here goes nothing. Nina conversed two ways, either "Um.." or repeated everyone's first name instead of actually forming a sentence.."MAX.. MAX MAX.., MOM MOM MOM.." Jesus H Christ woman what the f*c*?! About halfway through I felt like Id been reading this book for a year, everything was described in such detail it took two pages for Nina to say what she was wearing. Overkill, the rest of the book barely held my interest, I just checked out mentally. ...more

Posey [image] “I'd wait as long as you needed, as long as Nicole needed. But I know you feel something for me, and I love you, and I've never felt this way about anyone, ever. I want to be with you. I want you to pick me. I know Emma will always be your first love, and that's fine. But don't just...don't just let me go.”
Liam aka God's Gift [image] “Cordelia, " he said quietly, his smile fading. "I seem to be in love with you.”

Guilty as charged!
I really love how Kristan Higgins writes about less than perfect women, like how it is in REAL LIFE, I'm so sick of the perfect size 2 blondes with racks comparable to watermelons. It's so refreshing to have a quirky, petite pixie, with unmanageable hair as the main character who happens to rock a lot of Carhartt and steel toed boots. Posey's been in love with bad boy (SUPER HOT- SEXY- DO ME NOW) Liam Murphy since freshman year of Bellsford high school. However he'd fallen in love with a squeaky clean popular girl named Emma, who dies from Lukemia and leaves him a widower along with their only child Nichole. Liam ends up moving back to Bellsford, NH from Cali, to be closer to his in-laws for Nichole's sake, and escape the tragic memories of Emma's death. Posey and Liam end up running into each other a few times and her high school crush comes back with a vengeance, even though he broke her heart, inadvertently back then, she can't seem to help herself. The story is pretty hilarious, I love the quirky family, the adorable pets, the classic Kristan Higgans' gay best friend, omg Jon is amazing wish I had a bf like him, about halfway through it becomes pretty sad, I think I cried from 60% on.. but it's soooo worth every tear, this was so heartwarming, and has such an awesome HEA that all the devastation is worth it.
What a great story! I really enjoyed it, and the ending left me in such suspense! Can't wait to start the next one. What a great story! I really enjoyed it, and the ending left me in such suspense! Can't wait to start the next one....more
