The manuscript was raw back then, a lot of unfocused thoughts and unpolished plot directions. I finished it when I only had a couple of friends on Goodreads and publication was completely out of my mind.
The original manuscript lacked the whole beginning it has now (courtesy of MsMiz(Tina)), some of the names were different and it wasn't set in Croatia (hence the warning in the first pages - some things were too much a part of the story to be changed and fit the setting better). So my lovely ladies (mentioned in the dedication) worked with me to make this book as good as they thought it could be. I couldn't be more grateful for their help as well as encouragement, I can always use a few nice words - imagine it as a kick in my behind when I most need it *grins*
The guys might not be the favorites to anyone, but I don't think I liked any of my characters as much as I love Danny. He was the first and the most vulnerable. He went through things I will probably never again write so explicitly and he endured everything I put him through. Danny is a fighter and I always saw this book is his battlefield.

I would also dare to say it is the best so far. The idea didn't come from a movie or a book this time, it was a collection of experiences which I wanted to share with people who have never visited my country. I focused on the beauty of one of the islands here and modified my own memories to better fit the story. But the feeling I had when I spent my summer there was very real and I think I managed to give the characters as good of a time as I'd had it. Imagine what it would be like to let go for one summer, forget about work, your problems and all other baggage we carry daily. And instead experience all those things you never even hoped you would. You have the sun, the sea and a gorgeous man by your side to stir your imagination to the heights you never even knew it could go. That is what this book is about; finding yourself even when you didn't know you were lost and falling in love next to the whisper of the waves in the heat of summer.
Side note; You have to believe in miracles;)...more
**spoiler alert** I'd been watching a lot of anime when the idea for this one came. But it was Loveless that pushed me into writing it. In this one ep**spoiler alert** I'd been watching a lot of anime when the idea for this one came. But it was Loveless that pushed me into writing it. In this one episode Ritsuka was holding his cell phone in bed, waiting for a message and the feeling I had then stayed with me until I wrote it all down.
The first version was considerably shorter, with Cherry being just a character from the past and London completely nonexistent. So it took a bit more writing and adding details about the world to create a society where some things are the same and others quite different.
I read it again; after all the edits were done and it had this nice cover( the first day I got it I kept glancing at it every few minutes;)), and it still put a smile on my face. I couldn't help it but think it was sweet.
My rating probably isn't objective, as I wrote the book after all, but there are plenty of others here with high and low ratings to give you a better idea of what to expect.
