I absolutely love CE Ricci and her books, a lot. But she’s so amazing at angst and feels and I felt like this one just didn’t hit the mark. Regardless, her writing is great and I can’t wait for whatever comes next from her. And hopefully that’s a super angsty, forbidden romance! ...more

Well, she's back and better than ever!!! I'm so happy Aly released a new book. She's hands down one of my all time favorite authors and her stories are always so original, refreshing and full of angst and love. I loved this book. I spent half the book trying to figure out what was going on. It was definitely fantastic. This is a second chance love story full of grief and heart. ...more

That was the second this version of me was born. The one that exists because Romeo exists. The one that breathes because he does. The one who knows nothing but longing and pain. The one that can’t stop loving him no matter how much I try to hate him. The sound he made was unlike anything I’d ever heard, but it was a sound I knew. My soul knew it. I swear it did. I recognized it and replied with a low answer I made just for him. Things changed then. Time faltered again, but this time, it didn’t recover.
This book to me was absolute perfection! The angst, the feels, the incredible writing, Jesse H Reign did it again. This book gripped me from start to finish and just didn’t let me go. I read this one in one sitting. This friends to lovers to enemies to lovers story spans many years and it’s just absolutely beautiful! ...more

He writes poetry and the most engaging stories, and they just keep you glued the entire time. Shane and Dakota are wonderful characters. This is a childhood friends to lovers story, with a separation of 13 years, and thus it’s eventually a second chance romance as they reconnect as adults. Combined with some suspense, and some crime and mystery, and it’s just such a fantastic read. I definitely devoured this one. The audiobook is narrated by Jon Solo and I’m just not a fan of his narrations. Anyway, definitely recommend. ...more

I find myself enjoying Micah and Bastian’s friend to lovers story full of drama and heartache. As most debut novels go, there’s a lot of telling and not showing, but overall, it’s a beautiful, enjoyable story with a super sweet happy ending. I’m definitely invested on some of the side characters and I’m looking forward to the next books. ...more

In thThis is another one of those books where I’m totally on the fence as to how to rate it. It has my least favorite trope, the “dead spouse” trope. In this one the widower was extremely sympathetic and while the dead spouse is ever present, I didn’t hate that part as much as I thought. I did think that both main characters have little to zero chemistry through the book, it was very tell not show, so it was hard to understand how they went from strangers to “loving” each other. There wasn’t much development. However, the setting was great, I did love the fashion world stuff and some of the twists and turns the story took. The audiobook is narrated by Greg Boudreaux, and while I really like him, I prefer two narrators. Anyway, overall I really enjoyed the story. ...more
The best way I can describe this book is beautiful! Simply beautiful. Beautiful story, beautiful characters, beautiful writing. I just loved this bookThe best way I can describe this book is beautiful! Simply beautiful. Beautiful story, beautiful characters, beautiful writing. I just loved this book so much. Nordika is such an amazing writer, she not only has the ability to keep you completely hooked on a story, but she can do the heaviest of subjects with the most lighthearted humor. It’s simply amazing. This story was about love and hope. The heavy subjects are not taken lightly, but these characters navigate this like champs, and it’s just beautiful. Gage and Alexei were simply precious, I absolutely loved them. And Nate, and Gage’s mom, and all of these amazing characters Nordika has created. Without a doubt, one of my favorite reads of the year!!!
“My point is, as much as it elates me that you’re my sober dope, you’re so much more than that. You're complicated and intriguing. You’re hypocritical and snarky. You’re a judgemental dick with the biggest heart and the most intense eye contact. You’re weird, I’m weird, and we’re weirder together. You’re my soulmate, and saying I love you doesn’t feel like enough. But I do, Alexei. I just really love ya. I love you.” ...more

I do feel like there were gaps in the story since I just couldn’t understand the sudden attraction to the brother in law. So I feel like the back story was a bit underdeveloped. Either way, it was a fast, entertaining read. The audiobook is fantastic though. ...more

While the book was so frustrating at times, the book definitely made me feel all sorts of emotions and the angst was definitely on point with the kind of books I love. This is Kussy Gonzalez’ debut book and I was thoroughly impressed. Not going to lie, the book started slow for me, I had a hard time following at times because of the multiple switches in PoVs, especially since the audiobook has just one narrator. It’s also written in 3rd person. Regardless, once the book got super angsty, I was totally immersed in it and I devoured it. Both Logan and Hunter have pretty interesting dynamics with themselves and with the other secondary characters. I found it engaging and endearing, the book definitely had heart. It also made me mad at some points and enraged, lol. I wanted to smack these two and make them see what was in front of them. I definitely would’ve liked more of them as a couple and more of the HEA. Sadly, I feel like the book spent a lot of time in the front part, and was rushed at the end. Regardless, even though I struggled with the first part of the book, the second part kept me hooked and the rollercoaster of emotions and twists and turns were many. The last chapters I absolutely loved. this book is definitely a journey through these two character’s lives and has a very very hard earned HEA. Overall, fantastic debut by Kussy Gonzalez!...more
