She's not going to take it anymore and goes to Scotland to confront him at his restaurant. The setting was incredible, lots of snow making for a breathtaking scenery, an undeniably handsome guy and the witty banner between Liv and Fraser had me chucking out loud. This author is one I always go to for a feel good, laugh out loud read. I think with the popularity of online dating a lot of people will connect with this story. Cute, festively fun story with some quirky moments make for a story you'll want to read more than once. The story brought a smile to my face, and I know it will with you also.

She's quite surprised one day when she receives a call from the publishing house saying they want a Christmas romance book from her. Ms Wright doesn't do Christmas books, but her sales have taken a slump just like her love life. She has a choice, write that best-selling Christmas romance or her contract is gonzo. Needing a little inspiration, she goes to the best Christmassy town she can think of. Renting a half of a duplex with the owner on the other side is no problem, that is until she sees who it is. Mr. December on the firehouse calendar, Dorian Black. Firefighter, football coach and widow. He's not looking for a relationship, he's had plenty of people try to matchmake for him, but his late wife's memory is still too strong. When Saira and Dorian meet though it's as though they were made for each other in this spicy winter romance. Saira seems to fit right in with the folks in town and all his friends as if she'd been there for a lifetime and he feels the same way. I enjoyed seeing the interaction between the two as the sparks ignite bright. I think she has all the inspiration she needs for this upcoming romance book. Loved this uplifting full of great humor book. Filled with the holiday season you'll want to read this more than once.

Having read all the books in the series this is what I love about the book, not only it's originality with it's mainly hospital setting but I love seeing the helping and hopeful spirit the carers give others in and out of the hospital. This series provides a warm, fuzzy feeling of goodness and a coming together of characters that are there for each other. So many of the characters in this book have been in all of the books and it's great to see an update of their lives in each book. As in each book there is some drama, but you can't have real life without some glitches and things going on. The book deals with love and loss, heartache and happiness, sisterhood and strong family ties and knowing you don't have to be born into a family to have that strong family bond. Recommended and looking forward to the next installment in the series.

As this is the first book we are introduced to a lot of characters and the situations are set up for us. Many of these characters have secrets and back stories, some of which are told and we are introduced to. Millie Westlake is a divorced woman after it was discovered she was having an affair with a man of importance. Unfortunately, she has also lost custody of her son but will not fight it until she feels she is in a better position to do so. Making ends meet she works at an elder care home. Nice friendly older folks you would think, especially an elderly woman with dementia who says she saw a woman being pushed from the roof of a house next door last evening. Can she even be trusted to remember what she saw or is she remembering a television show she saw years ago replaying in her mind? Millie isn't sure but she knows she needs to investigate. Millie's life is covered in scandal, will anyone want to help her? The town is small, everyone knows everyone's business and secrets. Millie has gone through a public marriage breakup, lost custody of her son and experienced the death of both parents which many are blaming her for. A very interesting story opener that had me glued to the pages. I will need to read more of this continuing mystery with its many twists and turns to learn all the reveals. Recommended!

The book goes back and forth between time periods explaining things happening now were caused by things happening in the past. The characters, you could really feel their emotions coming through strongly. The book is mesmerizing, emotional and uplifting as well. This Book! This is my first read by this author and I now automatically need the whole stack of the rest of her books to read right NOW! This book is so amazing that I sped read it, losing sleep over it and it was so great I didn't even mind the lack of sleep . With a dual time line I didn't quite make the connection at first between the two time periods but it did eventually become cohesive. This book will really WOW you historical fiction fans with it's fabulous plot. My favorite time period was the earlier time period with those characters . The author makes the character's step out of the pages and come to life. You can feel their emotions as they become your emotions. The book is absolutely heartbreaking and it makes you want to step back in history with them and chance the outcome. Despite the heartbreak there is a light at the end of the tunnel with blue skies ahead. There is healing for these characters you can not hold these characters back. They will persevere and make things right. This book and the emotions I felt with it will stay with me for a long time. Highly recommended as the best historical I've read this year!

The Girl With The Yellow Star grabThe Girl With the Yellow Star by Natalie Meg Evans is one of the most enthralling books I have read in a long time. The Girl With The Yellow Star grabs your attention and doesn't let go all the way through the book and you are still thinking about it when you're done. I would have to say Lotti is my favorite character. I fell for this young Jewish girl and her gentle vulnerability. She gets thrust into a whole new environment with people she doesn't even know after a terrible tragedy. Luckily, she has her beloved teddy bear, Rumtopf which I looked up to see is a German word for preserved fruit in rum. Well, Rumtopf is a very useful bear and saves a life. I could go on about this little girl saying after the tragedy she doesn't speak for quite some time despite being taken in and having excellent care. She goes to school and excels at all of her subjects. Gwenna, who takes her in has her own sadness and problems to deal with but gives of herself by taking care of this sweet child. When she hears Lotti chatting with German captain Max Reiner, showing him her teddy bear she is so surprised to hear her speaking but scared for the little girl. Will they take her away? As she gets to know Max more, she finds herself starting to trust him. I enjoyed seeing the trust develop between Gwenna and Max and also a relationship. While Lotti heals a bit more each day Gwenna hears a terrible rumor in the village, that Max actually fired the torpedo that killed her husband. Max is desperate to have Gwenna trust him and prove his innocence, will he be able to? "An absolutely heartbreaking, gripping and beautiful story about how love shines brightly even in the darkest times, and the incredible sacrifices people make in wartime." One of the best books I've read this year. I need to see what other books the author has out right now!

Many thoughts and conversations involving lust and more. I have read plenty of books by the author and the books didn't contain this kind of material. I am disappointed. The book was written as if it were a regular contemporary novel but with Amish characters. The writing was disjointed. Bring back the Amish books from when they were first being written, the characters had respect for themselves and their community. I cannot recommend this book.

Being from the Pittsburgh, PA area I am familiar with Carnegie libraries and museum and the many other things that he had a hand in developing. Our main female character had an unusual interest for the time period, as a paleontologist in 1916, she is used to being discriminated against. With what many think of as an unusual interest for women. This way of thinking only makes her work harder to prove herself. As with today, people also are under the mistaken assumption if you're a woman of science you cannot have a faith belief. When she is sent on a dig at the Dinosaur National Monument in Jensen, Uta she is thrilled to have a chance to work with a paleontologist she admires and hopes to learn even more. As dark secrets come to light at the very ranch where the dig is taking place will all her hard work crumble to dust and blow away in the wind? Feeling lonely she is thrilled to see her childhood best friend, Devin Schmitt has listened to her pleas and come for a visit. Together they are thrown into a dangerous living and working environment, someone doesn't want them there or things to change. Is this the time or place for Devin to act upon his feelings for Eliza Mills, though he wants to spend a lifetime of happiness with her. I enjoyed seeing the character development and learning of women of science and paleontology through this series.

I've visited Connecticut in the Autum several years ago and it is Starr's Fall in Connecticut sounds like a charming small town especially in Autumn. I've visited Connecticut in the Autum several years ago and it is very beautiful that time of year with the crisp air and lovely scenic trees. There is so many threads going on in the story and I enjoyed it very much. This is the start of a new series, and I greatly look forward to the next in the series as well. Laurie Ellis and her little dog, Max are off to Starr's Fall to open a pet shop/bakery for dogs amongst the dusty shuttered store fronts on the main street. Hoping to breathe some life into this small town with her new shop and have it as a cozy and comfortable meeting place for the town's folks as well. Laurie has a motive for coming to town as well, she is looking to find answers to a few things. An unexpected romance may be in the cards as well. I enjoyed meeting the matriarch of Starr's Falls and though we didn't spend much time with her I hold her amongst one of my favorite characters in this book. Time seems to have forgotten about her, which is a feeling Laurie is all too familiar with. A grumpy- sunshine romance that I enjoyed seeing the character development of. I would have enjoyed seeing more of a development of the doggie bakery though. A warm and emotional read that I'm looking forward to reading more of.

I went through so many emotions while reading this book by a new to me author. Fashion designer, Marianne from New York arrives in Balgaddy, Dublin Ireland after being summoned there for the reading of her grandmother Collie's will. She feels so guilty as work had kept her busy the past several years while her grandmother's health deteriorated, and she was unable to travel to Ireland while her grandmother was still alive. She inherits Kilteelagh House, her grandmother's pride and joy, her house which means everything to her. The conditions are she must be the guardian to her two young nieces, one 6 the other 15 and she is to live at Kilteelagh House for a year while doing so. Unsure of herself and her parenting skills at first she gains confidence the longer she is there. As she falls in love with the house as much as her grandmother has she also falls in love with a local man. Discovering all the house has to offer, like sitting and enjoying all the flowers as the seasons pass. The descriptions are so beautiful I can vividly imagine the house as the author paints such a vivid picture of it, breathtaking. The letters are what got to me. Each month Marianne is given a letter her grandmother has written to her before her death. These letters boost her confidence 10-fold and give her practical advice and also talk about her grandmother's life all the while offering up secrets, she has never shared with anyone else. She is now the keeper of secrets and it's a huge responsibility to hold all the while it explains the current family dynamics. The book is heartbreaking but warm and relatable. I completely loved it and must read more by this author.

Historical fiction is my favorite genre to read. There is so much to learn from it, even the fictional stories contain some true facts and happenings. The Last Letter from Paris by Kate Eastham is a wonderful book that I read in several hours. A young American woman is in France, June 1940 living with her mother's best friend for the sole purpose of finding out information about her birth. All she knows is she was found with a locket. It is her only clue. A capture turns the plot of the story into one filled with danger and intrigue. It is hard to put this one down. The story is filled with strong women who must persevere, but my favorite is Cora who was found by and was raised by Eva. As Cora is searching for her beginnings, she is befriended by German soldier Max but with a war going on can she trust him and can she trust herself with her growing feelings for him. The Germans have invaded, and she helps with the resistance which throws her right into danger. Full of power, courage, bravery, worry, strength and romance. I enjoyed the author's writing style and well-developed characters. I will be looking for more by this author.

I enjoyed reading about the antics the animals got up to and the variety of animals rescued from domesticated animals to birds and farm animals. I connected with one of the main characters running the rescue center because we had a lot of similarities in caring for animals and she's a vegetarian like I am. Rescuer Jade has two men falling for her and they have such different personalities. She's plenty busy though with her rescue center and not looking for love. But will this jealous rivalry end up on the right side of a romance? The beautiful Wiltshire countryside setting has me dreaming of a visit. A romantic and uplifting page turner for animal lovers and romantics alike.
