B.E.Roasted is a story about secrets, success, caring, and kink. It’s dark and intense, full of emotion, and sometimes unsettling in a very good way. B.E. Wolf has a style that fans will recognize, favorite themes and tropes that they expect, but this book is a bit more forward about its traumas, and that is something that I think makes it more immediately accessible.
Joseph (never just Joe) is a melancholy man who wanders into the start of the book like a silent shadow on a cold autumn morning. We don’t know much about him to start, but there’s a heaviness to him that tugs at you. Holly is a fierce goth barista (and business owner) who doesn’t so much clash with Joseph as crashes through his reserve. Their first meeting is one of emotional, physical, and sexual tension, but it’s clear that this is not going to be an easy sort of courtship.
I loved the way Benson intertwined the past and present of two storylines, the very different journeys of two people who never crossed paths, but whom we learn have a common connection. It’s a history that takes time to be revealed, and for every secret that is exposed, another is teased. By the time we understand that connection and all of its consequences, we’re fully invested in claiming that well-deserved happily-ever-after.
Part of what makes this such a fun departure from the usual tropes is the fact that the relationship is deliberately set to simmer until after the holidays, pushing the romantic and sexual aspects deeper into the book. That makes the BDSM-themed explorations a bit sharper, a bit more dubcon and dangerous, because there’s so much simmering tension beneath them.
I hesitate to call either Joseph or Holly damaged, but those traumas I mentioned are important to the story-they don’t define the characters, but rather refine them. Holly especially has a darkness to her past, one that still looms over her in many ways, and it’s powerful to see how violence can be so cathartic. Roasted is like the drink Holly makes for this tall, dark stranger, sweet and bold, with a hint of bitterness, but sprinkled with spice.

So hot, but so emotional as well. I loved the erotic exploration of latent homosexuality through friendship and BDSM, which was very well done. It's not the magical sexuality switch you see flipped in so much erotica, but a genuine exploration of thoughts and desires as they're tied up in a rekindled friendship. Nothing (especially trust) comes easy here, and there's baggage hanging over both their heads, but how they work through it feels genuine - even within what may be, for many of us, a fantasy scenario. ...more

This is a dark story of revenge, abduction, and transformation that may be a bit extreme for some readers – even I was shocked at one particular aspect – but it’s brilliantly done. Miss Irene has such a grasp of the mental and emotional aspects of the power exchange, she imbues her stories with deeper meaning than you might expect.
Charles is a lawyer looking to land a spot at a prestigious firm that he hopes will lead to a life of luxury. He’s spent weeks preparing for the interview, and has rehearsed answers to every possible question, but proves woefully unprepared for the shocking, vulgar request made of him. Instead of just walking away, he snaps back at the other man, insulting him and his company – and Justin is not the kind of man who takes such treatment lying down.
I loved how Miss Irene structured the tale here, drawing out not just the reader’s suspense, but that of Charles as well. He’s given just enough time and information to understand the kind of man he’s crossed, to begin to fathom the depraved kinks to which Justin and his wife are accustomed, before he’s abducted into their dark world of erotic pet trafficking. What follows is a story of physical and mental conditioning, feminization, body modification, and sexual slavery. He’s manipulated in ways that aren’t fully clear until later in the story, with some twists and revelations that undo your reading of the story as much as they do his reality.
What’s ironic is that, with its darkest aspects removed, this could be a safe, pleasant fantasy of erotic submission. There’s a guilty appeal to certain experiences, and that is precisely what makes it all so sinister. Miss Irene offers just enough of what her readers crave to draw them into the story, and only once she has us in her grasp does she reveal what we’ve gotten ourselves into. Kitty’s Cream is a wild, extreme story, as much a thriller as a work of erotica, but it’s so beautifully crafted that every scene is worth admiring.

They consisted of hand-drawn erotic illustrations that echoed the style of the 1930s, accompanied by text that could have been written at any time in this century. It’s completely unknown who Montorgueil was, much less whether he was the author, the artist, or both. Original editions are rare collector’s items, with the content varying (sometimes wildly) from one edition to another.
Since there is no definitive English edition of his work, Miss Irene Clearmont set about putting together a translated version of Dressage that not only tells and shows the complete story, but explores the mystery behind it.
This new edition opens with a fascinating introduction by Miss Irene that is worth reading even if you’re already familiar with Montorgueil’s work. In it, she explores her first encounters with the book, the history behind it, her thoughts on how it came to be published, and why she feels it’s an important work to preserve and revisit. As a long-time fan of Miss Irene, it was exciting to get a glimpse of the woman behind the stories, and to share in her thoughts on fetish and fashion as it relates to Dressage. She also explains her approach to the translation, and her footnotes throughout explain why she made some of the choices that she did.
As for Dressage itself, it’s a story within a story within a story, accompanied by gorgeous black-and-white illustrations. At its heart, it’s a story of the images and the experiences to which they relate. At a layer above that, it’s a story of a young man being punished by a group of older women for having dared to peek at the images. And then, at its final layer, it’s the story of a Master and his slave discussing their reactions to the deeper stories as they enact their own scenes of domination and punishment.
Whether it’s 60 years old or 90, the activities and costumes of Dressage are still immediately familiar to anybody who has even dabbled in BDSM. It has elements and male and female domination, whipping and spanking, the use of toys, feminization, and fetish gear including stockings, boots, and corsets. It’s easy to look at the images and lose yourself in the scene, and Miss Irene’s translation makes those scenes come alive in a way that’s accessible to modern English readers.
I think what’s most marvelous about Dressage, no matter who is behind it or how it came about, is how authentic it feels, grounded in activities that feel more genuine than fantasy, and how wide of an audience it speaks to. The layers of the story allow Dom/mes and subs of all genders to find something to which they can relate, making this feel timeless.

Books like Crossdressing (2007) and Yes, Ma’am (2008) were as much comfort as inspiration for me as I navigated my identity and sexuality, and having a story of mine accepted for Coming Soon (2021) is one of my proudest accomplishments.
Despite all of that, I’m almost ashamed to say I’ve read far more of what she’s edited than written, so Lap Dance Lust was the perfect excuse to indulge and enjoy. There’s a wide range of stories here covering various fetishes and pairings, different POVs, and even different writing styles. Rachel has a voice that carries through them all – a sex-positive voice of acceptance and empowerment – but no two stories read alike. There’s a variety there, a uniqueness to each story, that really needs to be celebrated.
I won’t review all 20 stories in the book, but it would be a sin not to call attention to a few of my favorites. The opening story, Lap Dance Lust, is just wonderful, and almost guaranteed not to be what you’re expecting from the title. Doing the Dishes was a masterpiece of fetish, a story that manages to make an ordinary chore extraordinarily erotic. spoke deeply to the submissive in me, an entirely captivating story that doesn’t contain a lick of dialogue.
The End is, far and away, the most emotionally powerful story in the collection, a story quite unlike anything I expected – it gutted me and made me pause. Special Request completely turned the tables though, a delightfully hedonistic story where appearances, expectations, and roles are fluid. Better Late Than Never was a delightful surprise, a coming-out story of realization and discovery that felt genuine and exciting.
My absolute favorite, though, was Secretary’s Day, a story of fantasy, daydreams, perseverance, wish fulfillment, and female domination. Caught in the Act was a close second, a bookstore exhibitionist story with more than a little domination. Between the two, I want to go book shopping and change careers!
That’s only scratching the surface, though, and hardly even paying the cover charge for a little Lap Dance Lust. If you already know Rachel’s tastes, then you’ll love this, and if you’re just discovering here, what a wonderful place to start!

Frazier & Jessie Spectre, we hit the physical, emotional, and thematic midpoint of the saga. It starts out with some frisky, fetish-filled fun before it gets risky, then dark, and then somewhat ominous.
So, let’s get right to it. The fun involves another ‘delivery,’ which Eli is now wise enough to know means letting himself be used for some kinky sex by older men who can afford his affections. What makes this delivery so much fun is that Eli does it while dressed as Little Bo Peep. It’s sweet and adorable and oh-so-very naughty, and it ends in an act of passion that (once again) has consequences, but also involves a gratuity that raises questions.
Not to spoil anything, but at this point you really have to wonder if it’s even possible for Eli to repay his debt.
The whole Eli/Bernie dynamic grows even more muddled here, with glimpses of meaningful emotion mixed in with secrets, lies, and jealousy. I fear a confrontation is looming for poor Eli at the store, as not everyone appreciates how his presence has shifted Bernie’s behavior. Before we get to that confrontation, though, there is another in store within this chapter. I won’t go into detail (you can likely guess from the cover blurb), but it ties deep into the first two books and promises to have consequences for Eli when summer break is over.
As for the ominous part, that involves a certain freedom given to Clem, another new realm of discovery for Eli, and a final moment that feeds my fears of that looming confrontation. I’ve been very diligent about not reading ahead, but I had to peek at the blurb for Deception as soon as I was done . . . and it has my feelings a muddled as Eli’s relationship. I don’t want his story to end, but I need to know how it ends!

Now divorced, he's an eager sissy with a hunger for the affections of dominant men, a slut for their rockhard tools and the messes they leave all over him. He's obsessed to the point of distraction, and if His Panty Obsession isn't fed regularly, his life begins to fall apart around him.
What complicates matters is the teasing attentions of his new neighbor, Maggie. She's sexy and confident, and she seems to have a genuine interest in him, even if much of it is just erotic teasing. Of course, a woman like that could never be okay dating a sissy who loves being ganged by strange men . . . or could she?
As Nikki Ruffles promises on the cover, she can . . . and she does . . . and she is the character who makes this story come alive. The story we see develop is super kinky and terrifically trashy, with scenes of group sex, public exhibitionism, and erotic humiliation, but it's also wonderfully romantic, with a loving, supportive, empowering relationship growing between Reggie and Maggie. It's a best-of-both-worlds story, one that shows you can have your cake and eat it too.
If you're a sissy, a crossdresser, or just a submissive, you'll fall deeply in love with the experience. It's thrilling and messy and intense, but there's also drama to the story, a conflict that threatens to undo Reggie's happiness. His Panty Obsession is more than just bisexual smut, it's bisexual smut with romance and a plot, and it's a fabulous read.
