Definitely a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood I have never heard anywhere before. It had action, sexy (and delightfully steamy) times, and loads and loads of surprises. I mean, things I never saw coming. I liked that she made her own little family in the book and had such great people around her. And Aldrich *fanning myself* was about as good as it gets. This was a new take on wolves, on their abilities, and the way their pack worked. Cannot wait for the next part of this series....more

I liked Eden, especially seeing her let go of all the control she felt she always had to have. The king took some warming up to, but I feel that was kind of the point since he was known as heartless. So we got into his heart the more he let Eden in. My main problem with him was that he indulged in anything with other women after he knew he had a true mate. I mean, I get it's their customs, but I was not feeling it. All that aside, he finally got it together, and was adorable to Eden. There was action, fighting, some hard truths coming to light, and suspense. I loved seeing the couple from the last book. The ending was great and I'm already on the next book....more

They both went on journeys not knowing what the outcome of them would be. And always, they carried each other in their hearts, even when they didn't really want to. Their kingdoms were at war again and nothing could stop it from happening. Nothing except Sigrid and Nadir having to take on mantles neither of them wanted to carry. And so they were left with the choice of themselves, their love, or their kingdom again. The ending was my favorite part of this story. The revelations, the plots, the action, the romance all came to a head at the end and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Can't wait to read the next book....more

Good amounts of action, sexiness, and push and pull in the romance. I loved getting to know about both kingdoms and the threats they faced. Kellan and Nora both had their moments where I wanted to slap them for their choices, but at the end of the day, they were perfect for each other. They just had to come to that conclusion on their own as well. While I was reading, I was hoping to hear more about her sisters, so I was thrilled when I got to the end and realized the next book is about one of them. Can't wait to read it....more

What I loved the most about this book was the growth of the main characters. Sigrid went from basically wanting to slit her new husband's throat to realizing he was someone she could love. She saw the Beastkin back home and her old way of life through new eyes. She was already a warrior, but she found something truly worthwhile to fight for. She let the dragon part of herself into her heart and it was amazing to read. Nadir truly was the boy king. He was a puppet, a puppet I couldn't stand at first. But the more I read, the more I understood him, why he did certain things, why he allowed others to go on thinking they had all the power through him. I slowly watched him change and morph into a new person, into a man who would rule his kingdom the way he liked. Plus, his secrets were oh so good. Some characters I loved, like Camilla who went with Sigrid to this enemy country without even being asked. Her loyalty never failed. Some I hated, like every freaking advisor that Nadir had. Ugh. The book was full of battles, both literally, and battles of the heart and even against themselves, against what they considered right and wrong. The action and romance made this a great read, which had me on the edge of my seat a lot of times. Th ending, although it slowly ripped my heart to pieces, has me pining for book 2....more

This was a good conclusion to this series. Seeing the bad guys get what was coming to them and seeing fate bring love to Michael as well. Michael was a super alpha, but still so caring and willing to give up so much to have Luna by his side. Luna's story was a journey of being saved, finding love, and also realizing who she was meant to be all along. I loved getting to know Luna's sisters and seeing more into Leo's life. Good amount of action and sexy times. Cute epilogue and a look five years down the line. Can't wait for the cresent pack book....more

This was a really good start to a series. You get a lot of backstory, on not just Rafe, but the pack as well. Rafe was a damaged, broken soul who needed his mate to piece him back together, him and his wolf. Zoey had spent most of her life wanting one man, and then fate came along and flipped everything on its head. It was interesting to see her get many of the things she'd always wanted, just not in the way she'd thought. There was some action towards the end with a pack that'll be featured more in the next book, which I can't wait for.... Especially for the next couple....more

This story could have been better had it been for one thing.... The heroine having some damn backbone. She's so hurt and mad and 1 paragraph later she's forgiving and understanding, no matter what the 'hero' does. And he was major asshole. Major. I did like the mystery of the other pack moving in and wanting her for whatever reason, but the ending wasn't executed very well and really had no solution for this part. Lots of parts weren't explained fully and that really annoyed me. Something kept me reading to the end, but I really couldn't tell you exactly what... The hope that it would get better? Idk. Overall an ok read that would've been much better with better storylines and more answers....more

You don't actually get much shifter activity in the book, but I liked the back story a lot. It was insta-love but very sweet because the moment Hudson saw Kay, he only had eyes for her and told her how much she meant to him. Kay definitely needed a confidence boost throughout the story, but she found her place a little towards the end. Overall sweet book.

There was a lot of action and sexiness packed into a short read. I could've done with more dragon-ish stuff in the book, but overall pretty good. The romance was believable and they had to fight for it, in more ways than one. Happy ending....more

There was action, romance, surprises, and politics. I loved that Liana was a lion shifter and actually the more powerful of the two in her animal form. This is definitely a new dynamic. The way things were so different in the lion and wolf courts was really interesting, the traditions and the way even the marriages were. Noble had some moments that really made me want to smack him, but he eventually came around and got his head on straight and realized just what he had in Liana. There were plenty of fights and scenes of the shifters sizing each other up. There were a few surprises throughout the book I was not expecting, especially towards the end when a lot of secrets came to the light. The story ends on a cliffhanger and I', looking forward to continuing with the next book....more

A girl from a powerful mage family, but seems to not have powers of her own. She ends up in a bad situation, but is rescued by a dragon. In this new kingdom she discovers who she truly is and finds a love as well. I liked Xandrie. She was brave, unselfish, and willing to fight for what she wanted (literally). I liked Rhey, the king, a lot too. From the moment he saw Xandrie, he only had eyes for her. Even though there's a claiming going on to decide his queen, he already knew she was the one for him. There was a good amount of action and fighting between the claiming and evil forces threatening the dragon kingdom. 1 star off because the romance could've had more substance. And the sex scenes were glossed over big time. Another star off because the ending got really choppy. It was weird for things to suddenly be reading like bullet points in a story. There weren't many reviews, so I went in pretty blind. It started off with a bang, a city seemingly terrorized by beasts that come prowling every night and if you're not indoors.. well you won't be around come morning. But when Charlotte ends up outside after dark, the king of beasts realizes she's his mate. What unfolds is a whirlwind romance, plenty of action and pack business. I loved the fighting and how much authority Gabe demanded. And how he basically wooed Charlotte instead of dumping everything on her about being mates and expecting her to get with it or else. Then there was the drama of trying to figure out who was truly a danger to Charlotte. I must say I was surprised at the turn of events in that regard. Like damnnnn, you fooled us all. It got dropped to 4 stars because the pov would change with no notice and you wouldn't figure it until you were a few sentences in. That messed me up a few times. Big cliffhanger at the end....more

There were usually guards around and it just isn't my thing to know people could hear them knocking boots. It took too long for them to reveal they were shifters. Meanwhile I'm sitting here wondering why (can't remember her name) isn't weirded out by the fact that everyone is always sniffing her. Hello. Clue number 1 that something ain't right. What I liked?
