Cyborg Seduction by Grace Goodwin Interstellar Brides: The Colony series #3. Science fiction romance with erotica elements. Can be read as a stand-alonCyborg Seduction by Grace Goodwin Interstellar Brides: The Colony series #3. Science fiction romance with erotica elements. Can be read as a stand-alone but better as part of the interconnected group of series by the author. Single mother Lindsey Walters agrees to an undercover assignment sneaking aboard a freighter going to the Colony. She needs to find out the truth about what’s happening to Earth’s brave soldiers. While on the Colony she meets and falls for Kiel, a Hunter from Everis. He knows that she is his mate. But Lindsey left her son at home and she wants to return to him. She will have to decide between the two most important men in her life.
This was a heartbreaker as she falls in love with Kier but knows she can’t leave her son. Plus the science exists that can help her son recover from an accident. While she’s on the Colony, there is quite a bit of steamy times which makes it all the more difficult to choose to break her mates heart. An impossible choice. This was the first time I felt like I missed some background. With the list I found on the author’s website and Goodreads, I’ll probably go backwards at this point and read in order. I loved the story and resolution! It’s ultimately the perfect solution. But I want to know a little more background I think I missed. ...more

Spin off froSurrender to the Cyborgs by Grace Goodwin Interstellar Brides: The Colony series #1. Science fiction romance with erotica elements. M-F-M. Spin off from, and included with other series by the author. Can be read as a stand-alone. Rachel Pierce has been wrongly imprisoned after being a whistleblower for a drug company. She believes her court appeal will clear her name, but the others know her life is forfeit if she spends any time behind bars. Rachel agreed to be tested for the Interstellar Brides program for the science of it but expects to be able to clear her name before going anywhere. Maxim of Prillon Prime fought ten years in the Hive wars. Captured and tortured with his second, Ryston, they escaped only to be rejected by their own people and are condemned to a life on the Colony with other contaminated cyborg warriors. They learn of their mate at the same time they find out her life is in extreme danger. They transport to Earth to rescue Rachel and take her back to the Colony where she will be protected and loved by both her new mates if she’ll accept them. Not everyone is happy with these Warrior heroes and evil is snaking through their planet. Rachel, as a drug researcher may be just the person to help. If she agrees to stay.
The opening scene drops you right into the action so be warned. Rachel doesn’t know these men, but testing shows they are uniquely compatible. She will have to accept them both together for their mating to work. She can save their world literally and give hope to all the other warriors. Super sexy, hot and romantic. Two mates for Rachel whose goal is to always make her happy, loved and satisfied. Yowza! Keep this away from the youngsters. ...more
Asher’s Fall by Justin S Leslie The Descending Worlds Book #1. A Military Science fiction adventure. Captain Ben Daily and his crew of Viper Company arAsher’s Fall by Justin S Leslie The Descending Worlds Book #1. A Military Science fiction adventure. Captain Ben Daily and his crew of Viper Company are sent on a secret mission to track down and find out what happened to Captain Rick Bearing and his crew and ship, the Asher-5. Ben’s crew are some of the most elite fighters in the Fleet. Soon the USF Murphy is on its way to the edge of the Void on the outer reaches of the galaxy. They are able to find the crippled and dead ship but soon realize there is something more there. Something dark and alien. Something with potentially catastrophic implications for all of humanity.
Heart-pounding battles with some sad, inevitable casualties and confirmation that spies or traitors have sold out our world. It’s not all doom and gloom. There is quite a bit of slapstick humor including Sparky who looks most like a dog, but is an Alurian Battle Hound that can disappear and “shock” the aliens and mostly just cares about getting more ham to eat. There is also a sarcastic AI unit that goes by Alfred, has a British accent and likes television dramas. It’s not the end of the adventure and that’s made clear. Fortunately the next two books in the series are already available.

It is only the beginning of Stranger than Magic by Melinda VanLone House of Zannon series #1. Fantasy and romance. Cliffhanger in terms of the series. It is only the beginning of power dynamics. Tarrian is under attack. As the princess of the Dolphin Throne and a warrior, she feels it’s her responsibility to take down the enemy but how do you do that when a piece of the demon is inside you? The attack launches the Succession ceremony to put her on the throne and Tarrian must put aside her childlike escape and accept the set path of her future.
Tarrian must grow up fast in this first book in the series. She must decide on the multiple mates and species that will make up her child for the future of the throne. She uses her heart to make the decisions easier and she hopes, to strengthen her position and the throne. I enjoyed the scenes with her swimming and interacting with the dolphins. They had their own personalities which I found fun. I would like to see the relationships she started expand as the series does and how her various elemental magic abilities impact the world itself. Guess I have to read the next book to see if that happens. ...more

Commander Torek Renaar is ordered to purchase an animal companion to help relieve his PTSD symptoms. He purchases an exotic new breed called a “human” that has an extensive manual on care and feeding of the delicate creature. Torek is determined to get back to active duty and diligently grooms, trains and cares for his new pet. Delaney McCormick was kidnapped and has no way back to Earth. She witnessed her owner being killed and knows she can’t be anything other than a pet while she hides and lives in her new world. Acting like a pet entails “sit” and “stay” commands and enduring vet visits. As long as her new owner reads her manual, she should be warm, fed and relatively comfortable.
I loved the premise of this book if a little squeamish during the vet visits! Torek and Delaney were amusing getting to know each other and while it was inevitable that she would have to eventually show him that she was smarter than an average dog in our world, it was fun to read along as they tried to train each other. Loving comes naturally but also dangerously as she is exposed to the outside world that is totally foreign to her. The training was amusing and the reveal wonderful. It took longer than expected to get to the killer but the suspense when it did was well done. Overall enjoyed this sci-fi adventure and look forward to seeing the world expanded. ...more

Smith Book 7, the final book in the Cosmos’s Gateway series. Science fiction romance with erotica elements. Best read as part of the series. Runt, aka Amelia, is a serious hacker donating her skills to charity and fighting evil. Unfortunately she’s left a few enemies along the way and one has returned to bring her down. Derik came through the Gateway two years ago and met Amelia but she disappeared. Two years later and he thinks she might be ready to acknowledge him.
These two are young! They met when she was 16 and he was 17. They’ve both had difficult lives but two years later it seems to be the time for them to reconnect. Lots of twists in this one from a non-dead mother, to AI interference, and first time experiences gone kinky. Plus the criminal she stole $5 million from wants revenge. Engaging and racy. A neat conclusion with appearances from prior couples as part of the wrap. ...more

Enemies to friends troupe. Henry never believed the stories that Alice told about Wonderland. First, they were just unbelievable. And second, she probably just wanted the attention. Nevertheless, he gets pulled in and must befriend Hatter to find his way out.
Cute and amusing with visits to different parts and characters from the original story that are true to type. Henry is good at being snarky and the Queen is good at being evil. Whether you ever read Alice or not, this book is a trip to enjoy.

Trigger warnings at the very beginning of this book. To get past the worst, start at 11%, page 15 of 179, or 30:30 listening at 1.0.
Spoilers ahead ********** A group of women are kidnapped by an alien race and are dumped at a planet of a different race. We don’t know much about the kidnappers other than they don’t care about human women beyond sales, cattle or sexual release. I’m told that changes in future books. Georgia ventures out of the abandoned spaceship to find help, food and shelter for the group. After getting caught in a snare, she is rescued and mated by the leader of the planet inhabits. Great sex ensues even though they can’t understand each others language. More alien twists grant Georgie the ability to understand her mate and the two then rescue the rest of the women setting up future connections.
I think I didn’t like this book mostly because of the beginning issues. The story of fated mates and erotica that follows probably would have been easier to enjoy if someone had told me to start after page 15. The scene of having to eat the raw meat of the just killed and butchered animal still has me gagging. Yes, proud city girl here that orders take out and cooked meals only.
The romance was ok if just too coincidental. I may continue the series just to know the original kidnappers eventually get caught. Escapism if you enjoy the science fiction and destined or fated mates with plenty of erotic scenes. ...more
Demon Hunting in the Deep South by Lexi George Demon Hunting series book 2. Paranormal romance. Best read as part of the series. Demons and demon hunteDemon Hunting in the Deep South by Lexi George Demon Hunting series book 2. Paranormal romance. Best read as part of the series. Demons and demon hunters have invaded the small town of Homer, Alabama. Evie had her memories deliberately erased, but now that Ansgar has returned, she feels like she knows him enough to ask for his help figuring out who killed Meredith.
I did not like the consistent body shaming throughout the story. Meredith is a nasty ghost, we can all agree. But the continued insults were unnecessary and way too overdone. I did not like that Ansgar had an off-page sexual encounter trying to forget Evie. It’s explained as an accepted habit in his world. I didn’t like the church references.
I do like that Evie is as positive as she can be and her thoughts are for everyone else. I love that her shyness was overcome and she grew more confident by the end of the story. I found all the southernisms amusing such as “Crackers and cheese” used as an exclamation point or statement of surprise....more

Two time lines: one current crisis mode of the astronaut, the other as he remembers his past leading up to the current situation. The Sun is under attack by an unknown organism. It’s going to take all the world organizations working together to find a possible solution and prevent billions from dying. Ryland Grace is one of the scientists working on the problem. He’s also the only surviving astronaut left to figure out a solution to hopefully save humanity.
Powerful and complicated. So much science. I read it all, not really understating. It was a bit too much at times. Yes, I wanted to know how ....but did I need to know all the minutia? I could have lost a hundred pages without too much impact but still admire the mind and intelligence of the author to include it. Anyone that loves science will love the detail. Yes I will recommend it but stand by a little less would have been fine. I’m not going to spoil the ending, but will share it had me crying.

His rescuer, Ricky doesn’t understand the human’s need for privacy butt he smells intriguing and aroused. The two discover their differences and their similarities in this outrageous and sexy hot romance. Often laugh-out-loud humorous and uplifting with acceptance as a strong message.

A story mostly with the female characters and their thoughts on their relationships, themselves and what they might change if they could. Science fiction Graphic novel. Art by Francesco Gaston. A teen on the way to space camp gets saved by a Tardigrade when the transport she’s on is destroyed. From one evil to the next, Vess and Theo find their way through space and trying to avoid probing by aliens. Not always successfully.
Typical teen centric thought process with little care for the rest of the crew being dead. Moving on....we can admit she is smart and has learned her history lessons, but I have to question her opinion that Theodore Roosevelt looked like a teddy bear slash pig. It is funny that the galaxy is apparently obsessed with the U.S. 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. There certainly is plenty of material to pull from in those years.
It’s an engaging adventure with beautiful artwork. I don’t want to include spoilers, but will say the third guess was brilliantly thought out. ...more

Smith Book 1 of the Dragon Lords of Valdier series. Science fiction and paranormal romance. Dragon shifters from a different galaxy. Dragon shifter aliens, symbiot gold and a pervert that Abbie needs saving from. Then on to the dragon world where the threats are multiple.
Sexy hot dragons and lots of steamy sex. Consensual and on the dominate side. “You are mine, Abby. I have claimed you. You will learn to adapt.”
Amusing in places, steamy in others. Political issues and wars that need to be fought and protected. Phrases that pissed me off a bit but push back and communication resolve the differences. A romance that starts a trend and seeds a world with new ideas and another generation.
Excerpt: “Zoran looked at both his brothers. He had never seen them like this. “What is wrong?” “Wrong? Wrong, he asks,” Trelon growled, pointing the bottle at Zoran. “I’ll tell you what is wrong. You landed on a d[…] planet of females who would drive any male to distraction and then act like it is the male’s fault! No, you couldn’t land on a planet where our symbiots would want to kill the female and our dragons would find them repulsive. “No, you had to land on a planet where my symbiot is so infatuated with the female it does every d[…] thing she asks, regardless of what I say, and my dragon is so horny it is about ready to disembowel me if I don’t claim her before another male does, only I can’t catch her long enough to do so.” “You too?” Kelan looked blurry-eyed at Trelon. “My female refuses to even acknowledge me as a male. All she does is quote her name, rank, and some awful number I can’t remember. She insists I take her home. My symbiot is sleeping with her like it is her new pet, sending me images of her stroking and and scratching it and talking nonsense, while me and my dragon get to suffer.” Kelan grunted as his head fell forward. “She even said if I wanted to stay in my dragon form she would scratch my belly, “but she wouldn’t touch me with a ten-foot pole.” Excerpt From Abducting Abby: Dragon Lords of Valdier Book 1 by S.E. Alien Abduction Series book 9. Can be read as a stand-alone science fiction short romance. Previously published in a short term anthology called Loved in Space.
Clarabelle, one of the orphans from Earth in a prior book, is now an adult and on a quest to find more humans in the galaxy and hopefully a boyfriend.
Amusing and a fast read. Overlapping races and a few characters if you’ve read previous books. Lighthearted escapism with medium heat / sex scenes. I love this author’s humor, so it was fun to read another book in the series.
Excerpt “Fancy words don’t make it science.” “Actually, they do, because we have the studies to prove the existence of a sykyrah bond [mating bond]. Do you think you’re the first skeptic?” There was a time when his people used to fight the sykyrah, wondering why they had to obey, especially when the bond struck between a pair belonging to warring tribes. “Are you trying to tell me that people have managed to dissect these so-called matings? How?” she snorted. “Did they send out a survey and say hey, are you happy in your arranged marriage?” “No need to have couples submit anything given a sykyrah bond is very noticeable, not to mention measurable on a few scales.” “And because of some tests you’re going to claim instant love between people who never met before?” she challenged. “That’s how it happens most often. The turning of a corner, the sudden meeting of eyes.” “Then what? Lightning bolt?” “It’s a jolt of something. It’s hard to explain.” He shrugged. “But you felt it? With me?” she specified, making it obvious she hadn’t experienced the same. “We wouldn’t be talking otherwise.” “It’s one-sided only,” she stressed. “I don’t feel a thing.” “You will,” he said with assurance. Her lips flattened. “These sudden bonds, how many of them are successful long term? Do you have a lot of divorce?” The definition was a foreign concept. “There is no dissolution of a sykyrah bond, ever.” “What if the hubby turns out to be an abusive drunk? Or the wife cheats?” “A mated pair would never harm each other.” “If that’s true, then why do I want to slit your throat?” “Want and do are two mightily different things.” He didn’t worry given she’d sheathed her knives. “I’m sure in time I’ll make you content enough you’ll just want to strangle me.” Excerpt from Mate Abduction by Eve Langlais ...more

The comedy, that dry wit, the pacing and various voices that are unique and distinct. So much goodness. Sure, the story is entertaining on its own, but this one I would recommend the audio over reading. It can be read as a stand-alone but better background on how these characters are together and “family” if you read the first one. Explicit and hot sex included in the mostly male cast.
