You know where this is going, right? Yup. Again, all super sexy but I can't help but feel cheated out of the first idea. Once Liam showed up it was very Liam centered. ...more

Don't get me wrong-it is still steamy Sierra Simone usually pushes all the right buttons for me with her writing but I struggled with this one a bit. Don't get me wrong-it is still steamy as hell and the taboo subject didn't bother me-it just felt like the characters and the story line deserved better. None of it landed for me and I am glad this wasn't the first book of hers I've read because I probably would never have picked up another. Ahem. ...more

I have missed Nora and was excited to get even a small taste of her. Reisz's writing, which I have waxed poetic about in earlier reviews, is smart, complex and funny. Her characters are intense, flawed and beautiful. Take this all and wrap it up in a kinky bow and Jen is a very happy reader. That said, this novella fell a little short for me. I think the story path didn't feel authentic in relation to a long distance relationship (been there) and the kink was...well...kinda meh. I know, I know. Forgive me, mistress. :) ...more

Axel Hawke, the newest hottest rock star with a bad-boy reputation. He thinks he might be a dom and a chance encounter with Ricki proves it but now she won't give him the time of day.
Power struggle anyone? Ricki is used to making all the decisions and being at the top of her game in her business endeavors. Reconciling that with what turns her on in with her lover isn't an easy thing and I like that Tan shows us that struggle. I've had Tan on my list of BDSM authors to get to know and the jury is still out. The sex is blow your panties off hot but the story itself felt like there was a lot of plot holes that made it feel like a just ok read. ...more

Braeden Van Brunt is from newtime which is like now. He is so ripped that women throw themselves at him constantly. It is such a problem that for the most part he doesn't leave his apartment unless he absolutely has to. When his beloved brother has a heart attack he faces one of those moments and agrees to play the part of the headless horseman in Sleepy Hollow. Trying to find a room for that night, he runs into innkeeper Katrina Van Tassel. He is mesmerized because she doesn't profess her undying love and desire to have his babies in the first 30 seconds of their meeting. What he doesn't know is that Katrina is in shock because he looks just like the love of her life who disappeared four years ago. Oh, and she and the village of Sleepy Hollow are in oldtime. The two only come together once a year in newtime and every weekend in oldtime. Still with me? It's ok. There's lots of sex to read about until it sinks in.
This is the second Lexi Post book I've read as a judge. What I like about her books is that she takes a well known legend (she has multiple degrees in multiple areas) and poses different scenarios from what we are used to reading. Lots of little mysteries, intrigue, jealousy and perhaps a touch of witchcraft make it an entertaining read. ...more

Nope. Never. ...more

Cal has been the driver for his boss James Harcourt for over a year now and the things he has seen no longer surprise him-even his many trips to London's most elite gay brothel. What James doesn't realize is that Cal has more than a staffer's interest in him and has been watching the men James brings home. After an unexpected night of passion, Cal enlists the help of one of the rentboys to teach him how to fill James' needs and maybe just his heart, too.
I like the premise of this book but there was something about it that kept me from being fully invested in the characters. It is closer to novella length and maybe that is part of it. ...more

Don't yell at me for calling him a cripple-his brother does. Constantly.
Tara is also hot and knows it but is perfectly content keeping relationships at a distance as she works on growing her bakery which has recently hit a snag thanks to Devlin's scathing review about her lack of gluten-free stuffs. An accidental meeting with a group of friends on Tryst Island leads to a dare, sparks and lots of no strings sex.
I don't know. I started out really disliking Devlin and he wasn't able to make much of a recovery. Tara won me over with a hilarious depantsing outside the bar when Devlin really thought he was getting a happy ending from a hot stranger. Good grief. ...more

A super steamy, polyamorous historical romance. Who knew?
Pia and Anna are in love but it is 1808 in Spain and being together outside of the convent is not an option. Anna sets out determined to find a suitable man that hopefully doesn't want to have sex with her to marry and then fetch Pia. Almost immediately she meets Sebastian and suddenly she is in love with him, too. If you can buy into that premise, then you'll be fine. Turns out Sebastian has no problem with Anna and Pia as he is in love with Farleigh, who when he enters the mix falls for Pia. Three's company but four makes a family.
The story is kinda silly but if you like a lot of passion and don't shy away from bisexual characters and definite d/s relationships it is an easy read.

Maya Banks is near the top of erotica authors for me. She usually tells a good and realistic story with well-written and super hot sex scenes. Perhaps because this one is shorter, the story fell flat. It resolved too quickly to be believable. However! Grab a fan, a nice ice-cold drink of tea or your favorite partner for the rest of it. Cheers!

What I like about Tiffany Reisz...her books are complicated, messy and painful. Her characters are flawed, twisted and beautiful. Her love is intricate, intense and redeeming. Nothing conforms to society norms. You can take books, characters and love and place them into any of those three sentences and it still works. What's not to love about this? ...more
