though I've only read half of this, I feel confident enough to copy and paste the ol' reliable classic sci-fi book review: - immersive, atmospheric, and well-thought out world building - complicated plot that starts out interesting but becomes absolutely bonkers - misogynistic sex scene that focuses so much on the woman's breasts, genitals, and moaning, you'd be forgiven for forgetting that the (unlikeable, utterly charmless, yet somehow irresistible) male protagonist is even in the room, let alone balls deep inside of her...more

Had no idea it was adult horror/contemporary fiction?? Which is fine but...the minute they started experimenting on/killing rabbits I just had to stop, I do NOT want to read that loll
The fact it was endorsed by Lena Dunham should have been the first red flag tbh. I get it's supposed to be satirical but it was so parodical it was beyond the belief and, quite frankly, irritating. And the protagonist - Samantha - had absolutely nothing going for her. So bland, no personality whatsoever.
Normally I power through books I'm not enjoying for the sake of finishing them but I'm not reading about exploding rabbits ...more
