It’s pretty rare for me; I usually wish I could spend more time with the characters and what they are going through… novellas always feel too short. While I definitely could’ve spent a lot more time with these two in general, the story itself was perfectly suited for this length. Totally adored it, and I’m not surprised at all given who wrote it....more

It started out as a silly goofy time and I was trying to stop laughing when my husband was sleeping next to me. It got a lot more sweet and emotional as the book carried on, which made it so well-rounded and enjoyable! The characters were charming and unique and I’m so glad this one turned around my reading mojo lol. ...more

I really loved thiThis is the kind of book that you could easily sit and read in one sitting so I’m a little annoyed it took me so long to finish it! I really loved this. I’ve enjoyed Morrill’s young adult books and was so quick to request this from NetGalley when I saw she wrote an adult contemporary romance. The main character was occasionally frustrating but I have to say, the lack of drama and miscommunication in this one (especially in a few key areas near the end) was just perfect. There were a few repetitive sentences but they’re the type of thing that I think probably got cleaned up before the finished copy. I really hope she continues writing more books for adult readers! There’s the same charm and banter as her YA books so if you’re a fan of hers in general, I would recommend checking this one out as long as you don’t mind some spice!...more

Every character and plot line has been so interesting to follow and well-developed. The first 10% of the book was a little too repetitive in Sinclair and Rett’s heads but it quickly improved from there. Incredibly low drama - they had normal conversations and disagreements occasionally throughout the book but no true ~dramatic breakup~ moment. My fave! Highly recommend this companion series if you’re someone who sometimes misses couple 1 from book 1 and wants to see major cameos and page time in book 2....more

4.5 stars. Ashley Poston wrote another winner! I give THE DEAD ROMANTICS the edge by half a star but still this was so good. I don’t know if I’m just 4.5 stars. Ashley Poston wrote another winner! I don’t know if I’m just swept up in the magic of the story and my inability to put her books down once I start, but this was really lovely. I could have used a bit more of the romance to beef it up but I found it believable anyways. Her premises are so unique - I can’t wait to see what she comes up with next. ...more

I’ve been wanting to get back on my faerie bullshit and this book was a perfect way to continue those feels. I’m struggling to find the words to describe it! It’s really a cozy, light book with minimal drama and conflict. It reads as Emily’s journal so it can be a little hard to connect the dots sometimes without seeing the events of the story happen live, but it was still such an enjoyable experience. I loved Emily and Wendell and the snowy setting. It really made me want to rent a log cabin with a big fireplace and read all weekend while looking for faeries in my spare time. ...more
