Morgan makes a big mistake that puts her career on the line, so her boss tells her to take the holidays off. Morgan agrees to go home only because she's able to plan a big event that could help her image with her company. But that means running into Rachel, who she definitely didn't leave on good terms with. Rachel is working at her family's tree farm that has been struggling, and Morgan wants to help. The two end up spending a lot of time together to plan the holiday event and save the small business of the town from being taken over by a big corporation. This has your typical city girl going back to her small town and having to confront and old love and I really enjoyed it! The ending had a lot of soul searching involved and having to communicate in order to find their HEA together. Definitely a cute small town, second chance romance that's also ex-friends to lovers over the holiday season that I'd recommend picking up!...more

Gavin and Oliver are teammates and don't exactly get along. Their coach makes them co-captains, though, and the two have to work together for their team. Oh, and they're neighbors. They have to spend a lot of time together, share hotel rooms, sit next to each other, drive to practice together...forced proximity galore! I loved how this was a grump/sunshine romance and how they slowly started to fall for each other as they spent more time with each other. Their dynamic was so fun and I really appreciated how Gavin had chronic pain and we got to see how that really affects someone and their ability to perform at such a high level as a professional athlete. They both end up being super sweet to each other, even if they pull pranks and get frustrated with each other. I just ate this story up and ended up listening to the entire audiobook in one day! ...more

We also got to know both Calvin and Emery as people and why their podcasts were important to them. They had a little bit of animosity towards each other, but they had to collaborate on a show for a fan and I loved how they bantered and grew closer! Sure they still had moments where they fought, but they slowly opened up to each other and I really loved the development of their relationship. I loved how Delilah had to come back to their small town in order to take photographs for her stepsThis was so cute and had so many amazing elements! I loved how Delilah had to come back to their small town in order to take photographs for her stepsister's wedding. Delilah and Astrid have never gotten along, and Delilah has always felt left out ever since her father died. Despite their tumultuous relationship, Delilah agrees to return home and help out Astrid. Her first day there, though, she sees Claire, Astrid's best friend and a single mom. And she hits on Delilah the moment she steps into a bar, not realizing she's Delilah. I loved Delilah and Claire's dynamic and how they obviously were attracted to each other, but Claire didn't want to betray her best friend and she was dealing with drama with her daughter's father. Delilah also doesn't feel like she belongs and doesn't want any ties to their small town. But their chemistry as SO GOOD and I loved every moment Delilah and Claire were on page together. While this was a really good romance, there was also a lot to the friendships and relationships in this book. Delilah had to really reflect on her relationship with her sister and confront some misconceptions she had about their past. Then, Astrid, Iris, and Claire had the best friendship and I loved them all interacting. I do think I would have loved this even more if I hadn't listed on audio because I did feel like the story dragged a bit in the middle, but I really enjoyed this story overall! ...more

Yesssss! Give me a romance with a little paranormal element thrown in! I didn't know what to expect going into this one, but I really ended up enjoying it!! I really loved how Jane was this mysterious girl on the subway that August just could not forget about and started to grow closer to. It was so fun watching August piece together who Jane was and rope in her friends to help her try and figure out why Jane was where she was. Their romance was angsty and I really enjoyed how much they fell for each other in such a short amount of time. The little snippets throughout the years between chapters about Jane were also really fun! The audiobook was especially great and I found myself excited to get back to reading. The ending moved so quickly and I was dying to find out how August and Jane were going to make it work. Everything just started to unravel and I had to read until the end. The side plot of August's relationship with her mom and finding her missing uncle really came together and I appreciated that part of the story. I do think August's revelation about her future felt a little forced, but overall I really enjoyed this romance! ...more

I really loved how Dev and Charlie slowly fell for each other, but also that this book really focused more on the behind the scenes of the show and rarely showed us the actual show itself. Dev truly cared for Charlie and would do anything to protect him from the girls on the show and anything the producers tried to have Charlie do. We got to see Dev and Charlie grow as friends and then Charlie's attraction slowly grow into something more for Dev. They were seriously the cutest and I loved all of the dates they went on. There was also so much discussion about mental health and anxiety and OCD and I loved the open discussions our characters had about that. There was a lot of talk about therapy and so many emotions with all of our characters. Yes! Give me all of the emotions!! I also loved the side characters we had and our supportive they were for our main characters. And the ending?? So adorable. I loved every second of reading this book! ...more

But after their week together, things turned weird, Olivia got back together with her boyfriend, and they haven't seen each other since. Ten years later, Olivia is divorced and runs into Margot again at a wedding she's planning. The two are constantly thrown together and forced to confront what happened all of those years ago. I really loved how Olivia and Margot had this undeniable chemistry that they both couldn't forget from their short time together in their past. Now, they still have that chemistry but their lives have become a lot more complicated. It was fun seeing them thrown together for wedding things and I loved seeing some of the characters from the previous books! I will say, this is really low angst (in regards to the romance) and our couple gets together fairly early on (around 30% in). I would have loved some more pining and angst in their romance. There was definitely some drama thrown in to add conflict to their romance, but I would have loved a bit more pining in the beginning between the two. I definitely think we need more sapphic historical romances, though, and I really loved the way this one was set up. Lucy was in love, but the woman she loved left her to marry a man and live a "proper life" in society. Now, she finds herself very drawn to Catherine, who is a widow and who needs a text translated that Lucy can help with. I did love that both women had individual lives and pursuits and were fighting for the rights of women in male spaces at the time. Definitely a historical romance I would recommend! ...more

Okay, I'm officially obsessed with Keira Andrews' books. I LOVED this one and it's an age gape M/M romance between a catcher and a pitcher. The catcher, Jake, used to play with the pitcher's, Nico's, older brother, and Nico has had a crush on Jake ever since he was young. Nico comes from a conservative family, so he's always been ashamed of being gay and has tried to deny that part of him. But with Jake, he's finally giving into his attraction. The romance between Jake and Nico was PERFECT and I loved all of the baseball in this. Since they're both baseball players on the same team, we get so much baseball content and I loved it. While they were falling in love, Jake was helping Nico become a better pitcher and learn to control his anger. I literally read this in one day because I couldn't put it down. I would definitely recommend picking it up! ...more

Jason iI am quickly becoming a romantic suspense fan and this one was exactly what I needed. And it had such a cute romance that I was just obsessed. Jason is 25 and the single dad of an 8 year old girl. He works so hard to give his daughter the life she deserves, and they finally have enough money to go camping in the mountains, which his daughter has always wanted to do. They meet Ben, who's a park ranger, and Ben and Jason are immediately attracted to each other, but neither one of them wants to make a move. Ben offers to take them on various hikes, but one takes a turn for the worse when Jason's daughter is kidnapped by a killer on the run. This book was so fast-paced and I could not put it down! I loved how slow and sweet the romance between Jason and Ben was. Jason was adorable with how dedicated he was to his daughter and how he would literally sacrifice everything for her. He was so hard on himself and I just wanted him to put himself first when it came to his love life. I had no idea how they were going to get Jason's daughter back or how they were going to make their relationship work. I was hooked until the end and would definitely recommend picking this book up!...more

His next mission is to look at space the military is thinking of using, which means the attractive Ranger has to show him around. Kin isn't necessarily happy living in the tundra, especially since he feels like he'll always be alone. But when he and Jack get stuck overnight in a blizzard together, things start to heat up. I love Cat Sebastian, so I was excited when this audiobook finally came in at the library. I really loved Percy and Kit as characters. That was definitely the best part of this book. Their romance was so adorable and I loved how Kit slowly broke down and let Percy in. I will say, though, that the heist plot was a bit of a let down. I did enjoy how Percy and Kit trained together and how Percy was fighting for money, but it felt like the planning for the heist dragged on and then felt a bit anticlimactic when it happened. I'm also still confused about the blackmailing, what they actually found, and why Percy wanted what he wanted. There was just a lot going on that I felt took away from the romance in the end. ...more

SO SAD AND EMOTIONAL. This book is about Julian and Deacon, who are both still grieving over the loss of Rhett. Julian was Rhett's boyfriend and Deacon was Rhett's brother and they're still grieving losing Rhett. Julian is living in the past and refuses to move on while Deacon feels like he will still never be as good as Rhett in the eyes of his parents. Julian and Deacon grow closer at the one year anniversary of Rhett and start falling for each other. I really loved the first half of this book and how emotional and then playful the story grew. Deacon really let his walls come down as he started to fall for Julian. The emotion was still always there, but I loved how they turned playful as they were flirting with each other and acknowledging their attraction for one another. After that, though, the story really slowed down for me and I stopped really loving the story. While I was all-consumed for the first half, I was just passively listening to the audiobook for the second half. That vulnerability between the heroes was still there, but the plot itself wasn't as engaging anymore. But if you want an emotional and slightly forbidden read, I'd recommend picking this up! ...more

TW for mentions of suicide, sexual assault, and loss of a loved one.
Gah, where do I start? I always have SUPER HIGH expectations when I start a new PTW for mentions of suicide, sexual assault, and loss of a loved one.
Gah, where do I start? I always have SUPER HIGH expectations when I start a new Penelope Douglas book. This one definitely felt like she was going back to her roots of Bully and Punk 57. We haven't had one of those in a while, and I devoured this book. Clay and Liv are enemies. They both play lacrosse together, but Clay has made it her mission to make Liv know she is not welcome and that she hates her. Clay is rich and popular while Liv is from the other side of the tracks. Both girls go head to head but they won't be able to fight their attraction for long.
This is definitely a bully romance and both girls pull no punches when it comes to hurting one another when they're feeling hurt. That's the usual cycle with bully romances, though, and it's only a matter of time before they work things out. This book was looooong and I don't know if I necessarily think it had to be that long, but I really loved the character development Clay when through. Liv knows who she is and is out to everyone. Clay, on the other hand, denies her attraction to Liv and is determined to show everyone she's straight and that she hates Liv. This becomes hard, though, when Liv and Clay start giving into their attraction because, in public, Clay is still trying to keep her sexuality a secret, especially since she's still confused about what her sexuality even is.
What really made this book for me, aside from the romance, was the side characters. I loved all of Liv's brothers and would LLOOOOVVVEEEE books for them! I don't now if that would happen, but there's so much backstory there and I loved how protective her brothers were and how they would always show up for her, no questions asked. Then, near the end, I really enjoyed Clay's storyline with her parents and how that all played out. I wasn't the biggest fan of Clay's friends and I would have liked to see them more genuinely there for her more than just at the end.
I also loved how this was also a sports romance! They both play lacrosse and we actually get to see games and practices, which I loved. Liv is also in theater, so we get to see her at play practice and the performance. I loved how fleshed out these two characters were and how they had so much to them. In a lot of high school bully romances, the characters lack depth or even a hobby, so I enjoyed how these two characters had fully lives and hopes for their futures.
Overall, this had me in my feels and so nostalgic for Penelope's older books. If you love her NA high school bully romances, you're going to love this. Penelope doesn't hold back on the steam, but she also doesn't hold back on the enemies/hate aspect of the romance. ...more

This one is about a boy named Andre who just received a liver transplant. With his transplant, though, comes the ability to time travel and Andre finds himself traveling back to the 1960s and meeting a boy who lives in the house Andre currently lives with his family. The two start falling for each other, but Andre is trying to understand where his powers come from as he starts to also fall for someone from his current time. As a love triangle, this was cute, but I do think more development needed to happen with both romances. I feel like we didn't get enough time with Andre and his two love interests to actually believe he was falling for both of them. I did love the whole time traveling aspect of this book and how Andre was learning about how he came about those powers and how to control them. This was definitely a unique story and I really loved all of the characters involved, I just wanted a little bit more development of the romances. ...more

Nathaniel is kidnapped by pirates and held for ransom by the notorious Captain Sea Hawk. Hawk was betrayed by Nathanial's father and has a personal vendetta against him. As Nathaniel is kept prisoner in Hawk's rooms, the two quickly realize they have a physical attraction to one another that is hard to ignore. I loved how Nathaniel was finally able to explore a relationship with a man after being raised feeling disgraced and disgusted with himself and his desires. This physical attraction turns into something more and it was so precious watching Nathaniel and Hawk falling for one another. My only complaint is that too much of the story took place confined in Hawk's room and I wish the plot moved a little quicker or that there was a little more action in the middle of the book. The ending is where things really picked up and I really couldn't stop reading then. But for a great m/m pirate romance, I'd highly recommend picking this book up! ...more

Enemies with benefits??? This book was perfection. I loved how we got to go through Shane and Ilya's relationships, beginning with when they met as teenagers as they were both rising in the ranks as hockey stars to now as they're both playing for different teams and doing really well in their season. They were always put against each other and seen as rivals, so that's what they became. But one night leads to something more and the two give into the brewing attraction between them. They keep that attraction, though, to secret meetings of steamy nights and that's it. I loved their attraction and how they truly didn't want to fall for each other. But they slowly opened up to each other about their pasts and what was hurting them, and I loved how they ran to be there for each other whenever they needed help. They had off the charts chemistry and I could not get enough of them. And we got a lot of hockey in here, which I absolutely loved.
