Meine Gedanken zum Buch: Sofort von der ersten Seite an wird man mitgerissen in diese Geschichte und komplexe Welt, die Lacroix hier erschaffen hat. Diana lebt in einer Welt, ähnlich wie unserer, nur dort ist es der Fall, dass sich irgendwann übernatürliche Wesen zu erkennen gegeben haben (nach einem Vorfall mit einem Werwolf). Seitdem gibt es einige Institutionen, die solche bösartigen Wesen aus dem Verkehr ziehen oder andere – wie Magiebegabte Menschen – überwachen, damit diese mit ihrem Zauber nichts anstellen.
Gleich in der ersten Szene begleiten wir Diana mitten in einem Kampf mit einer bösartigen Hexe, die Diana verflucht und was erst dazu führt, dass sie die Hilfe eines Werwolf und eines guten Hexers annehmen muss, um zu überleben und die Handlung einige Monate später richtig einsetzt und an Fahrt aufnimmt.
Dieser Sprung war zwar von der Handlung her logisch und ging wohl auch nicht anders, aber ich muss gestehen, ein paar Probleme mit diesem Sprung in der Storyline gehabt zu haben, besonders in den ersten Kapiteln. Irgendwie wurde so viele vorneweggenommen. Zuerst kam das Kennenlernen von Diana und Jamie und dann nach Monaten sind sie bereits gute, vertraute Freunde. Ich hätte diese erste Kennenlern-Phase – auch wenn sie nur freundschaftlich ist – gerne etwas genauer miterlebt, da ich gerade diese ‚Anfänge‘ in Büchern immer total gerne lese. Auch die fast nicht vorhandene Liebesgeschichte hat mir etwas gefehlt und kurzzeitig dachte ich, eine gewisse Sachen würde mir nicht ganz bekommen, aber zum Glück hat sich diese ‚Situation‘ dann bald geändert und der Weg für D + J war frei. Obwohl noch nichts passiert ist, konnte man das gewisse Prickeln bereits spüren und daher bin ich meega gespannt auf den zweiten Teil bzw. die weiteren Teile, denn ich denke, das könnte sich genau nach meinem Geschmack entwickeln. *hehe* :p
Denn bis auf den Teil mit der Romanze war es schon jetzt genau mein Buch und Genre! <3 Bzw. auch die Hauptfigur Diana war total nach meinem Geschmack. Ich habe ja einen Faible für Charas, die tough sind, ne große Klappe haben und sich nach außen hin knallhart geben, aber innen drin doch einen weichen Kern haben, denn man erst ergründen muss. So ist Diana und es hat auch einen Grund, warum sie ist, wie sie ist. Außerdem hat sie einen tollen Humor und liebt wie ich Kaffee – keinen Tee! ;) Tja, und was soll ich zu Jamie sagen außer SABBER, Schmacht und *in Ohnmacht fall*! Bitte, bitte mehr von ihm und gerne auch noch öfter Oberkörperfrei! :D Er ist von Anfang an ein Typ, der das Herz am rechten Fleck hat, einen guten Sinn für Humor beweist und ja, einfach mal nett ist, ohne sich ständig als Arsch zu benehmen, wie es oft in solchen Büchern vorkommt. Nein, Jamie ist einer von den Guten, auch wenn er manchmal etwas über die Stränge schlägt – seiner andere Natur eben geschuldet, wogegen man nichts machen kann und ich auch gar nichts dagegen habe… kann ruhig etwas ‚härter‘ werden^^ *hust* :D So, bevor ich jetzt noch rot werde, höre ich jetzt auf zu schwärmen … ja, die beiden waren toll! *hihi*
Was ich neben den Protas richtig gut fand, war der Schreibstil. Es lässt sich super angenehm lesen und man merkt von der ersten Seite an, dass Lacroix ihr Handwerk beherrscht. Toller Stil, den man gerne liest. Außerdem scheut sie sich nicht, auch brutaler zu schreiben und die Dinge beim Namen zu nennen. Das Ende kam ebenfalls überraschend und hat eine Wendung genommen, die ich nicht kommen sah! *top*
