Wobei ganz so rätselhaft war das Ganze jedoch auch nicht, da schon das Cover und der Titel so einiges verrieten.
Wer die Reihe kennt, der weiß, dass jedes Kapitel von einem anderen Charakter handelt. Das war auch diesmal so, aber mit dem Unterschied, dass diesmal eben nur die Frauen waren, die von ihren Erlebnissen berichteten. Ich persönlich fand das wirklich interessant, zumal die Autorin schon ankündigte, dass der nächste Band eben nur aus der Sicht der Männer wäre.
Wer die Reihe bis jetzt verfolgte, dem dürften sofort einige weibliche Charaktere einfallen, von denen man mal mehr oder auch mal weniger erfuhr. Um so schöner war es daher diesmal, dass man eben auch weiblichen Nebenfiguren die Möglichkeit gab, diese besser kennenzulernen. Anfangs dürfte dies zwar noch irritieren, da man anhand der Namen manchmal nicht sofort wusste, wer dies eigentlich war, aber schon nach ein paar Zeilen gab es meist einen AHA-Effekt.
Durch den leicht anderen Aufbau des Buches gab es jedoch auch mehr Abwechslung. Mir fiel besonders auf, dass es diesmal kein wirkliches Hauptthema gab, sondern es, wie in der Buchbeschreibung auch beschrieben wird, um einen Sammelband an verschiedensten Schicksalen handelte. Den Titel des Buches fand ich daher noch gut gewählt, denn oftmals ging es um Familie, aber das Cover hätte ich anders gestaltet.
Was ich ebenfalls schöner gefunden hätte, wären Hindernisse. Auch wenn ich die Reihe für ihre Wohlfühlmomente sehr schätze, gab es stets Probleme, die man angehen musste und die nicht sofort gelöst wurden. Danach flossen zwar meist Tränen, aber man fühlte mit den Charakteren. Dieser Aspekt fehlte mir hier in vielen Abschnitten. Der Band war mir daher einfach zu glatt, was bei einem Buch über Schicksale schon echt schade ist.
Fazit:
Mein diesmaliger Ausflug in die Blumengasse war anders. Den Aspekt, dass man diesmal alles nur aus der Sicht der weiblichen Charaktere sah, gefiel mir sehr, zumal auch weniger bekannte Figuren eine Bühne geboten wurde. Jedoch fehlten mir in einigen Abschnitten einfach die Momente, wo es ein Hindernis oder Problem wirklich zu lösen gab. Die Handlungen fühlten sich dadurch nicht natürlich an und verloren dadurch ein wenig ihren Reiz. Dafür ging es wieder in die Apokalypse, jedoch aus meiner Sicht, in eine Zeit vor dem ersten Band. Genau datieren konnte ich es jedoch nicht. Wie bereits erwähnt lag diesmal der Fokus vorallem auf Cassandra und ihren Erinnerungen an die Geschehnisse als sie ein Zombie war. Diese wurden entgegen dem ersten Band etwas öfter dargestellt, da sie für Cassandra ein Geheimnis bargen.
Doch auch diesmal sollte sich die Handlung nicht nur um eine Person drehen, sondern auch einen intensiveren Einblick in die zombifizierte Welt geben. Dabei handelte es sich diesmal um ein Dorf, in welchem Erwachse, aber auch viele Kinder, überlebt hatten. Allein dieser Aspekt machte den Band schon um einiges intensiver. Jedoch setzte man noch einen drauf, denn wirklich sicher war man auch hier nicht.
Der Band wechselte somit regelmäßig zwischen emotionalen und actiongeladenen Momenten, die zumindest mich packten und mitrissen. Doch nicht nur die Handlung schaffte dies. Auch optisch konnte der Band mit tollen Bildern punkten. Man setzte z.B. wieder auf einen gelb/orange Ton, wenn es um eine Erinnerung ging. Dies gefiel mir bereits im Vorgänger, da Realität und Vergangenheit so besser auseinander zu halten waren.
Fazit:
Egal ob Cassandras Erlebnisse in der Vergangenheit oder ihr jetziges Abenteuer in der Gruppe, beides konnte mich sowohl spannungstechnisch als auch emotional vollkommen mitreißen. Ich freue mich daher schon auf den Band mit Lila, denn in dieser Welt scheint es noch so einige Mysterien und Geheimnisse zu gaben....more

Im Vordergrund stand hier vor allem ihr Sexualleben, welches bis dahin stets durch die eingetrichterten Bemerkungen ihres Vaters gestört wurde. Und dann wäre da auch noch Za`atar, welchen sie im Bett nicht enttäuschen möchte.
Doch auch wenn sich der Band vorallem um Paprikas Sexleben drehte, bot er eben auch kleine Einblicke in das Wesen einiger Charaktere. Hier wäre insbesondere Paprikas Ex Burnet zu benennen, welcher mit seiner narzisstischen Art immer mehr Unsympathie-Punkte bei mir sammelte. Doch auch bei Dill tat sich einiges und das tatsächlich in beide Richtungen.
Ich persönlich liebe sowohl die Handlung als auch die Zeichnungen von Mirka Andolfo, besonders da Letzteres einfach so herrlich überspitzt ist, dass man unweigerlich in manchen Szenen Lächeln und Kichern muss. Mir gefällt einfach diese Mischung aus ernsten Themen und ein bisschen Humor.
Ein kleines Highlight war für mich auch wieder die Covergalerie am Ende, denn hier zeigte nicht nur Mirka Andolfo selbst noch ein paar Entwürfe, sondern auch andere Kreative, bei denen ich stellenweise wirklich den Hut ziehen musste, da die Bilder so gut waren.
Am Ende wäre noch zu sagen, dass man hier keinen immensen Tiefgang erwarten sollte. Wer aber eine leicht erotische Geschichte sucht, die unterhält und in eine interessante Welt mitnimmt, darf gerne mal einen Blick in die Bände von Sweet Paprika werfen....more

Gerade Holmes und Watson, aber auch Frankenstein dürften ja vielen etwas sagen, weswegen ich gespannt war, was alles in diesem Buch passieren würde.
Das Buch begann mit einer seiner hoffnungslosen Mary Jekyll, welche nun schauen musste, wie sie finanziell weiter über die Runden kommen würde. Ein Brief von ihrem Anwalt brachte dann die ganze Geschichte ins Rollen und sorgte dafür, dass es mit der Zeit immer mehr Charaktere in Marys Leben gab. Zumindest deren Namen erfährt man tatsächlich schon recht früh im Buch, da man immer wieder Gespräche zwischen den verschiedenen Frauen lesen kann. Fand ich dies anfangs noch etwas verwirrend, wurde es mit der Zeit zu einem unterhaltsamen Aspekt des Buches.
Bei den Charakteren hätten diese dann auch nicht unterschiedlicher sein können. Besonders Diana stach hier für mich heraus, denn sie war mit ihrer teils sehr undankbaren Art schon äußerst anstrengend. Die anderen Frauen fand ich dagegen absolut faszinierend, zumal ihre Hintergrundgeschichten es auch noch in sich hatten. Dazu fand ich es sehr spannend, wie diese Charaktere nun das Leben zusammen beschritten und dabei nicht nur Neues kennenlernten, sondern auch über sich hinauswuchsen. Das beste Beispiel dürfte hier wohl Mary sein, die vorher sehr behütet war und nach Etikette lebte, aber im Laufe der Geschichte dies immer mehr ablegte. Ein ebenfalls wichtiges Duo stellten Holmes und Watson dar, die man aus meiner Sicht wirklich gut getroffen hatte.
Etwas weniger gelungen waren für mich die Bösewichte in der Handlung, denn deren Bösartigkeit wurde immer in den Fokus gestellt, nur damit sie dann am Ende kompromissbereit abgeführt werden können. Gerade Hyde war für mich eine enorme Enttäuschung, denn hier hatte ich einfach soviel mehr erwartet.
Tatsächlich war dies für mich aber der einzige Kritikpunkt, denn ansonsten fand ich das Buch spannend und freue mich tatsächlich schon auf den Nachfolger. Da hier leider keine halben Sterne vergeben werden können, möchte ich sagen, dass ich dem Buch 4 1/2 Sterne gebe....more

Der Band verheimlicht aber der ersten Seite nicht, worum es geht. Ich persönlich fand dies gut, auch wenn es eben dem Ganzen ein wenig das Geheimnisvolle nahm. Spannend und vorallem emotional blieb es aber trotzdem, da die Handlung einen in Situationen warf, die gerade zu beklemmend waren.
Das beste Beispiel war hier der Hauptfigur Daigo selber, da diese eben nicht nur eine einfache Person war, sondern ein Polizist, der sich mit äußerst gewaltbereiten Dorfbewohnern auseinandersetzen musste. Ich persönlich schwankte hier stets zwischen Abscheu, Angst und Verzweiflung, da ich mir stets vorstellen musste, wie schwierig die Situation für mich gewesen wäre.
Dass ich so empfand, lag aber natürlich nicht nur an der Handlung selbst, sondern natürlich auch am Zeichenstil. Masaaki Ninomiya schaffte es genau wie Junji Ito, den Charakteren Züge zu geben, bei denen es einem kalt den Rücken herunterlief. Dies wurde noch erschreckender im Zusammenhang mit dem eigentlich echt schönen kleinen Dorf.
Fazit:
Für einen ersten Band offenbarte dieser ganz schön viel von der eigentlichen Handlung. Doch genau deswegen werde ich auch die Reihe weiterlesen, denn man weiß hier trotzdem nicht, in welche Richtung sich das Ganze entwickeln wird. Der Cliffhanger am Ende tat dazu auch sein Übriges. ...more

Neben der ausgefallenen Welt, dürften auch die Charaktere wieder faszinieren, da sie einfach herrlich kurios sind und dazu so einige Geheimnisse mit sich bringen. Eines davon sind Zaha´s Knochen, welche wohl Wünsche erfüllen können und derentwegen dementsprechend viele Zaha ans Leder wollen.
Wer sich jedoch erhofft hat in diesem Band bereits weitere Details zu Zaha zu bekommen, den muss ich leider enttäuschen, denn dieser Band dient eher als weitere Einführung in die Welt. Aber ganz ehrlich? Auch das ist mega spannend, denn man erlebt Dinge, die stets zwischen Unterhaltung und Wahnsinn wechseln. Ein Beispiel gefälligst? Wie wäre es mit Weltraum-Kaufhäusern, die bei Angriff oder beim zulange bleiben des Kunden einfach explodieren?
Dass es diesmal nicht groß um Zaha´s Knochen ging, dürfte auch daran liegen, dass man Hajime Damemaru kennenlernte, welcher das letzte Mitglied der abscheulichen Vier darstellt. Allgemein ging es darum, den Charakteren mehr Tiefe zu geben, weswegen man auch mehr über Shimada Death erfuhr. Dabei blieb sich die Mangaka treu und bot wie auch bei der Welt einen herrlichen Mix aus witzigen Sprüchen und teils sehr heftigen Handlungen. Doch da das Gesamtpaket stimmt, hatte ich auch hier wieder enorm viel Freude beim Lesen.
Dies dürfte aber auch am Zeichenstil liegen, welcher, wie schon bei Dorohedoro, einfach aus der Menge heraussticht und vor Einfallsreichtum gerade zu platzt. Deswegen freue ich auch auf die weiteren Bände der Reihe, denn egal, ob die Welt oder ihre Charaktere, ich will mehr davon....more

Doch ich wollte nun endlich wissen, was da im zentralen Kaufhaus vor sich ging, weswegen der Band, kaum das er da war, auch gleich gelesen wurde.
Ich denke zum Stil der Mangaka braucht man nicht mehr viel sagen, denn wer die Bände bis hierher gelesen hat, wird ihn genauso lieben wie ich. Dazu gab es wieder ein eindrucksvolles Cover. Ein kleines Highlight für mich war die beiliegende Karte, welche Dorohedoro mit Dai Dark vermischt.
Schließlich ging es in die Story und hier muss ich einfach sagen, dass ich mehr erwartet hatte. Zwar war die Idee und die Aufschlüsslung, was es mit dem Loch auf sich hatte, toll inszeniert, aber der Kampf gegen das Wesen, welches man bereits im Vorgänger erblicken durfte, wirkte enorm langgezogen und stellenweise etwas irritierend. Das war echt schade, besonders da außerhalb davon soviele interessante Sache geschahen. Hier bekam dann z.B. auch die letzten Fragen beantwortet und erfuhr so ganz nebenbei nochmal neue Dinge über einige Charaktere. Das Ende selbst fand ich ebenfalls gelungen, da es einfach mal vernünftig war.
Am Ende bleibt mir nur zu sagen, dass ich den Manga nicht nur in Ehren halten, sondern bestimmt auch noch ein paar Mal lesen werde. Doch erstmal möchte ich mich Dai Dark zu wenden, denn dieses verspricht genauso abgedreht zu sein wie Dorohedoro. Danke Q-Hayashida!

Doch wie hätte das auch anders sein können, immerhin war darauf ein Mann zu sehen, welcher einen gewaltigen Aufsatz auf seinen Geschlechtsteilen hatte. Die Kurzbeschreibung weckte dann aber vollends mein Interesse, da hier, stark zensiert, klargemacht wurde, dass dieser Aufsatz eine Rüstung war, die im Kampf um die Krone schützen soll. Zusammen mit dem Bild dieser einen Rüstung war klar, das muss ich einfach mal lesen.
Wie man in der Kurzbeschreibung lesen kann, spielt die Handlung auf 8 Inseln, auf denen jeweils ein Clan wohnt. Sie agieren selbstständig und erfüllen die Aufgabe, die sie am besten können. Die einen sind zum Beispiel gute Fischer und Taucher, die anderen widerum mit Heilkunde vertraut. Am Ende agieren sie aber als Gemeinschaft. Da es aber selbst in der besten Gemeinschaft mal zu Streitigkeiten kommt, braucht es jemanden der regiert und wichtige Entscheidungen trifft. Und genau dieser jemand wird alle 4 Jahre durch den sogenannten Kampf der Pythons ernannt. Tja und da sind wir wieder bei den Rüstungen, denn diese dienen vorallem für eines, nämlich das der Träger nicht kommt. Das ist nämlich das Ziel des Kampfes, denn wer kommt, verliert.
Somit kann man sich auch denken, dass in diesem Band homoerotische Inhalte enthalten sind. Zwar werden Dinge wie der Penis samt Hoden nur angedeutet, aber man kann noch recht gut erkennen, was es darstellen soll. Um so interessanter fand ich es, dass es z.B. sehr wenig um den Akt an sich ging. Man versuchte erogene Zonen des Gegners auszumachen oder eben dessen Rüstung zu entfernen. Jedes Volk ging da anders vor.
Im Großen und Ganzen stehen die 8 Kämpfer der einzelnen Clans im Vordergrund, die aufgrund ihrer Herkunft zwar stets etwas verschiedenen sind, aber trotzdem eines gemeinsam hatten, nämlich eine unschuldige Art. Zwar zeigten sie öffentlich gerne was sie hatten und legten besonders viel Wert auf die Präsentation des Po´s, aber wenn es um Partnerschaften und somit um Dinge wie den ersten Kuss oder gar den Liebesakt ging, waren viele unglaublich schüchtern. Ich fand das einfach nur toll, denn hier fühlte man mit.
Allgemein bin ich von der Story immer noch beeindruckt, denn gerade der Kampf der Pythons und dessen Darstellung schwankte stets zwischen herzzerreißender Liebesstory und hocherotischen Ejakulierungsszenen. Doch auch sonst fand ich sehr spannend, die Clans kennenzulernen und einen Teil ihrer Geschichte zu erfahren. Besonders die Geschichte zur Entstehung vom Kampf der Python fand ich echt gut, da man hier merkte, dass dies eine Gemeinschaft war, in der das Allgemeinwohl im Vordergrund stand. Insgesamt bekam man hier einen tollen Mix aus Spannung, Erotik und Emotionen. Doch ein auch bisschen Humor mischte sich mit unter.
Als Zusatz möchte ich noch erwähnen, dass es einen Clan gibt, welcher matriarchalisch, also durch Frauen, geleitet wird. Sie sind vorallem Jägerinnen und haben wie die männlichen Inselbewohner kein Problem damit, ihre Körper zu verstecken. Ich hoffe, dass man hier noch ein paar mehr Einblicke bekommt, denn ich finde diesen Aspekt sehr wichtig.
Fazit:
Der erste Band von „Dick Fight Isalnd“ war ein wahres Erlebnis. Ich hatte ein durch und durch schräges Abenteuer erwartet, doch das blieb aus. Dafür bekam ich eine eigentlich sehr weltoffene Handlung, die die Liebe zwischen Männern im Vordergrund hatte und so ganz nebenbei Erotik, Humor und Emotionen mitbrachte. Dafür geschah in diesem Band etwas, was es bisher noch nie gab, nämlich die ausschließliche Handlung an einem Ort. Und damit herzlich willkommen im zentralen Kaufhaus!
Ein Ort, dessen Geschichte und was nun in ihm geschah, die Reihe massiv verändern dürfte, da hier nun Dinge ans Tageslicht kamen, die wohl niemand erwartet hätte. Hier muss man der Mangaka Q-Hayashida wieder einmal Tribut zollen, denn sie schaffte es bis jetzt diesen Ort außen vorzulassen, in dem sie ihn nur in seiner Vergangenheitsform zeigte. Doch nun wurde es Zeit, denn die Geschichte findet bald ihr Ende und hat noch so einige Antworten zu liefern. Und was wäre da passender als dieser markante Ort.
Da ich bereits erwähnt habe, dass sich die Handlung diesmal ausschließlich im zentralen Kaufhaus abspielt, kann man sich auch denken, dass hier alle wichtigen Charaktere zusammenkommen würden. Was simpel und nach einer Konfrontation zwischen den verschiedenen Lagern klingt, war aber keine, denn mit dieser Zusammenkunft läutete man das Finale ein, welches sich vorallem eine Gruppe nicht entgehen lassen möchte, nämlich die Teufel.
Auch wenn die Handlung an einem Ort stattfand, sollte man nicht damit rechnen, dass die Handlung nun weniger chaotisch und verzwickt wäre. Eher das Gegenteil trifft zu, da trotzdem zwischen den Charakteren gewechselt wird. Doch dieses Chaos ist auch belohnend und beschert einem z.B. ungeahnte Einblicke in das Innere eines Teufels. Mein Highlight war aber Chidarumas Geschichte und die Entwicklung der Magier, denn hier zeigte sich wirklich wie mächtig er ist.
Neben den vielen Handlungen und Geschehnissen gehört jedoch noch erwähnt, dass dieser Band aus meiner Sicht, der mit dem höchsten Horror-Flair war. Dafür sorgten schon allein die Schläuche, welche sich von überall Opfer suchten, um sie dann zu willenlosen Puppen zu machen. Die Bilder davon hauten stellenweise wirklich rein. Ansonsten lieferte man wieder die gewohnt tolle Optik, sodass ich überrascht, geschockt, aber auch mega neugierig auf die Nachfolger, aus dem Band ging.
Fazit:
Dieser Band läutete nun das Finale der Reihe ein und hätte ehrlich gesagt nicht besser inszeniert sein können. Immerhin nahm man alles, was bisher da war, zentralisierte es und machte daraus einen wilden Trip aus Action, Horror und überraschenden Wendungen. Besonders den Horror-Aspekt möchte hiervor heben, denn dieser hatte es wirklich in sich. Doch auch sonst gab einen der Band wieder tolle Einblicke, die in dem ganzen Chaos, absolute WOW-Momente sind....more

Kein Wunder, denn Q-Hayashida erschuf einen schrägen Mix aus Horror, Fantasy und Dystopie, der sowohl inhaltlich als auch optisch vieles anders macht.
Wollte man am Anfang eigentlich nur wissen, wie Caiman zu seinem Echsenkopf kam, wurde man mit jedem Band mehr in diese geheimnisvolle Welt gezogen. Tja und inzwischen bin ich beim 8. Sammelband, welcher die Einzelbände 16 und 17 enthält. Mittlerweile sind einige Geheimnisse, wie Caimans Identität, geklärt, doch wie er einen Echsenkopf bekam, blieb bisher noch offen. Zumindest bis jetzt, denn dieser Band zeigt, wie es durch eine Reihe unglücklicher Ereignisse dazu kam.
Dabei bleibt es natürlich nicht, denn wer die Vorgänger gelesen hat, wird wissen, dass die Familie En aus der Zaubererwelt fliehen musste und nun ein regelrechter Krieg zwischen ihnen und den Kreuzaugen besteht. Im Vordergrund steht dabei die Wiederbelebung En´s und die Weiterentwicklung vom Kreuzaugen-Boss. Doch auch Nikaidos Teufelsverwandlung geht voran, was ich ehrlich gesagt sehr spannend finde, da diese keine typische Verwandlung ist. Hier traf die Aussage „Es bleibt chaotisch!“ am Ende aller Einzelbände wieder einmal voll und ganz zu. Deswegen rate ich mittlerweile die Bände in einem Stück zu lesen, da viele Zusammenhänge über mehrere Bände aufgebaut sind.
Trotzdem bin ich noch immer voll begeistert, denn nicht nur die Ideen mit all ihren überraschenden Wendungen hauen mich jedes Mal vom Hocker, sondern auch der Zeichenstil, welcher eben mal den Körper von Personen so zeigt, wie sie eben sein können, nämlich unterschiedlich. Besonders lobenswert finde ich dabei immer noch Nikaido und Noi, welche mit ihren kräftigen, aber muskulösen Körpern einfach mal was Neues sind. Wo ich aktuell jedoch nicht so ganz mitgehe, ist die Entblößung dieser weiblichen Charaktere, denn dies nahm jetzt immer mehr zu. An sich finde ich es nicht schlimm, aber mich stört es dann schon, dass oftmals nur die weiblichen Charaktere ihre Hüllen verlieren.
Fazit:
Dorohedoro ist Chaos pur, aber hat bisher nicht seinen roten Faden verloren. Zwar ist die Story mittlerweile deutlich komplexer und vielseitiger geworden, aber mich packt sie immer wieder aufs Neue. Jedoch merkt man langsam, dass bald Ende ist, denn mit dem 11. Band endet die Reihe. Ich denke aber, dass die letzten Bände alles andere als langweilig werden, denn so einige spannende Fragen sind immer noch offen....more

Viel Nebel, eine düstere Umgebung und dazu ein blasses Mädchen im weißen Kleid, dies schrie bereits nach Geheimnissen und mysteriösen Geschehnissen. Meine Ahnung sollte recht behalten, denn die Kurzbeschreibung offenbarte bereits dass man es hier mit so einigen düsteren Machenschaften zutun bekam.
Der Start in den Band war dann auch recht rasant und begann mit der Rettung Daniels, nachdem dieser mit seinem Pferdeschlitten durch die Wälder preschte. Man begleitete ihn nun durch Sheridan Manor und erfuhr was hier alles geschah und wieso es jetzt so aussieht, wie es aussieht. Wie in der Kurzbeschreibung beschrieben fand man schließlich auch die Nichte des Hausherrn und entfachte damit Daniels Wunsch, sie aus aus ihrer Katalepsie zu befreien. Doch so nach und nach wird aus dem friedlichen Zusammensein ein Problem, da immer mehr Geheimnisse ans Tagelicht kamen, die mich dann doch sehr überraschten.
Trotzdem muss ich sagen, dass es mir im Band ein wenig an Spannung fehlte. Dies dürfte vorallem daran gelegen haben, dass die Kurzbeschreibung samt dem Titel des Bandes einen Großteil der Handlung erzählten. Zwar gab es zwischendurch und besonders am Ende ein paar überraschende Ereignisse, aber bis dahin passierte tatsächlich nur das, was die Kurzbeschreibung erwähnte. Mit dem Titel verriet man dann auch noch gleich wohin die Reise geht. Das war schon sehr schade, denn ohne den Namen des Tors oder den Hinweis auf die Nichte, hätten mich diese Elemente mehr gepackt. Schlecht ist die Geschichte deswegen aber trotzdem nicht, denn wie gesagt, es gab auch Überraschungen.
Richtig begeistern konnte man mich dafür mit der Optik. Egal ob die Umgebungen oder die äußerst detailreichen Charaktere, ich erfreute mich an jeder Seite. Besonders der Spagat zwischen den hellen und freundlich wirkenden Zeichnungen bei Tag und den düsteren und unheimlichen bei Nacht war beeindruckend, da so auch das Herrenhaus immer wieder anders wirkte. Dies traf auch auf die Mimiken der Charaktere zu, welche jede Änderung des Gemütszustandes zeigten.
Fazit:
Dieser Band war optisch wirklich eine Wucht. Dies würde ich auch gerne von der Handlung sagen, aber da bereits so viele Informationen in der Kurzbeschreibung erwähnt wurden, konnte man mich hier erst am Ende richtig packen. Dafür bin ich jetzt um so neugierigerer wie es in Sheridan Manor weiter geht, denn natürlich erzählte man in diesem Band nicht gleich die ganze Handlung....more

Doch nicht nur mit diesem Merkmal sticht Harry Dresden hervor, denn er ist der einzig offen arbeitende Zauberer in ganz Chicago.
Schon bei der Kurzbeschreibung ließen sich für mich gewisse Ähnlichkeiten zur Reihe von Alex Verus erkennen. Und da ich diese sehr interessant finde, freute ich mich darauf, auch diese Welt kennenzulernen. Tatsächlich machte dies auch mächtig Spaß, denn Harry Dresden war ab der ersten Seite äußerst sympathisch. Zwar war er stellenweise etwas altmodisch denkend, aber gerade das machte auch ein wenig seinen Charme aus.
Dazu war es aber auch sehr unterhaltsam zu sehen, wie er in einer Welt voller Elektronik leben musste, welche sich mit seiner Magie überhaupt nicht vertrug. Spannend dabei war die Tatsache, dass der Autor dies nicht einfach so einbaute, sondern sogar erklärte, warum in Harrys Nähe Telefone nicht funktionierten oder Fahrstühle einfach feststeckten. Diese Art von Details schätze ich immer sehr, besonders wenn sie dann auch noch wie hier konsequent durchzogen werden.
Die Handlung selbst sagte mir ebenfalls sehr zu, da man hier viele Elemente miteinander verstrickte und zusammenführte. Wie auch schon bei der Magie, zeigte der Autor, dass er auch für seine Story so einige Ideen parat hatte. Dementsprechend überraschte mich besonders der hohe Gewaltgrad, der dazu auch noch sehr detailliert beschrieben wurde. Ich fand dies jetzt nicht schlimm, da es zu dieser düsteren Welt passte, aber ich hatte es eben nicht erwartet. Was ich ebenfalls nicht erwartetet hatte, war der hohe Grad an Sexualisierung. Dass man bei einer Person, die man mag, vielleicht einmal wilde Gedanken hat, kein Problem. Aber in unpassenden und total unlogischen Momenten zu erwähnen, wie toll die Lippen einer Person waren oder wie gut in Form und sexy jemand sei, obwohl diese Person gerade als zerstückelte Leiche vor einmal lag, wirkte irgendwie fehl am Platz.
Was mich am Band aber meisten störte, waren die Nebencharaktere. Besonders Lieutenant Karrin Murphy brachte mich regelmäßig zur Weißglut, da ihre Art einfach nur unsympathisch war. Sie forderte unentwegt Dinge von Harry, ohne auch nur selbst einen Finger krumm gemacht zu haben und wurde beleidigend, wenn Harry nicht sagte, wieso er hier nur wenig tun konnte. Wieso Harry diese Frau, samt ihrem Helfer, als Freunde ansah, blieb mir ein Rätsel, denn sie halfen ihm nicht einmal, sondern bezichtigten ihn der Lüge oder der Täuschung. Tatsächlich gab es im Buch keine Nebenperson, die Harry einfach so mochte. Jede Person wollte immer etwas von ihm und das nur um selber besser dazustehen. Dies führte bei mir dazu, dass ich zwischendurch tatsächlich abbrechen wollte. Ich hoffe sehr, dass dies im Nachfolger wird, denn ansonsten werde ich wohl Harry Dresden nicht weiter lesen können.

Tatsächlich hatte ich mir meinen ersten Band mit Harry Dresden anders vorgestellt. Zwar auf jeden Fall magisch, aber deutlich gewaltarmer und mit weniger unsympathischen Charakteren. Doch nicht nur das, denn neben einem emotionalen Showdown im Leben der Familie Holmes, gab es auch wieder einen mysteriösen Fall.
Diesmal ging es um das Verschwinden von Lady Blanchefleur del Campo, welche bei einem Ausflug mit ihren Zofen einer älteren Dame half, in dem sie, sie in die U-Bahnstation brachte. Um sie wiederzufinden, wurde jedoch nicht nur Enola eingeschaltet, sondern auch Sherlock. Doch nicht nur durch den Fall sollten sich ihre Wege kreuzen, denn Sherlock besaß einen Brief für Enola, der von niemand anderen war, als von ihrer Mutter.
Da ich bereits das Buch gelesen hatte, wusste ich natürlich, wo Lady Blanchefleur abgeblieben war und was in dem Brief stand. Trotzdem las ich den Band so gespannt, als ich würde ich alles noch nicht kennen. Dies war auch schon in den vorherigen Adoptionen der Fall, denn Serena Blasco schaffte es die Handlung toll zusammenzufassen und dann auch noch optisch wundervoll zu präsentieren. Dies zeigte sich z.B. perfekt an der verschwundenen Lady, denn Enola konnte ihren Brüdern zeigen, wie schadhaft die damalige Mode war. Dabei ging man so sensibel vor, dass auch jüngere Leser zwar den Ernst der Sache verstanden, aber eher das Gefühl haben dürften, etwas gelernt zu haben.
Und genau diese Mischung liebe ich so an den Bänden. Egal ob Rätsel, gesundheitsgefährdende Mode oder wichtige Aspekte der damaligen Zeit, man bekam hier ein tolles Gesamtpaket. Dieses wurde dann, wie bereits erwähnt, durch Serenas Blascos wunderschönen Artstyle abgerundet, der für diese Art von Jugend-Graphic Novel einfach nur perfekt ist. Ich war ab der ersten Seite gefesselt und erfreute mich, trotz meiner Buchkenntnisse über jedes einzelne Erlebnis in diesem Band.
Fazit:
Auch beim mittlerweile 6.Band von Enola Holmes schaffte es Serena Blasco wieder, die Handlung toll zu adaptieren und ihr mithilfe des Zeichenstils einen eigenen Stempel zu verpassen. Das aber wohl Schlimmste ist Franklins vollständige Entpowerung, denn die traf den Teenager enorm. Kein Wunder also, dass versucht wird, ihm seine Kräfte wiederzugeben.
Wer die Vorgänger gelesen hat, der dürfte wissen, dass es nun ein Portal gibt, durch welches man in andere Dimensionen reisen kann. Zwar haben mittlerweile die Fantastic Four die Kontrolle darüber, aber gerade wenn es um die Erforschung der Dimensionen geht, ist man sich noch nicht einig. Na ja zumindest fast, denn natürlich ist Reed Richards die Neugier in Person, weswegen man im ersten Abschnitt einen Ausflug in eine andere Dimension miterleben kann.
Danach ging es, wie der Titel schon schön beschrieb, vorallem um Dr. Doom, da dieser heiraten möchte. Doch was zu einem Tag der Freunde und des Friedens werden sollte, wurde leider genau das Gegenteil und das sogar auf wirklich heftigste Art und Weise. Jedoch muss ich sagen, dass ich hier zwischendurch schon sehr kichern musste, da das Ganze ein einziger Egotrip Doom´s war. War er für mich früher nur ein Widersacher der F4, wurde er hier regelrecht unsympathisch. Man fragte sich die ganze Zeit, ob dies alles wirklich nötig war. Naja, dafür bekam man spektakuläre Auseinandersetzungen zu sehen, welche z.B. auch Black Panther oder Namor mit einbezogen.
Nach diesem Erlebnis ging es jedoch etwas ruhiger weiter. Jedoch muss ich sagen, dass ich mit der Handlung von „Tod in vier Dimensionen“ so meine Probleme hatte. Ich verstand zwar das Ziel des Ganzen, wussten aber nichts mit den Charakteren anzufangen, welche in verschiedenen Dimensionen nach Teilen suchten. Dafür schafften dies die 2 anderen Geschichten, die noch folgten, von denen eine die Entstehung der Fantastic Four im Schnelldurchlauf präsentierte.
Optisch gab es überhaupt nichts zu meckern, denn trotz verschiedener Stile, passte jede zu seiner Handlung.

Um so überraschter war ich beim Lesen der Kurzbeschreibung, dass es kein neues Abenteuer für die Monsterjägerin geben würde. Stattdessen bekam man einen Einblick in ihre Vergangenheit und somit auch ihre Einführung in den St. Georgs-Orden. Dies war natürlich überraschend. Jedoch war auch meine Neugier geweckt, denn über den Orden selbst oder wie Octo entstand, wurde ja bisher nur wenig verraten.
Das änderte man nun und überraschte zumindest mich enorm damit. Besonders der Orden und seine Aufteilung mit den verschiedenfarbigen Masken war sehr spannend, da man nun erfuhr welche wofür stand. Auch die Entstehung des Orderns und wie psychisch anstrengend der Kampf gegen die Monster war, wurde gezeigt. Dafür gab es leider kaum Monster zu sehen, denn im Mittelpunkt von allem stand die kleine Erica, welche ein Monster erlegte und nun in den Orden aufgenommen werden sollte.
Natürlich nicht einfach so, denn trotz erfolgreichen Kampf musste sie erst beweisen, dass sie alldem gewachsen ist. Jedoch muss ich sagen, dass mich gerade diese Prüfung irgendwie enttäuschte. Zwar war die Idee dahinter echt cool, aber ich hatte hier einfach ein wenig mehr erwartet. Ansonsten konnte mich die Handlung und natürlich auch die Charaktere komplett überzeugen, da man emotional absolut gefangen wurde.
Wie auch bei den Vorgängern durfte auch hier Werther Dell’edera die Bilder liefern. Jemand anderes könnte ich mir auch garnicht mehr vorstellen, da er mit Erica eine Person erschuf, die einfach im Kopf blieb. Dies schaffte er auch mit ihrer jüngeren Version und gab dazu, der allgemein sehr emotionalen Story, tolles Bildmaterial.
Fazit:
Wer nicht die Kurzbeschreibung gelesen hat, dürfte ziemlich überrascht sein, dass dieser Band nicht in ein neues Abenteuer von Erica führt, sondern ihre Vergangenheit näher beleuchtet. Zwar wurden in den Vorgängern immer wieder Anspielungen dazu gemacht, aber nun durfte man erleben, wie Erica zum St. Georg-Orden kam. Nachdem ich mich der erste Band mit seiner absolut genialen Handlung über eine Gruppe forschender Studenten und ihrem Dekan gefesselt hatte, war ich nNachdem ich mich der erste Band mit seiner absolut genialen Handlung über eine Gruppe forschender Studenten und ihrem Dekan gefesselt hatte, war ich natürlich gespannt, wie die Geschichte, nachdem Weltraumphänomen, das sie in die Zukunft katapultierte, weitergehen würde.
Da sie sich nun auf unbekannten Terrain bewegten und erst einmal herausfinden mussten, wo und wann sie nun genau waren, fand ich es um so passender, dass man dies dafür nutzte, um auf die Persönlichkeiten und Beziehungen der bekannten Charaktere näher einzugehen. Besonders interessant fand ich dabei Pearl, deutlich mehr Möglichkeiten bekam, seine Fähigkeiten einzusetzen. Den Rest der Gruppe nahm tatsächlich eher am Rande wahr, da die vielen Diskussionen und Streitereien teils echt unnötig waren. Ich verbuche dies Mal unter Stress. Was ich aber wieder wahrnahm und sehr gelungen fand, war die wundervolle Einbindung von verschiedenen Nationen. Doch nicht nur das, denn auch die Themen wie Sexualität fanden ihren Weg in die Story.
Die Geschichte führte diesmal auf einen Planeten, der mich ehrlich gesagt völlig in seinen Bann zog. Was dort geschah, war beängstigend und faszinierend zugleich. Jedoch fand ich keinen Weg zu der Person, durch welche unsere Gruppe den Weg dahin überhaupt fanden. Ich las den Band dreimal, aber muss hier ganz einfach gestehen, dass mich die Sache einfach verwirrte. Schade.
Dafür genoss ich aber wieder die Zeichnungen von Ingo Römling, der besonders dem neuen Planeten ein atemberaubendes Aussehen gab. Egal ob die Gesichtszüge oder großflächige Landschaften, ich wurde jedes Mal wieder überrascht und erfreute mich an jeder Seite.
Fazit:
Dieser Band zeigte deutlich, wie eine Achterbahnfahrt der Gefühle im Weltall auszusehen hat. Zwar war es für mich hin und wieder zu viel, aber da man mir eine spannende Handlung bot und die Möglichkeit gab, die Charaktere des Raumschiffs besser kennenzulernen, war dies schnell vergessen. Und da man auch optisch wieder einiges geboten bekam, war ich am Ende trotz kleiner Verständigungsprobleme, wirklich zufrieden mit dieser Fortsetzung....more
Hatte man es am Anfang der Reihe nur mit der Frage zutun, wer Caiman eigentlich ist und warum ein Mann in seinem Maul steckt, gibt es mittlerweile nicHatte man es am Anfang der Reihe nur mit der Frage zutun, wer Caiman eigentlich ist und warum ein Mann in seinem Maul steckt, gibt es mittlerweile nicht nur, noch mehr Fragen, sondern auch immer wieder Geschehnisse, welche die Welt in die Dorohedoro ordentlich auf den Kopf stellen.
Eines dieser Ereignisse war En´s Ermordung, durch welche die Kreuzaugen das Ruder übernahmen. Im Vordergrund steht dabei vorallem ihr Anführer, da dieser schon in den Vorgängern bewies, dass er so einiges tun würde um ein möglichst mächtiger Hexer zu werden. Diese Handlung wurde nun weiter geführt und überraschte dabei nicht nur mit interessanten Verwandlungen, sondern auch mit teils wirklich brutalen und horrormäßigen Bildern. Hier hatte ich stellenweise das Gefühl in einen Band von Junji Ito geraten zu sein, da einiges sogar den Charakteren selbst, Angst machte. Natürlich waren nicht nur die Kreuzaugen ein Thema des Bandes. Hinzu kam z.B. Nikaido, welche nun endlich ihre Magie testen möchte und En´s Gefolgsleute, die Zuflucht in einem geheimen Versteck fanden.
Das dazu noch etwas Besonderes passieren würde, zeigte ein Timer, welcher angab, in wie viel Tagen es bis dahin noch waren. Was hier geschah, verrate ich nicht, aber ich kann versichern, dass es äußerst ungewöhnlich ist, zumal die Teufel es erwartet haben. Ja, hier kann man nur kryptische Beschreibungen abgeben, denn im Band wurde nicht erklärt, was es damit auf sich hatte. Man kann sich daher denken, wie neugierig ich auf die Folgebände bin.
Optisch gab es keine wirklichen Veränderungen, was auch sehr gut ist. Ich mag den Stil der Mangaka und schätze es immer noch sehr, dass sie Klischee´s Klischee´s bleiben ließ und Figuren eben alle Arten von Charakter oder Körperform gab. Dazu sind ihre Ideen einfach immer wieder für eine Überraschung gut und da es nur noch 4 Bände bis zum Ende der Reihe sind, erwarte ich hier noch einiges.

Auch wenn dies wohl der Band mit den schockierendsten Bildern bisher war, schaffte es Q-Hayashida trotzdem wieder, mich ab der ersten Seite an die Handlung zu fesseln. Da die Handlung rund um Nikaido und Caiman mittlerweile etwas komplexer geworden ist, habe ich mir vor dem Lesen dieses Bandes nochmal alle Vorgänger geschnappt. Aus meiner Sicht eine gute Entscheidung, denn so konnte ich mich auf die Details konzentrieren, welche ich beim ersten Durchlauf verpasst habe. Aufgefrischt und voll mit Dorohedoro-Wissen ging es schließlich in diesen Band, der eigentlich wie seine Vorgänger einfach nur episch ist.
Was anderes wäre aber auch nicht möglich gewesen, nachdem man Band 5 mit einem absolut heftigen Cliffhanger geendet hatte. Mit diesen ging es natürlich auch weiter, denn er sorgte dafür, dass sich die Hierarchien in der Magierwelt vollkommen verdrehten. Somit standen nun die Kreuzaugen im Vordergrund, die neben guten Verteidigungsmöglichkeiten, auch einen Boss zu bieten hatten, der tatsächlich leicht angsteinflößend war. Allgemein erfuhr man hier sehr viel über sie, was ehrlich gesagt nicht schlecht war.
Doch natürlich drehte sich nicht alles um sie. Auch an Nikaidos Seite gab es so einiges zu entdecken, denn neben Einblicken in ihre Vergangenheit, bekam man nun auch einen Blick auf ihre Magie. Ebenfalls nicht zu vergessen wären natürlich En´s Leute, bei denen wir nun jemanden neues kennenlernen durften, obwohl er wahrscheinlich schon viel länger da war. Und auch hier ist noch nicht Schluss. Angst vor der totalen Verwirrung muss man aber nicht haben, denn da irgendwie alles miteinander verwoben ist, hat man trotzdem einen recht zentralen Pfad.
Wer die Bände davor gelesen hat, der dürfte hier keinen optischen Überraschungen erleben. Doch das ist nicht schlimm, da ich vom Stil nicht genug bekommen kann. Da störte es mich auch nicht, dass Charaktere wie Noi oder Nikaido auch mal etwas freizügiger gezeigt wurden, als nötig gewesen wäre. Warum auch, denn sie sind immer noch stark und beeindruckende Persönlichkeiten. Trotzdem bin ich sehr gespannt, wie es weiter geht, denn dieser Band zeigte auch, dass es noch einige Geheimnisse zu lösen gibt.
Fazit:
Wie auch schon bei den Vorgängern schaffte man es mich zu fesseln, zu begeistern und emotional in diese Welt zu ziehen. Auch an überraschenden Wendungen und Ereignissen fehlte es nicht, sodass ich ganz klar sagen kann, dass ich der Reihe weiterhin treu bleibe....more

Ich kannte dieses durch Film und Buch zwar schon, war aber gespannt, wie man es im Manga umsetzen würde.
Dafür ging es genau da weiter, wo der Vorgänger geendet hatte, sodass wir wieder mit dem jungen Fotografen und dem Priester die Marsianer beobachteten. Diese hatten genau vor dem zerstörten Haus, in welchem die beiden Männer waren, eine Art Lager errichtet. Was dort jedoch geschah, war nicht nur für mich heftig anzusehen, sondern auch für den Priester, welcher kurzerhand verrückt wurde. Ein trauriges Schicksal, das ihm aber auch im Buch traf. Allgemein hielt sich dieser Band sehr an das Original, so das Kenner hier auf jeden Fall ihre Freude haben werden. Nur ein paar Aspekte wie das verrückt werden des Priesters wurden es intensiver präsentiert, genau wie der Kampf vor dem Ende der Marsianer.
Man erhielt aber die Essenz der eigentlichen Handlung und schaffte es zudem die Gefühle der einzelnen Charaktere sehr gut wiederzugeben. Besonders schön fand ich dabei, dass man wieder auf Manga-typische Gesichter verzichtete. Dadurch bekam das Ganze nämlich die Dramatik, die es brauchte, da z.B. diesmal auch Leichen zu sehen zu waren und Charaktere auf unterschiedlichste Weise ihrer Verzweiflung Luft gaben.
Diese war auch voll verständlich, denn die Konstruktionen der Marsianer waren wirklich beeindruckend. Bisher waren meine Favoriten die Versionen aus dem 2005er-Film, doch diese nahmen ihnen den Rang weg. Das lag einfach daran, dass die Maschinen der Marsianer hier eben wirklich wie Maschinen von einem anderen Planeten aussahen. Sie wirkten nicht wie etwas, dass auf der Erde geschaffen sein konnte. Zudem waren sie dem Körper der Marsianer angepasst.
Was mich dann aber endgültig zum Fan dieser Reihe machte war das Ende, denn hier war nicht mit dem Fall der Marsianer Schluss. Neben kleinen Einblicken in den Neuaufbau, ging an etwas ausführlicher darauf ein, warum die Marsianer eigentlich keine Chance hatten. Das mochte ich wirklich sehr, da gerade dies wirklich oft zu kurz kam.
Fazit:
Auf diese Art und Weise den Krieg der Welten noch einmal erleben zu dürfen, war auf jeden Fall spektakulär. Dabei blieb man zwar nicht immer beim Original, aber erschuf sinnvolle Ergänzungen, die der Handlung noch mehr Tiefe gaben. Dies schaffte man auch bei der Optik, denn besonders das Design der Marsianer und ihrer Maschinen hat es mir wirklich angetan. Ich kann die Reihe daher Fans der Geschichte sehr ans Herz legen....more
