I loved the relationship that she has with her siblings. Mud and Esther played a major role in this book. In pervious books Nell's siblings made appearances but in this they ending up adding a layer to Nell's character. Even Sam, Nell's brother, added to her character.
Occam, Occam, Occam now that is a man. He is alpha when he needs to be but also supportive when he should. There times in this book where he did not know when to turn on or off his love of his life brain. I am glad that Faith explored more about their relationship and did not gloss over it.
Ayatas Firewind is someone that I did not like in the Jane Yellowrock series. He seemed pretentious as well as someone who believes he is superior to everyone. There were times in this book that he should that side of him but we got to see why he is the way that he is. I do not know what it is about characters that I dislike in the Jane Yellowrock series but I can tolerate them in this. I think Faith is humanizing them in order to make us like them. But whatever she is doing she is doing a great job.
I did enjoy the mystery in this book as well as Esther realizing that she does not need the church or a man in order to be happy. I am looking forward to seeing where Faith takes this series. ...more

Harper is part of a wonderful family called the Wilsons. This family sticks to gather through thick and thin and is very open and inviting in others when it comes to people who need help.
Greyson has had a difficult life since all of his family died in a car crash. He is pregnant and being verbally and physically abused. He does not believe that he is worthy of finding an alpha who well loved him and his baby. Since his family past he has been told repeatedly that since he is an omega that he doesn't deserve to be happy. Harper on the other hand does not believe that and a wants to be with Grayson no matter what.
This story moves pretty fast but the good thing about their love affair is that they've had a long time to get to know each other before they fall madly in love with one another. There was a lot of crazy people in this story and attempted murder happened multiple times. It was a very invigorating for a book that gives you the impression that it is just going to be lovey dovey all over the place. I am loving this series and I cannot wait to move on to the next.

The only time there wasn't any sort of miscommunication or lack of communication is when Inesia would talk to Ariana and her brother, Dasir. When it came time for Ariana and Dasir to speak to one another it just seems as though they were trying to have a conversation but without most of the conversation. This is the first time that I've ever read a book from Jamie Schlosser. I have to admit that this writing style I really enjoyed. I love it when an author does a dual POV within a book. There were times where I thought I would be annoyed by the main characters but it was quickly extinguished.
I loved Ezra and his undying love and devotion to Kayla. The way that they loved each other without reservation was magical and sweet. This is the kind of love that does not judge and always acceps the person as who they are no matter what. Kayla loved Ezra from the beginning even with all his 'flaws' made me fall in love with her not only as a character but as a person who understand there is more to life than just superficial things.
Throughout this book there was not a lot of angst and a lot of crazy drama which is always a plus especially when you're dealing with Young Adult Romances. When there was a bit of drama it was realistic and not completely over-the-top. I loved all the characters within this book and I really hope that Gavin gets his happy ending and I really want to revisit Kayla and Ezra in about 5 to 10 years....more

I have been hesitant to start the series because Susan stated that this book takes place on Earth. I love all her sci-fi books and since this book only has magic and is based on Earth I don't know what to think. I enjoy a good Sci-Fi romance book and the fact that this book is strictly based on Earth made me a bit weary. But of course I did not need to be worried because she killed this book as she does all her others.
Frost is a space Bounty Hunter and he is tasked to bring a serial killer to justice, by death. I love the reaction that Lacey had when she first met Frost. She was not scared or freaked out about him she was just confused on why this person was in her house in the first place. The only issue, will not really an issue, that I had with this story is I have no idea what Frost looks like. The alien that Frost was hunting we get a very detailed description about him but when it comes to Frost we have no idea what he looks like.
This book had a lot of action and I'm in love with all of the new characters that we were introduced to. I am very interested in Lacey and her sisters and also and Frost's brother. There is just so many wonderful elements to this story and I wish that it was a bit longer just so we got more detail about the relationship between Lacey and Frost.
I am very excited to see how everybody's life turns out and also one of the humans that we meet in this book I want to know if he is going to be brought back in some other capacity or another. Also this book mentions the Goddess and I'm pretty sure I know who that is if the series stays true to all her other series....more

Mel is a widow who is trying to start over by running from her problems. I good chuck of the beginning of the book was Mel telling everyone that she is not staying and she is going to leave soon. I understand that the dream she had of Virgin River was not she got in reality. I get it you want to go however stating you are leaving all the time was annoying. I liked Mel but not everyone heroine is perfect.
Jack is a war vet. I have a thing for a damaged/tortured hero so I was already invested in him before him and Mel got together. He is sweet and is understand to a fault. When he found Mel crying and apologizing to her dead husband. He came to the conclusion that he is okay with just being a warm body for Mel and I almost lost my shit. He knew it was going to be an uphill climb but for him to think so little of himself just drove me nuts. I am glad Mel explained to Jack what that scene really was. I would have been completely upset if she allowed him to think so little of himself.
This book is setting up multiple books to happen. There were a lot of people and a lot of different points of views. This is one thing that I really wanted resolved but it never happened. I am hoping in the next book it finally does. I cannot wait to get more in-depth with the residents and the newcomers to Virgin River. ...more

The fact that most of the book had to deal with the town judging who is Eli's baby daddy and what is going on with his brother was a bit annoying. I understand that people are curious but the fact the book put so much emphasis on that got old very quickly.
When Matt found out Eli's son was his his reaction was great. I am glad that they got their second chance. Matt really cared for Eli in this book which made me happy. There are time an author will give a couple a second chance but the main characters do not seem to have chemistry. With these two you could tell they had it and then some.
I will continue to read this series because I am curious about what Griff has been doing. ...more

I enjoyed Jane, yes she was a bit jaded and held everybody at an arm's distance but with her past and what has occurred to her I can totally understand where she is coming from. Aiden was what every woman wanted when it comes in a partner. He was always searching for a deeper connection when it comes to Jane.
This book was a pleasant surprise. I loved Alexa and Jane's relationship. They would do anything for one another and throughout this book you can tell that they love one another and nothing and anyone will not come in between them.
When the revelation about what happened to Jane actually occurred all I wanted to do was cry not only for Jane but for Aiden. Jane has always been the strong one but during that scene you can see how much everything ended up affecting her. Throughout the entire book it was implied that Jane was abused but the fact that it was spoken out loud it's just seemed like a blow to your gut.

There were times where I wanted Nell to get it together and not freak out at blood and gore and then I remembered she not Jane Yellowrock, but Nell Ingram. It is hard sometimes not to compare two strong main female characters that are written by the same author. There are a lot of similarities between the two put there are a lot of things that make them unique.
This book opened and closed with Occam. I have to admit that man is so swoon worthy. He is very alpha but not domineering like most alpha males tend to be. He understands what Nell needs without being to overpowering which is always a plus.
This story dove into the tats that were forced on Rick. If you read the Yellowrock series you know what happened to Rick and why he is having issues with his cat. There were a lot of revelations that I was not expecting and totally forgot about that came up. This book had me second guessing my hypotheses throughout this book.
I am so glad that we got to see and know more about Mud. She is a handful and I am glad that she will be sticking around.
Also the quick mention about Nell's sister growing leaves was interesting. Now how is that going to play out in upcoming books has me curious. ...more

He did not expect to find love in a bar but that is exactly what happened. Alec is a single dad who does not know when to quit working and enjoy life. The two of them are a perfect contrast to one another.
I loved their story and I am glad that Alec realized that it is okay to love again and it is okay to be happy. I think one thing that tends to occur with widows/widowers is they forget it is okay to be happy and in this book that is what we get. There were times where I just wanted Alec to stop being in his own way and just accept Kade and what he has to offer but I guess it is better late then never.
I loved all of the side characters within this story. Kenzie and all of the kids in this story were great. I loved the fact she played a role in not only the book but in the relationship between Alec and Kade. The fact Alec realized how much Kade and Kenize bonded made it that much easier for him to know Kade is the right one for him.

Redson we briefly met way back in the beginning of this series. However we did not know anything really about his aside from his family background. Malachi is one of the few vampires in which the VampLycans can agree on. He is not like other vamps. He is honorable and that helps Emma stay safe while he is trying to protect her. The dynamic between Malachi and Emma is cute. They have such a strong bond and connection that I wanted to see more of it. I want to get to know more about Malachi. I have a feeling he is not only going to be important but he might play a bigger rule in this series.
I loved Emma and Redson relationship. There was an attraction between the two but it was not instant love like other books. They grew to trust one another and then they started to realize there was something more then just sex. Which I am happy about. There are so many times when a writer will based an either plot on sex and assumes the reader is going to be okay with that. Laurann does not do that and I am glad about that. Yes there is sex, hot sex, but sex nonetheless but there is also a really good plot happening in the background.
There was death and crazy individuals who want what they cannot have and also this books lets me know there are characters that I am invested in that I want to know more about. Let's just jump right into this review. For the past three books we have been anticipating the demise of the Witch Hunter. We all know that he's evil and we all know that he is up to no good however we have not really found out why he is doing what he does. Well we have in this book but before this book we didn't have any idea why he was doing any of the things he was. In this book things start to heat up tremendously.
Terec is someone that we met way back in First Contact. He did not have a major role then but we kind of figured that he would have a book eventually. The only thing is I didn't realize that he was going to play a major part in the demise of the Witch Hunter. But before we get into that let me backtrack just a tad bit.
The Witch Hunter decides to change up his MO just a bit. Up until this point he has been getting rid of people with psychic abilities. We still don't know why he's getting rid of people with psychic abilities but this isn't his first rodeo with committing genocide. We do get an explanation of who or rather what he is but we still don't understand what makes him tick.
Now let us get back to Terec and his romance with Adele. We all knew that him and Adele were mates and we knew that they were going to end up being together. Difference was that it would be a long road thanks to Adele's mother, Cara. That woman has irked me from the very first time I met her back in book one. She gives me this holier-than-thou vibe that I cannot deal with. I do understand that she is a single mother and her job is to protect her children but there is a difference between protecting and stiflingly and she stifles her children verses protecting them.
The romance between Adele and Terec was very sweet. One of the issues that I do have with Adele and it seems like all the other young girls within this is that they put themselves in situations to be harmed or get hurt. I cannot stand when a character is doing dumb stuff and it is blamed on youth tendencies. When I was a certain age I did not do certain things because I knew there would be consequences but yet these young girls don't realize that there are consequences and something bad might occur especially with the animosity between the new settlers and the Tantalrians.
There were a lot of twists and turns with in this book and I am all for that. People who I thought were gone forever are not so gone. The Witch Hunter is actually something that or someone that I never ever expected. The Tribunal has a ton of secrets that nobody knew about. I now know where they we're living when they decided to go away for centuries and it isn't what you think it is. I am looking forward to continuing the series and I cannot wait to see what happens....more

I understand that she is the love of his life but being put down time after time is not something that anyone should forgive. Emotional abuse is not something that I condone more should it be excused as Seraphina keeps trying to do.

He has a wonderful sense of humor and he is always joyful and happy however in this book we didn't get a lot of his personality that we seen in previous books. I don't know if it's because he is in love but he wasn't himself in this book. The fact that there was a major emphasis on Etienne, Lisette, and Richart being so close in previous books but yet the siblings really didn't interact with one another.
Krysta is a vampire hunter who is also mortal. When Etienne and Krysta meet he is saving her, or he thinks he is saving her, from vampires. Their meeting was a bit funny and I was excited for this book however it just fell flat for me. Krysta just seemed to only care about her vendetta against vampires and not realize that she is unable to do everything herself.
I understand her intentions were good but she invertedly ended up harming more people that cared about her rather than herself. I am 100% on board for a kick-ass female heroine but when that heroine decides to focus on one thing and does not seem to accept that they're not invincible it kind of annoys me. She did come to the conclusion that maybe she needs to be transformed into an Immortal but it wasn't because of love or because she was dying but because of her vendetta.
When a character is so consumed by a vendetta it never ends well. She did come to the conclusion that she needs to let go of some of the pain and anger. But not before Seth lets her know that she again is a liability.
There is a traitor among the ranks of the Immortals and is one of the big issues that occur within this book. That is why I feel like this book is filler. There are some good setups for the next books however I do not believe Etienne and Krysta are going to play a big role within the series. So far the characters that have books in the series play major roles within each of the upcoming books. In some series, I have noticed there is always one book which has a couple who kind of will play a role later down the line but they tend to fade in the background and I feel as though Etienne and Krysta are that couple....more
