I wish there is more resolution in the end. This one was super cute and funny and reminds me all that I love about Meg Cabot. Victoria was just getting into society after growing up in India with her uncles. She was sassy, snarky and unladylike. It was funny seeing her banter with Jacob and Jacob is really charming as well.
I about to laugh my ass off when Malfey and his mum plan to trap her inside their house and force her to marry Malfey. Victoria manage to escape being almost naked. Its funny that the one end up saving her is the pickpocket she left escape

I am intrigued by the Lizzie Borden mystery but this one is trash. We started off with the murder and later we went through the POVs of all the suspects. Everyone seems like an suspect, everyone have a reason to want the Borden's parents dead. Its ok , that part was somewhat entertaining to read . But as you go on , u still won't know did Lizzie actually killed her parents. The book ended the same way the case does. If you gonna give us a conclusion or revelation then at least end the book early. Why do you have to show flashback after flashback that does nothing to the plot?? Its dumb.
This book didn't put much new spin into the story. Only some imagination on their back story and motives and added useless character like Benjamin...more

Of Mice and Men is ok ish. I don't see how its considered its classics because well it was just meh. I quite enjoy the banter between Lennie and George. I was halfway through it and come check up on some of the reviews, talking about how the ending break em and how sad it is. By then I expected then Lennie will die. It wasn't shocking or anything .

The beginning was a bit of a drag and I almost want to dnf it. Griet went to become a maid at Vermeer's house bla bla bla. A lot of maid talk.
But then it started to grow on me and I started become interested in Vermeer's life and his paintings but so little was known of him and the story behind his paintings. I like Vermeer's character . I like how mysterious and quiet he is and I wanted him and Griet to be together so badly

The BR experience turns out to be a blast and I would be gladly more with her in the future.
The book is long but it was really entertaining. There wasn't a dull moment in it. The drama comes in waves and waves. But as I progress, I started to feel kinda bored with the story? The villains are the same . The good guys would get the upper hand for a while and then the villains would start scheming again and then the good guys will outmanuver the villians again. And it goes like that throughout the whole book .
This book could have benefit a lot from some mystery . Instead of the villains and the good guys being so clear cut and black and white. The drama is fun for a while but it gets old. Not sure if I would read the sequels. ...more

Damn I love and hate that tragic ending at the same time. I get frustrated that Evelyn was always using marriage to achieve her goal again and again but give her circumstances at the time I guess she thinks she got no choice but to get marry to divert attention. I usually don't like to read FF because well LGBT romance is usually not my thing. But I find my heart breaking when Evelyn and Celia broke up twice. I am also mad at Celia because god can't she face reality. She is dating an actress and she is a freaking actress herself. Evelyn acts and thats her job. But Celia just love to throw a big tantrum over it.

Its about real life historical figure Sandro Botticelli using Simonetta Vespucci as his model. Very little facts could be known about the relationship Sandro and Simonetta of course. Are they lovers??? Does Simonetta really model nude for Sandro??
Frankly I don't know what I am getting myself into. Of course we already know what happened as its based on a real historical event. Can a book still surprise you when u already know how it gonna end? Most probably not
But Alyssa Palombo did it. She manage to breath life into Simonetta Vespucci. She wasn't just another little known historical figure. I see her as a real woman. All seems well when she married Marco Vespucci and being thrust into the upper social circle of Florence. What could go wrong? She is the most beautiful women in Florence and Botticelli is gonna paint her. Marco seems to love her very much and has no objection to Simonetta posing for Botticelli.
As the saying goes, "a beautiful flower won't blossom forever", Simonetta's picture perfect life starts to show its cracks. She was force to question her beliefs, her role in society, her role as a wife to Marco and paved her own way. Alyssa Palombo's writing is exquisite and she capture the growth, loss, grief and angst of Simonetta Vespucci flawlessly. ...more

I am kinda a mess right now. On one hand this book is so long and drawn out hence the story wasn't as impactful. But if u think about it , think about their love and pair with the right sad music, it god damn hurts.
Tatiana and Alexander's love is the kind of love where they are both so messed up (Tatiana in particular), so much angst yet they are so perfect for each other. They screamed, they yelled , they fought, they threatened each other . Their love is so fucked up and its love like this that really gets under your skin.
The war being the backdrop of the story and tragic ending of Tatiana's family made this story even more heartbreaking. Tatiana went from this young naive innocent girl to this girl who love fiercely and never give up on anything she set her mind to in the span of 2 years.
Paullina Simons did a great job on this. The writing is simple yet beautiful and the build up of those insignificant moments between Tatiana and Alexander make it more memorable.....more
