I just didn’t really care that much about the romance, the story wasn’t too captivating to me even tho I did like the concept. lastly I just have to say the title mention in the end is sooo cheesy and exactly as expected but I kinda like that too. ALSO why do I always have to relate to the sad parts of books with family trauma and not the cute romance stuff? rude :( I loved/hated reading about that part when Miles told her about his sister and how she was treated by their parents
Love Emily Henry but this one wasn’t my fav by her but it was good. 3.5/5...more

Dylan wants to win a Mid-autumn festival mooncake making competition and Theo wants to help him with that and in return he asks Dylan to fake date him and appear as Theo´s plus one at a wedding or else Theo´s family will set him up on blind dates for the rest of the year.
There’s so many things I love about this book - fake dating, supportive family members, complicated family relationships, only one bed, lgbtq+ rep, Chinese culture, charming cute and fun characters, food that will make you hungry AND A CORGI!! It was the perfect light and wholesome read with the perfect amount of depth, I loved it!! I also feel like a learned a lot while reading this about Chinese culture, for example I didn’t know that you shouldn’t gift someone a clock...more

Love Indy and how she’s such a hopeless romantic and a reader! Love her. She was so charming, emotional, soft, smart. Ryan is the perfect book boyfriend without even needing the lessons he got from Indy. My secret softie <3 they’re so perfect together and for each other ugh I just love them. the way they understand each other is so beautiful. Their communication is 10/10, they talk about everything and also have great banter. I fear I might never recover.

Clara starts a new job and somehow makes her boss think that she is gay when she’s actually not so what does she do? She talks about it with her childhood best friend Evan and they decide to fake date<3
This was just such a happy, sweet, and fluffy read about two women finding love in the holiday season. The two main characters in this are so beautiful inside and out (yes its a book I know I cant see them but I feel like I can, okay?), I truly care and feel for them so much. Their chemistry was 10/10. I loved their communication and the understanding between the characters and just seeing how much they’re always there for each other because they truly see each other for who they are. Sure there wasn’t a lot of christmas feels to it but that’s okay!Big bonus for the fact that there’s a cat named Bagel, that’s so cute! And I love Clara’s family in here, they were so sweet!
I read it on KU but I definitely need to own a physical copy when they are available on amazon (I couldn’t find it on there right now but hopefully soon)...more

Two people in the group are getting married at the end of the week, two are in a committed relationship and two are fake dating during the trip for their friends because they dont know the two actually broke up months ago
As you can imagine I absolutely loved this book (if you know me) - I mean it has all my favorite things. Fake dating, second chance, found family and lgbt rep. I didn’t know it had lgbt rep before starting it but if I did I would have just been more excited to start it! We follow Wyn and Harriett dealing with what happened to their relationship and there is a lot of depth to this which I won’t go into detail about because I dont want to spoil anything but I loved getting to know these characters and their struggles.
This book has been heavily marketed as found family and there were times when I questioned if it really was found family and how close the friends really were because they are keeping things from each other but then I realized it makes sense. Friends and family sometimes have secrets and the whole drama in here just felt very realistic which I love, sometimes in books it can feel like too much but not here
It talks a lot about childhood trauma and the impact our family dynamics and upbringing has on us in our adult lifes which I loved reading about.

As we know from reading the addicted/calloway and previous books in this series - we hate Samantha calloway. She puts out a fkn ad that basically puts Jane on the market and says she’s looking for a man which gets a lot of unwanted attention from creeps SO SHE FAKE DATES HER BODYGUARD THATCHER MF MORETTI!!! If I would have known before I wouldn’t have requested it
When I first read the blurb of this on netgalley the concept sounded interesting. I mean a romance between a nonbinary and an asexual girl with fake dating and fighting for queer characters survival on a tv show, that sounds great right - it wasn’t. I did not like this and let me tell you why:
- The fact that this book was even written and published has honestly made me very uncomfortable while reading it because of the authors past comments on lesbians which is extremely weird and wrong of him to do. I do not recommend it. While there are some good quotes in here about queer representation on tv there are also a lot of moments/quotes/conversations that are not done well. - I didn’t get attached to any of the characters. They weren’t fleshed out at all and I didn’t feel any chemistry between the two main characters. And a ”big reveal” in the end wasn’t that shocking to me, I think I actually guessed it very early on - The pacing felt very weird. The beginning felt too fast and there was no time to get to know the characters - The tv show environment felt very unrealistic. I obviously dont work in TV but why are there only two people working on it? They are both the writers and show runners and they are both evil which ofc I know happens but there are more people than that on set
Some lines/moments that felt wrong to me: 1, ”Tell me." Her voice drops low. Conspiratorial. "You don't ... you don't do that awful scissoring thing? I read about it online. Researching you." [then there's more but i'm skipping to the next line of dialogue] "No, ma'am . Never. Pretty sure that's not a real thing."
I´m just…. no words. It definitely is
2, ”A wave of guilt rushes over me. Really? There isn't solidarity between us, at least not in the sense that we have the same mission. Ruby's a woman; I'm pretty sure I'm not. #Morganetta is for queer girls--for all queer people I guess, but mostly girls"
I understand that Frey is going on a journey of understanding their journey but this quote feels like its invalidating their mission to get more queer representation on TV. Even as a nonbinary transmasc person I feel like they would/should show more support with a queer woman
3, ”I don't want to deal with explaining my identity to the world." "You don't have to," I say. "It's easier to say 'I'm a lesbian' because people sort of know what that is and what to expect from you. It's harder to say 'I'm nonbinary' or 'I'm asexual' without getting into a big debate defending that your identity exists. Like, when I first had a crush on a girl, I thought lesbian was the word for me--but that was because I didn't have better words yet to fit all my feelings in."
It’s interesting to follow Frey´s gender journey but this quote bothered me a bit especially knowing about the authors past comments about lesbians
4, "Even in a far future where racism is supposedly long over, where a Black family rules a third of the galaxy, a white woman's story takes priority [....] all I can think is Shit, I never noticed."
This is one of many lines where Frey learns about racism which feels so weird

There was a moment in the middle when I was like "Wait? Thats not the plot twist right? Thats boring it has to be something else" and then BAM the real plot twist slapped me in the face.
Both these characters are likable and while mistakes were definitely made, it all turned out okay in the end which made me happy. HOWEVER I just dont love the idea of them together. at first I did but the more I think about this book the more I dislike it :/ I like the characters a lot individually but not together!

Small town, single parent, fake dating & grumpy/sunshine? Sign me up! This book is very long (around 500 pages) for a romance but it’s so worth it.
IT´S SOO GOOD!! Naomi is about to have her wedding when her twin sister calls and asks for help. Naomi leaves her wedding and goes to Knockemout (small town). When she arrives she realizes her twin hasn’t changed at all and Tina (the twin) helps herself to Naomis car and money but also her own daughter so Naomi is left with her niece that she didn’t know existed. She’s now stuck in a town where she knows no one, one day she walks into a cafe and meets Knox who immediately wants her out of there because he thinks she’s Tina, the twin.
I´m not IN love with them but I love them! As individuals and as a couple! From the beginning we see how grumpy Knox is and I love him for it, hes honestly so hot. There are so many moments that I loved - how grumpy he is and the support he gives Naomi and also the encouragement and pep talks he gives Way!! It was everything<3 I also love Naomi as a character and she’s so relatable. She’s the good kid and follows a plan at all times is always organized. I loved watching her build her new life with her niece. Waylay is also just such a fun character and she really blossoms in this book
The plot is great and so interesting to follow! I was so scared in the end but the epilogue gave me the closure that I needed<3
