The it in question would be as yet elusive EML 5 star for me. I feel like often times we start with premium ingredients but somewhere along the way the recipe is smudged or illegible and the end product misses the mark a bit.
this had a delicious slow burn with plenty of time dedicated to getting to know the MCs individually, which is a great thing imo. but i could tell 60% in that the pacing was off for the number of pages in the book. I wasn't surprised when we barely had time to linger with the couple after they finally did become a couple - which I've seen many times before in EML books.
I'm all for getting to know them separately, but part of the draw of romance for me is seeing how two (or more) people fit together and grow and just an epilogue is not enough time to do that.
i needed 150 pages of domestic bliss to really make this book shine.
but i shall continue in my hunt for the 5 star EML, because even when i don't find it, i still get unique stories with diverse characters that are vibrant, human and so real. on to the next one....more

i loved Bodhi and Caleb. i love that they took their time, the way they learned about each other. and i honestly need to process a whole lot more before i'm able to articulate all the ways i enjoyed this book....more

Diversity should be EM. Lindsey's middle name. This was sweet and super steamy, and the aromantic rep was fantastic. I'm rounding up for the communication in the poly relationship, Nolan's beautifully portrayed identity and Luka and Marko's wonderful idiots in love (and lust) dynamic.
I loved all the MCs, but I wanted a bit more time with these characters. I find that the more MCs in a relationship, the more time we need to fledge things out. Too much felt untapped and unexplored and it feels like such a waste with such great characters.
I would also pay good money to see how Marko and Luka got started. They care so deeply for each other in so many ways and I'm so curious to see how they began....more

I'm glad this wasn't a redemption book. It's not about making amends, showing that deep down Hervé was a good person all along. Because he wasn't. He was just human. I was also extremely glad that Hervé's illness wasn't used to draw up sympathy for him or as a reason for the people he's hurt to forgive him - but this is EML, I shouldn't have worried.
Like most of Lindsey's books this book is intense and makes no apologies for it. It creates a bubble for you to live in and experience for a few hours, and that's plenty.
I'm still searching for the yet elusive 5 star EML - for me personally - but in the mean time, I'll enjoy reading the diverse and intense romances they write, with a guaranteed heaping of feels.

This book gripped me from the very first chapter, once I started it I just had to see it through. My heart broke for Regan from the very first page, and I was there with him for every blow life dealt him.
Surprisingly, Isaac’s plight moved me no less deeply. Two men who spent decades fighting the world and themselves, hoping against hope that they would find each other again
As usual, Lindsey delivers vivid deaf rep. This story isn’t one i’ll soon forget....more
