I am loving these books. There is not only good stories in each book and steamy romances but great overall plots running through the entire series that are built up through multiple books. I really suggest you read a many as possible without skipping and read them in order according to the order posted on Lora Leigh’s website.
Of course there are a few of the early books that are not available, and I didn’t miss them in the continuity, but will read them when they are re-released.

I didn’t want to wait until I got to the end of this to review all six books, so I actually reviewed each book separately when I finished each one under its own title. However. I did give each one 5 stars, so the five star rating for this is deserved. I loved them all. I also picked up the other multi-pack books for the breeds (7-11), Too Hot to Touch, and Overcome.

However you want to refer to sexy times, there were quite a few of them in this book, and boy were they steamy! The two main characters were Haley and Cade. Haley moves in with her older brother and his best friend Cade who live in a College town, though the guys graduated years ago. Haley is transferring to the nearby college to finish her degree. The brother, Tucker knows Cade can’t keep a woman for more than a few days and treats girls like crap. So Tucker makes Cade Promise to not mess with his sister.
Of course Cade is attracted to Haley from the get go, but fights it and Haley starts dating another guy right away, but as you can probably guess, something happens between Haley and the boyfriend and Cade displays his jealousy and they eventually end up together. I will try not to give away any spoilers but want to let you know how I felt about the plot. So here goes. The brother is not home a lot, then he goes away on business for a while so they have a lot of time together to become friends and are very passionate.
I like the fact that it is not insta-love and they do fall deeply which I can see, and it can happen pretty quickly for any two people that are together that much in your early twenties and sleeping together and there is a lot of passion. Though as the story progresses there seems to be one too many things that end up getting in their way.
I mean I can see the brother because that was coming from the beginning, then just when you think they might get back together they don’t and then again just when you think they might work it out, something else comes up. And then I won’t spoil here but even more happens and I think it should have just been workable from that point somehow. Because I didn’t like part of the ending.
That said, I really did like the romance between Haley and Cade and I was even crying at one point. The book held my interest throughout so I give it a 3.8 stars (rounded up to 4). For true love.

It is actually extremely smart when you think about it. I mean the Amish are very overlooked in this country. A hiddeImmortals hiding as Amish!

It is actually extremely smart when you think about it. I mean the Amish are very overlooked in this country. A hidden sect among the Pennsylvania Dutch that is completely self sustaining and has no need to mix with the outside world would be a terrific place for immortals to hide without fear of discovery or persecution. Would people on the outside really ever notice that they are not getting older?
They grow all their own food, make their own clothes and furniture, have very little need for money or anything from the outside world unless one of them is called to find their mate. Adam Hartzler is called to his mate and he goes on a journey to find her. His animalistic nature takes over during the hunt for her and he is drawn closer by dreams he has had of her. His kind only dreams when they are called to a mate and they share those dreams with their mate.
Adam can smell her honeysuckle smell from the dream in the air and it draws him to her. Her name is Annalise Erin Snow, she works in a bar and is a college student studying to be a nurses assistant. Adam has limited time to find her and complete the bond or eventually the animalistic nature inside will take over his humanity and he will stop at nothing to mate with her, possibly killing anyone and anything in his path to find her.
When Adam does find Annalise he has a huge task ahead of him. He is not the kind of man to just take what he sees as his. He wants Anna to choose to be with him and to open the door to loving him. He knows that if he takes what is not freely given that would start things on a betrayal and she would hate him for it. So he sets out to do whatever he can to prove she can trust him. Though it is impossible to do in the “English” world. Or as we would say, in “America”, since we haven’t thought of ourselves as English in hundreds of years.
But trust doesn’t come easy when Annalise is taken from her home and brought to his. Anna sees how women are treated by the men in their community. They are taught to obey the men in everything and treated like second class citizens. Not to mention the fact that they live in the seventeenth century as far as modern conveniences go. Anna is not used to wearing dresses that cover every inch of her body and bonnets with her hair all pinned up underneath in on hot summer days.
I could certainly handle the living conditions in exchange for immortality and a lifetime free of disease and sickness, but being subjugated like that certainly would not be worth the trade off to me. Anna takes her time deciding what she will do, knowing that refusing is basically a death sentence for Adam. She fights every step of the way and there are forces at work that nobody in the community is aware of. Especially when Annalise has dreams that don’t include Adam, but someone else.
The book is actually pretty fantastic, though it does go back and forth quite a bit on what Anna will decide. But you can really feel for her. She is extremely attracted to Adam. The scenes between them get quite steamy and both Adam and Anna are falling for each other, but the decision is heart wrenching as well. The author handles it all very well and the supporting characters are terrific.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts & opinions are my own.
