When Max's best friend's daughter guilts him into agreeing to come visit them for Christmas, it's with dread that Max makes the drive back there, there to a place he never wants to go back. But perhaps Santa thinks he's been a good boy this year because who's the man on duty that night who comes to his rescue when he's stuck in the snow, but Dominic (Nicky), his best friend's little brother. But he's not the same little brother, he's a grown man, a really HOT grown man who Max is having a hard time keeping his hands off when he's stuck at Dominic's house thanks to the storm.

This is the kind of sweet and lighthearted read that's perfect for this holiday season, considering how dark and depressing the world outside is right now. Max and Dominic are adorable together - a little heat, a whole lotta holiday cheer, a brother's best friend trope, and I'm a happy woman after reading.

Leo cannot stand his best friend's fiancée, but Tory's about to marry him, so Leo's here to support her. After all, best friends support each other even if they don't think their choice in partners is worthy. So when Tory finds out her fiancée has been cheating on her, Tory needs to get away. What better place than his home in Boston? He can support her, console her, and he can even become her dating coach? Yeah, her dating coach, to help her put herself back out there. Not to date her himself or anything like that...
Leo and Tory are such a sweet friends to more couple. Their journey from best friends to realizing their mutual feelings and how strong their emotional and physical connection is, is the reason why I love friends to lovers so much. They have that ease and familiarity that only best friends have, with the added bonus of smokin' hot chemistry. While they both realized they could have easily been more than friends much earlier in their friendship, Leo was right, when he told her in a heartfelt moment, that coming together now in their present had given them time to become the people they are now, the people who deserved each other. Leo's family was around to offer support, meddling lol, and lots of love to both of them, especially to Tory, whose own family was seriously lacking. The Whitley family is awesome, now I'm impatiently waiting for the last brother, Nick, to fall in love.
Everybody knows that Poppy's had a crush on her brother's best friend nearly her whole life, but that Jax doesn't think of her as anything other than his friend's sister. But sometimes she's wondered, probably deluded herself into thinking she sees something else. So one night she shows up on his doorstep, determined to get him to admit how he really feels. Sounds like a plan, but now there are unintended consequences. Will this bring them closer together or be the thing that finally severs their friendship?
Jax has baggage, and it's closed off his heart. He keeps everyone at a distance, especially his best friend's little sister. He knows she's off limits, knows he's not anywhere near good enough for her. But when she shows up at his place, he can't resist his feelings any longer. But now things are even more complicated and Jax will have to decide if he'll step up, even if it means his heart could be broken.
Brother's best friend, pining, and accidental pregnancy?!? I knew I had to read as soon as I saw these tropes. And Poppy and Jax definitely did not disappoint. I wanted to just hug poor Jax when his backstory came out. My heart was crying for him, and it made things that much harder for him and Poppy to traverse their journey, because of the baggage it had given him. Thank God they finally got on the same page, even though it took them awhile. Theirs is a sweet, sexy story with two lovable characters. I'm definitely in love with the Wilder Family now, and can't wait for Parker's story.
Being in witness protection sucks, especially the part where it means Ashley is alone and in her feels. Her ex-fiancé betrayed her and disappeared, and now Ashley's a different person, living a life she never wanted. But what if everything they told her was wrong? What if Noah (Aaron) is back and taking her with him? Trying to prove they belong together and that he truly loves her? Does she believe him with her heart and go with him? Or go with her head and say goodbye?
Aaron is a determined man. He's been setup and his woman was taken from him. But he'll get her back, clear his name, and show her how real their love is, if it's the last thing he does. He just has to get them through this alive (and with a little help) first...
What a rollercoaster! Action-packed, filled with lies and secrets, and the ever deepening physical and emotional connection between Ashley and Aaron, I was on the edge of my seat the whole way through. Walker Security is along for the ride, helping the way they do best, after some convincing that Aaron could trust them, and it made me smile to read them again. Aaron kinda pissed me off more than once, but Ashley is awesome! I was rooting her on the whole time, and was so glad she got her happy ever after at the end.
Reath's best friend has asked him to watch over his sister Francesca, but she hasn't been answering his calls. Since she's been dodging him, he's about to go see her face to face. But what's a protective guy to do when he finds out the beautiful woman he kissed and can't get off his mind is said sister? Well, do what Jack asked and protect her when it becomes obvious someone is after her. And perhaps give his heart to her along the way...
Frankie's project and research has life changing possibilities, and someone with not so honorable intentions seems intent on taking it for themselves. She's got her brother's best friend for protection, but what of her heart? Reath doesn't do love of the romantic kind, and Frankie isn't sure she can be in such close proximity to the man without falling for him. So a no feelings allowed thing will have to do, and she'll just have to keep her feelings to herself.
I knew as soon as Reath and Frankie laid eyes on each other that they'd fall in love. And they did, quickly. But the journey there was fast-paced, action-packed, and seriously delicious. Reath is the quiet Fury, but you know what they say about the quiet ones...they've got a lot going on beneath the surface, and boy did Reath! Like his brothers, he had emotional baggage from his time in foster care, and it had given him the idea that love wasn't for him. Then a smart af, strong Frankie came along and in short time, blew that idea out of the water. Though their story is definitely insta-love, it feels natural and the two of them so deserved that love they found with each other. Beau's story, Claim, is next, and I'm not sure I can wait until October for it.
Waking up married is something that typically happens in Vegas, but it's a first for Ember and Hudson. They can use it to their advantage, though. For his career and hers. And for much, much more, if they let themselves feel everything you feel in a real marriage.
Accidental Vegas marriage turned marriage of convenience - sign me up! Hudson is the sweetest, and he wears his heart on his sleeve for the woman who caught his eye as soon as he saw her. They may have been apart for a minute, but it was obvious he'd find her, and when he did...whew! Ember needed lessons, and Hudson was the perfect man to give her those lessons. And he did it in delicious style. Ember is a strong, awesome heroine who had horrible parents but found a family with Hudson and her colleagues, found people to give her the love she deserved and never had but should have. I fell in love with this sweet, gorgeous couple and their found family. Now I'm going to go back and read the first installment of this series, and plan on reading all the ones to come.
Reese is just trying to dodge the worst date when she meets a grumpy but gorgeous tattoo artist. She may have been able to hold her own against him that night, but what of when she walks into her new job and finds he's the managing partner at her new law firm where she's just landed a paralegal job? Will she let Dawson take care of her as he wants? Will she hand him her heart as well as her body?
Dawson's whole world is thrown off kilter when a much younger woman waltzes into his secret world as a tattoo artist, then into his other world as a ruthless attorney. He wants her. He can't have her according to their no-fraternization policy, but Dawson's used to taking what he wants. How long will Reese resist what he knows is between them? And how can he get around their forbidden limitations?
I love a good workplace romance, when the two characters are as adorable as Dawson and Reese, I'm even happier. He's a decade older, grumpy to her sunshiney sassiness, and determined to have her from the first second he lays eyes on her. But what makes them so good together is that his ruthless doesn't extend to his heart - he is so sweet and swoony with her, even as she resists him. And she's so strong, feisty and independent, not wanting to rely on him even though he wants to, does, take care of her. But she could only resist for so long, and when she finally gave in, the spice was so yum! Age gaps are not normally my thing, especially when the two are in such different places in life, but Reese and Dawson make this trope look good because the gap, though it was significant, didn't matter in the end, wasn't an obstacle they couldn't overcome.
Tamsyn and Lucien are finally together and things are looking up, until someone from his past storms in and upsets everything. Tamsyn has to decide if she'll stand up for herself, or let herself be drawn back into his web.
Oh the cliffhanger again!! You're killing me with these awful endings, Ava! I wanted to smack Lucien at the end, cuz the man reverted back to form and now poor Tamsyn world is off its kilter again, thanks to Lucien once again unilaterally making decisions for them. I am very impatiently waiting for the final part of this trilogy now - because I have to know how Tamsyn and Lucien get out of this mess Lucien got them into.
Kim made a serious mistake when she allowed herself a memorable night with her best friend's soon to be brother-in-law. But she's back, broke, and needs a job, when who turns out to be her new boss? Yep, that same ons, one of the most dangerous men in Vegas. She can't let him distract her from her dream, though, even when she finds out she's pregnant. Because Leo is not about to step up for her, he's not one for commitment, and he's got a lot of other things on his plate, like revenge.
It's always fun when an alphahole, commitment-phobe has his world rocked and knocked off kilter by love. Leo really didn't know what hit him when he met Kim and couldn't stop thinking about her, after she left and never called. And even when she walked into his life again, he was thinking he'd just keep her around for fun, when in reality, he was already falling in love. I wasn't sure what to think of Leo in his brother's story, but in his own story, he's grown so much and has become the man Kim deserves. Their connection is deliciously hot, and by the end it was even stronger when they were free to be in love.
Luke is one of THOSE Jamesons. And he's inherited all their traits - the ruthlessness, the distrust of everyone, the ice running through his veins...you get the picture. Then a beautiful, kickass woman finds her way into his life, burrows beneath his skin and into his heart. But trusting her could be the biggest mistake of his life and it will take everything in him to keep loving her after her secrets come to light.
Duchess has many, many secrets, and one of them is the big one, the one that can upend her life, the life she's making for herself with the man she can't resist. But if Luke can't trust her because of all her secrets, what hope does she have at making a relationship work with him? And more importantly, what hope do they have at making it out of this mess ALIVE if they don't have trust between them?
Wow, so freaking intense! Luke and Duchess make one hell of a couple with all the twists and turns and secrets that make up their relationship. I can't say that Luke is all that likable, anti-hero, ruthless Mafia criminal that he is. But along came this amazing, sassy DJ who had the right combination to unlock his heart, they just had to hurdle a few obstacles, learn to trust each other, learn to love each other, and they were finally able to have something neither ever could have imagined when they first met. If you're a fan of Luke's family (Road to Nowhere series), you'll definitely want to read Luke's story. I personally loved his story because of Duchess, though. She's amazing - a survivor with a strong backbone, a feisty mouth, and a big, tender heart.
Waking up next to a gorgeous guy after a night of fun in Vegas should have been one of those "what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas..." kind of things for Natalie. But of course it's never that easy and even further complicated for both Natalie and Rhett when he turns out to be someone quite different than he had presented to her. Now they're stuck in a marriage neither was prepared for, at the same time trying to keep it on the low lest the complicated part become even stickier. This marriage only stands a chance though, if Natalie can get past her fears of hurting Rhett's career, and if Rhett allows himself to forgive her.
Rhett didn't really lie to his new wife when they first met. He just didn't tell her the whole truth, and now that omission could cause him to lose everything - his career AND his new wife. Though they may have married accidentally, he wants to keep her, and he's determined to do just that. But how can he keep someone who won't fight for them? Won't see past her own fears?
Football season is about to start here, in fact, my 49ers just had their first preseason game today, and I was cheering like mad. Then I read Rhett and Natalie's story and now I really, really want my own tight end. I wonder if George Kittle's wife would mind if I stole him away...anyway, I digress. I love this accidentally married couple. Rhett is a golden retriever sweetheart in a tight end's body who falls hard and fast, falls first for a woman whose heart isn't open at first. Natalie is equally sweet but has so much to work through, and it took her a long time to get to that epiphany moment. I was a little anxious wondering if she'd get her head on straight. Thankfully the author allayed my anxiety and gave them a very sweet, hard won happy ever after. I'm not sure which Arrows player is going to fall in love next, but I know I'll be reading!
Elora's on a journey when she meets Roman, a man as filled with grief for his loss as she is for her loss. Now they're on this journey together, learning each other, opening up to each other, and healing each other, one moment at a time. But when the causes of their grief come front and center, and they have to get back to their real lives, will they do it as a unit, or go their separate ways?
Roman's adrift since he lost Val. Then he meets this woman who has pain in her eyes that mirrors his own, and it calls to him, she calls to him. He's never felt for another woman the way he's starting to feel for Elora, and all he wants to do is continue to know her, forever. He doesn't care what his family has to say about it, and nothing they say or imply will change his mind. But when he's called home to the only other person who matters so deeply to him, it will test their newfound bond, and they'll either be together, or she'll decide she can't with his obnoxious family.
Wow, I was not expecting this one to get to my heart quite so heartbreakingly. I could just feel both their pain, and it was so raw and they were both still grieving so much that I wanted to cry with them. But the way they formed this instant connection that only deepened the longer they were on the road trip more than made up for all the pain they were in. I love that though they had an instant connection, the physical was slow burn with sizzling chemistry, letting the emotional bond to take on the most significance and that by the time they did fully come together - it was explosive. Though Aurora made me cry with Elora and Roman's story, I forgive her, because by the end I was smiling as they sweetly found the happiness, healing, and love they deserved.
Charlie and Daniel, Silas and Eily, and Redix and Cade, have come to this island to celebrate Halloween with some of their favorite people. They're going to have a celebration full of love, sex, kink, and...a haunting? Because Eily just may have conjured up someone to come celebrate with them, someone who isn't exactly on the up and up. And there may be an even more...how shall we say - sinister being there with them. One that might be of the supernatural/paranormal kind that might be related to one of our favorite characters.
Now this is how you do Halloween. Kelly's best characters are here further cementing their love. It may not be in the conventional way, and it may not be for everyone, but her particular brand of love is awesome. Each of the 3 couples plus their friends, knows that love is love is love. They do have some boundaries, but no judgments, and no closed minds. Add in a spooky, unknown haint, a villain, and the generally spooky atmosphere of the island, and Halloween for Six is Kelly's best yet. It's seriously spicy, it's funny, and all the characters are even more lovable here as they fall deeper into love with each other. I'm not sure of them are going to celebrate the next holiday together, but I definitely hope so. And I'm also extremely impatient now for a certain someone's story to come, it should be downright naughty!
Emily knows she blew the interview she bumbled her way into. But then she accidentally walks into the wrong restroom, meets the right guy, and now she's on tour with his band, Delirious Jones. She could have never foreseen the emotional connection she and Tristan would forge, the friendship they'd form. And she should have seen what else was to come...
Tristan knows his new employee is as off-limits as they come, but he's so drawn to her. She's different than the usual females that he and his band encounter - she didn't even know who he was when they met. And now they're becoming closer and closer, bonding emotionally. If he's not careful, he's going to fall in love with Emily...
Emily and Tristan are quite simply, beautiful together. Theirs is a slow burn, surprising and twisty love story that had my heart in all kinds of knots. When I think of rockstar romances, I have an idea in mind, but Tristan and Emily took that idea and tilted it off the axis of tortured rockstar love that I'm used to. I didn't want their story to end, but by the time it did end, I was smiling and happy this amazing couple found the love and joy they never expected to find.
