So... I really enjoy the reading (and ok, I really enjoy Reyes!). I love Charley... and Cookie, and Angel, and Quentin and all the characters (and Reyes!!!!). I love the writing... Darynda make me laugh: Charley is fantastic, and the duo Charley-Cookie is amazing. And in all her books happened so many things, you can be bored! (view spoiler)[The wall thing was fantastic! I laughed a lot (and loved Reyes, obviously!). The only thing that was not so super is that Charley is pregnant. I don't like when the main character become pregnant, especially if her life is not suited for a baby... and I mean: she's a Grim Reaper (maybe the most powerful Grim Reaper, and she doesn't know who she really is. Ok she knows she's the Reaper, but she knows just that and there is a lot more to discover) and he, the father, he is the son of Satan (literally, he is truly Lucifer's son). And she is abducted and tortured in all the books, given or taken, so... how can they have a baby??? But baby apart i really really loved this book (hide spoiler)]

I was hoping to read a really good thriller and so I chose this one, because Connelly is great, but this book was quite boring.
There are two cases and the major one was more a political question that a real investigation, while the minor one was far more intersting, but it was the minor one so we couldn't follow it very well, and it's a shame. I'm happy for Bosch, because the things with his daughter are going well, but I didn't understand Hannah... why she want him? And what was the problem? I couldn't understand.
Usually Connelly books are great and fast paced, but this one was kinda boring....more

The reading When I started the reading I was thinking (and hoping) that this one was a stand alone novel. But... no! It's not! And it's very annoying.
The reading was good, the idea is original and the characters are intersting. It's too cruel for my tastes, I don't like when characters and situation are too mean and cruel, expecially without a good reason, so this one was a big minus for this book. But I liked all the rest, Laia and Elias were intersting, the world is new and I liked it and I liked that it remeber the Roman Empire (I have to say that I was skeptical about this, but once started reading I was in love, so yay!).
But I really didn't like the ending, because, seriously, this is not an end!!!! It's frustrating and annoying as hell!...more

He's the luckiest character in the world, because without luck he would have been dead at page 10, but he survive until the end (and far beyond. We have also a third book and I coulnd't wait to read it!).
Sage is amusing, irreverent, he knows his mind and he knows what he want and what to do to obtain it. And he tries, he tries very hard to do the right thing (or what he thinks is the right thing). Sometimes is just unlucky, but it seems just fair.
I was almost bored in the start but I totally fall in love with him in the end. I'm just a little bit sad (view spoiler)[for Imogen. Endig a part, I loved Jazz. He's a very unique and intersting character, and, sometimes, he reminds me of Hannibal Lecter, in a good way! Howie is fantastic, and Connie and Sam are not bad (but Connie and the self preservation don't know each others!!!!!).

I completely forget about this novel, so thanks to Giovanna that remind me about it! *_* I was reading Unravel Me but I stopped the reading and started this one... and I'm very very happy! So... now I'm totally in love with Warner, because... how cannot I? He's so sweet in his own way, and he's a character so complex, so real and so human that's simply amazing. I really loved that we had a chance to see what he really thinks, and what he really feels. I loved that this novella can give us so much about him, and so much about the story, because if we understand better Warner, we understand better the first book, but also the second one... and I totally like it!
And ok... now I want Warner all for myself. Am I an egoist? Sure! But sue me!!!! :P...more

Juliette is always whining, and Adam is so full of self-loathing (and Juliette, too. They're a good couple: pity party and self-loathing at every pages!). It's annoying! The ending give me hope, and so I'll read the third one, but this one was annoying.
I loved Mafi's writing, it's very peculiar and original, and it makes the book more realistic, because it really seems that was Juliette's speaking. And the story was good (except the pity parties), too, but this book annoyed me....more

In the end this book was disappointing. Oz is an amazing world, and some places are really fabulous and intersting, and some charachters are really good, like Polly, Bright and Heatcliff (OMG, Heatcliff, he was amazing! I really don't know if I liked this one or not. I mean, I was sort of content while I was reading it, because Hoover's writing is good, and she makes intersting all the things she wrote in this book. I loved the double POV and the fact that one of them is in the present, and the other one is in the past, because it gives us a more complete point of vew. We can understand better the whys and the hows, so the writing and the books structure for me were very good. And I liked Miles, his character is good, and it's very realistic, and I felt sorry for him for all the book, or almost all of it. But I didn't like so much Tate. I mean, I'm sorry for her, too, and I understand the situation, sort of. But she's a grown up and all her delusions are her fault (I know that's it's not completely true, and that's not a simple thing) but, however, she knows how the things stands and she's the one that become too delusional. (view spoiler)[I'm not a mean person and I am truly happy for the ending. I'm happy for the two of them and I loved the happy ending, so it's all well and good. (hide spoiler)]. And I liked her disposition, because she seems so strong, funny and clever. But for someone's sake! She became jelly as soon as she sees Miles. I loved their first meeting, and I was hoping that she remains herself for all the book, or at least for half of it! I don't like the instantlove, and in this book there's too much of it! I don't know if I really like this one. I didn't dislike it, that's for sure... but really liked it? I don't know. Cole sometimes is just plain stupid and it's annoying. Ali sometimes is a martyr, and it's not so original or intersting. (view spoiler)[I'm also very very very sad for Frosty. I know that Kat would have to die, eventually, but I'm sad nonetheless! And Milla and Juliana? So unoriginal! And why all the girls in this series has to love Cole at the first sight? (Ok, not all of them. Some of the girls love Cole and they had know him for good, but it's not important): Gena describes all her characters are awsome, amazing and beautiful and all the girls just want Cole. Why???????? I'd like to read more about River and Gavin, they seem intersting and good!

So... I didn't really think that I could fall in love so "easily" after the end of Shin's and Olgun adventures, but I was wrong, and for once I didn't mind (usually I love to be right and I hate when I'm wrong, but for this one I didn't mind. I'm happy!!!!!).
Wow. This book is amazing, and I mean it. From the start to the end, it's perfect. The story is intriguing, fascinating, absorbing (I really couldn't stop to read it!!!) and good. It's a good and I don't think that Young Adult is a quite right label, for me it's more appropriate the label "epic fantasy". Sometimes it reminds me of another book that I loved: Blood Song and I loved Paladin more for this.
The writing is good and compelling and the characters... they're simply amazing! I loved them all! (Ok, I loved more Sam and Braeden and Tristan, but all the characters are good!). You simply couldn't not fall in loe with them! For once I was completely and utterly in love with the female charachter (and in this period is not an easy thing for me), I loved Sam, she's so funny, resolute, she knows her mind, and she's a really kick-ass heroine, yay! Braeden was my favourite. It was really love at first sight! And I am a superficial person, because when I firt read about him I fall in love and it was just a description (but, really.. silver hair and split pupils, how can you resist???). And Sam's parents... they're not to present in the book but they are in the starting, and they're quite good! I mean... they are really parents, they're the real thing! And ok, maybe they're a little bit medieval, but they are parents for true, and it's a very hard thing to find in books! So... wow!
Maybe I'll come back to write something more sensible, but for now... wow, wow, wow! You have to read it! ...more

I was thinking to re-read this series now that I can easily read in english (and maybe to continue it) and when I saw the italian translation I couldn't resist! (So, thanks to the friend that borrow it to me!).
I'm not too satisfied with the translation but I liked the reading, and now I have to dig in my virtual bookshelf to find the other because I want more of Jaz and Vayl. Maybe Vayl history is not the most original (view spoiler)[ a romanian gipsy who was somehow cursed, and who considered himself accountable for the destruction of his own family (hide spoiler)] but the book is quite old (ok, it's not old, but it was written in 2007 so it's not the newest) so it was quite original when it was written, and for me it's ok. And I liked it. I liked also the world built by Rardin, I liked the idea that vampire, werewolves, witches and demons are in it, but, for now, she doesn't explain too much. I mean, the vampires, the demons and the seers are in this book, so we learn something, and we know that there are werewolves because the heroine says so, but we don't see them and we don't know a thing about them, so maybe a little bit of worldbuilding wouldn't hurt, but for a first book is not so bad. I hope that in the others we see more of the world (I can't remember, so I hope). (view spoiler)[ I liked also that Liliana dies in this book, maybe I'm cruel and bloodthirsty, but I liked it nonetheless (hide spoiler)]...more

In the first one I didn't like Kitty, and I hoped that in the second book the things would go better, but... nope. I don't like her. Sure, she has some good moments, but they're just that... moment. I dislike Genevieve and Lara Jean sometimes was annoying (view spoiler)[she's too obsessed with Gen, for exemple (and I'm glad that, in the end, she understand it herself) and when she tries to change Josh mind is very annoying. I can understand that Margot is her sister, but Josh's choise in understandable and was Margot who dumped him in the first place, so no recremination. (hide spoiler)] And when the main characters is annoying it's not a good sign. I hope that this one would be the last one of the series. (view spoiler)[And the unoriginal thing: Anonybitch, the little sister of Gossip Girl... oh well! Then we have the daughters who try to couple the dad... do you rember a dozen of movies about that?? I liked the first one because it was original. The first book tell the story of a girl with the typical teenager's problems but it tell the story originally. In this second book is just a teenager with the typical problem and nothing peculiar or original. At some points there are the letters, I loved them in the first and I loved them in this second book, but they're short lived. (hide spoiler)] And then it's very predictable. The story it's not the most original, but was intersting and, in some points, I couldn't put down the book. The characters are good, but some of them have more potential. For exemple George. He's a Fool, and I love the Fools characters, but, in the end, he's not so witty or ironic or eccentric, so I'm a little bit disappoint with him. Virginia, you could do better!

The characters are intersting and peculiar, but they're not unforgettable. The story is sad, and the author is very capable to write with sense and sensibility about death and loss. I loved her writing. But I didn't love the love triangle (it makes sense, so I'm not complaining too much, but I didn't like it). And, all in all, there are some things that don't get an answer (view spoiler)[like the questions about her mother. Will she come back? (hide spoiler)].

But I have fallen in love with the world building: I loved it from the start to the end. I think that the author really did a good job and I want to know more about the world she created. I found it very original and well done. So I hope to read more about it. I loved Autumn descriptions (and the descriptions about Autumn's inhabitant). The same for Winter and the Winterian.
I just dislike the name of the villain... I mean, Angra Manu, really? It has to be a super-uber-hyper villain to like is name sake! And it's nothing special, at least in this first book.
