I always like a good amnesia plot in a book, and that's the mainly reason why I've decided to read this, because the premise sounds enticing. This book opens with our newlywed characters Lierin & Ashton in a ship then suddenly the ship was attacked by a pirates, then Lierin fell in the water and Ashton being shot. Then 3 years later Ashton see his " young wife" again but here comes the dilemma, she doesn't remember him at all including her name‼️ and of course the story progresses from there.
I have some notes in the book that really sounds offensive for me. I didn't appreciate how the author easily speaks about rape and maybe I'm just dumb but whenever the author use the "N word" to their servants (which all are black people) i don't have enough knowledge regarding historical or regency reign because I wasn't even born at that era, but I just wish that the author doesn't use a derogatory remarks and really thinks first what she's writing. Because it's kinda feel disrespectful & rude at the same time. And also the middle portion of the book I felt like there's a lot of fiasco's going on within the characters that I think isn't necessarily needed in the book, I just got tired reading all the clichés.
“The difference between seduction and rape, my love, is the simple word no. All you have to do is say it.”
regardless I did like the story and I'm so glad that the book ended well and doesn't further go south. I appreciate that the author sticks with the main plot and doesn't tried to give pointless plot twist and character development.
“For three years I searched, but I could find no woman to take your place. I was a man, and yet I could not settle back into the relaxed standards of a rutting bachelor. I had this burning hunger in my loins that haunted me, but I could find no release. Call me bedeviled. Call me mad. Call me hopelessly and completely in love with a dream that only you can fulfill.”

Oh boy! I'm so glad I'd went blind for this, and I finally decided to read this! This book is full of angst, tension, heartache especially our male lead Jason Fielding, he has a dark and hurtful past that leads him to be a hardened person. That's why when he saw Victoria carrying a piglet, he knows that Tory is different, a ray of sunshine.
This book is slooooow burn, has great building of characters. I absolutely loved the banter, the push and pull element. Whilst I'm reading this my emotion are all over the place.
And I can say I'm so excited to read other books by this author. ❤️...more

How do I start? Hmm the plot of this book is a bit different from her fifty shades Trilogy this is a lot "tamer" than the latter.
the story follows Maxim who's a manwhore especially since he was screwing his dead brother's wife Caroline, who're also his best friend. I just can't fathom the grieving as the reason why they did that what a lame reasoning. moving forward now Maxim haunting by guilt decided to screw 2 women every night. Then one morning he sees Alessia unbeknownst to him that Alessia is his new maid since Krystyn went back to Poland. And when he saw her angelic beautiful face he thought that he might be dreaming. Both of them are attracted to one another. But there's more to it, Alessia is harboring a secret and Maxim wants to unravel the mystery behind the angelic face.
The Mister is a romantic novel about a man who falls for his maid "daily". It is sexy and mysterious.
E.L James writes again a story that make us believe love knows no boundaries...more
