College, hockey bro sweetness. I’m not one usually for low-angst but between best friends-to-lovers, sexual awakenings and hockey teammates - how could I resist?!?!?
Shaw and Burk have both had suspicions about their sexuality and attraction to men but are acting on it for the first time ever with each other. It starts off a little ridiculous (a sex toy delivery turns into a little steamy fun) but it quickly turns adorable fast. This was new adult paranormal/dark academia at its best. This book is about a small university town that is full of witches. There is plenty of history there among these founding witch families. The different types of magic, how they are practiced, necromancers, stormbringers, secret university classes for witches… it all made this feel so very atmospheric.
Cassius and Graeme are both from families that have been feuding and harboring hatred for centuries (hello Romeo & Juliet). They have a lot of animosity but are also insanely drawn to each other and can’t seem to stay away from each other for long. Their chemistry was off the charts. And the enemies-to-lovers progression was perfect - it wasn’t quick and these two struggle with their attraction: they attack each other, have major trust issues, have hate sex, and overall fight tooth and nail against falling in love (looking at you Cassius ...more

This is a story of a broken boy who keeps all others at a distance and the one man who could break through his walls and become his person.
In a way this gave me All For The Game vibes. Preston’s life, while maybe not super believable, was quite devastating and there were parts that were hard to read. He has been abused (read: tortured) by his father his whole life.
These two are total opposites. Preston is grumpy, disciplined, judgemental and does not make it easy to get along with him. Jeremy is sunshine - an easy-going and fun guy, The kind of guy that people gravitate towards.
They are roommates and teammates (yeah this is a hockey romance too ✌ we love to see it). Jeremy is instantly captivated by his new roommate and they start to engage in a few sexual encounters (hiii locker room voyeurism), but before long Jeremy begins to question some of Preston’s actions and starts putting the pieces together and realizes that Preston is not as okay as he portrays.
Walls get broken down between them, little by little, until Jeremy is the one person Preston cannot live without (literally). The codependency was ...more
This was even better than the first one. But then again friends-to-lovers just hits different for me.
I absolutely loved Robbie & Brandon. Rating 4.5/5
This was even better than the first one. But then again friends-to-lovers just hits different for me.
I absolutely loved Robbie & Brandon. They are opposites in so many ways and play different roles in the frat (one in charge of fun and one in charge of safety - essentially). But they are close friends who have always gravitated towards each other. Bickering aside, they often seek each other out to play video games, eat breakfast, walk to classes together, etc.
Robbie is questioning his sexuality and after a couple very hot kisses with Brandon the two decide to experiment together (*ahem* exclusively....). Watching their feelings develop into falling in love was wonderful.
These two were so sweet. Since they already were close friends they intuitively knew what the other needed in certain situations. I really loved how Robbie spent a lot of effort bringing out the fun side of Brandon and helping him to let loose. And Brandon's just total acceptance and love of Robbie exactly the way he is was perfect (even if Robbie is a giant idiotic, lovable man-child).
Also once these boys were in they were all in for experimenting. The steam was fantastic (sex toys, wall sex, flipping.. mmhmm)
I'm super excited to read Zeke & Charles' story next! (They seem so different and I absolutely cannot wait to see Zeke MAKE Charles loosen up)....more

Liam and Noah are new colI had very high hopes for this one since I absolutely loved Becca Steele’s Savage Rivals. But this one just fell flat for me.
Liam and Noah are new college roommates but prior to Noah moving in, they actually have an altercation involving their cars. This sets them up to be “enemies” but really it was just Liam being an asshole. Although they both don’t like each other they are both pretty much instantly attracted to the other (even though Liam is “straight”) and it proceeds from there.
I think my main issue with this book was that I just didn’t feel their connection. They both think the other one is hot but there doesn’t seem to be anything deeper than that. Even near the end, once they are catching true feelings we just aren’t shown what about the other’s character they are drawn to besides the physical. I just needed more.
As for Liam: it’s a bisexual awakening story but his reasons for not wanting to confront his sexuality are just plain flimsy. His mother was accepting, more than half of his friends are LGBTQIA+, and he just “has always considered himself straight”. But after having sex with another man so many times I think you need to do just even a tiny bit introspection my dude (this finally happens at 81%).
Noah was a more likeable character but I wanted him to stand up for himself a bit more. He had been used in the past by a jock and here he was again - agreeing to be friends with benefits with another jock that he has actual feelings for. Maybe I just needed to see more of why he would put himself through this other than he found Liam very attractive.
In the end, this was a really basic, easy to read new adult book if you’re looking for something uncomplicated. And there are plenty of sex scenes to keep you entertained - one might even say too many ...more

This is a new adult (starts in high school) grumpy/sunshine romance.
Rhett (our grumpy broken boy) really grew on me. He really did have a lot of growth throughout this book. At first, I was a bit unsure about him (some of his actions were not explained too well and it did him a disservice at first). He really does show more depth of character as we continue through the book though.
A lot of this book deals with being a foster child and the foster system which was new to me. A lot of it was heartbreaking but also so many sweet beautiful moments. This was probably my favorite aspect of the whole story ❤️
Grayson was sweet but fell a little flat for me. His "struggles" were also glossed over way too easily in the end.
I also could've done without the whole Bree thing (IYKYK).
I would like to read more by this author as some of her other books sound really intriguing (they have more adult characters so maybe they will hit differently for me)....more
