A Night in the Lonesome October

A strange tale narrated by the dog, "Snuff", involving a lot of "Halloweenish" characters placed together to play "the Game" as either "openers" or "closers". It wasn't until the last three chapters that the reader finally gets a better idea of what "the Game" is about. I like to read scary (not too scary!) or spooky books in October. This book was neither scary nor spooky to me. It was just weird. Not sure I would recommend it to anyone I know, although I sort of liked it.
