Jewel I've got it on preorder :)

Tried netgalley a few days ago and the publisher turned me down. Seems they only like reviewers that review for websites. So they'll probably let you have it :)

HA, is this the part where I say, "If they don't, I may just let THEM have it!" *wink*

I worked PR for Megan on the first book like it was a stripper pole and my name was CANDY. hehe

Me too. I don't have a blog. Seems they only want bloggers with more than 1000 followers. :(

Jewel Damn, they're fucking picky! Not only a blog, but 1000 followers. *shakes head*

$2.99 is not a price I will complain about, that's for sure.

And, yeah, you did work it. LOL

No, Neil's a little old for me but hubby and I have been fans of his music since we were teenagers so when we heard he was playing in Toontown we couldn't resist. It's kind of my bucket list to attend concerts of the singers/groups that I really liked and who are still around. So far I've seen Rod Stewart (x2), The Eagles, Billy Joel and after tomorrow I'll be able to cross Neil Diamond off the list. We took a pass on Elton John because holy crap his ticket prices were so obscene it was just too rich for our budget (had a kid in college at the time and it was either EJ tickets or his tuition or at least that's what it seemed like and they weren't even going to be great seats.

Yeah, music's pretty powerful for trips down memory lane.

My sister in Nashville called me a couple of months ago (losing her ever-lovin' mind) because she saw a Pat Benatar reunion concert on PBS and knew how much I liked her back when the dinosaurs roamed the earth and God was just a boy. : )

I'm not a big fan of his music, not to say that his music is good or bad it just doesn't appeal to me that's all, sorry try not to hate me too much because ironically I think Billy Idol is adorably funny. I've seen him in a few interviews and he had a small part in Adam Sandler's movie The Wedding Singer and I thought he was awesome.

It was San Jose, Costa Rica, so VERY, VERY urban. There was razor wire everywhere. Picture the *opposite* of Jurassic Park. That was along the coasts.

Ok well that just killed the visual of you off having a fun time in Costa Rica. Your anonymity is safe with me. I just wanted to say I love my computer to someone who might at least not roll their eyes at me (my kid, if it's not a Mac yadda, yadda) but I happen to love my Dell. Especially this one. I got a 13" so it's nice and portable and when I'm in my office it connects to my lovely 24" Dell monitor, I freakin' love it. Ok, I'm done now.

They gave me a crazy tricked out 15.6" ultra-lightweight, insanely thin laptop that sells for about $2400. It feels about as heavy as my hubby's work iPad. Love, love, LOVE it.

Shhhhhhh....

When I was in my class for work, the instructor asked me if I had considered teaching. They're looking for another person on the training team. I said 'absolutely not'. There are 2 huge issues for me - 1) It would be ALL travel and 2) WAY too many hours. Easily 60+ Not no, but hell no.

Oh,. and the position in my company would be internal training as well as customer training. If it was all internal, I'd have considered it (still probably would have turned it down, but I would have thought about it). But I really dislike most of our customer base that I have met and have no desire to spend that much time with them.

I really admire good teachers. Frankly, they are overworked, underpaid and under appreciated. I don't have the temperament for it. At. All.

And the travel wouldn't be fun travel, at all. Yeah, I'd get airline miles, but I wouldn't have time to enjoy wherever I was being sent.

Me neither and yes to everything else. My sister taught for years and the stories she use to tell us some of them just made me cringe. She worked a larger city. Honestly it's scary at times. She had a student who regularly threw his desk, his parents didn't see what the problem was.

I think he finally got suspended because the school thankfully didn't share his parents attitude about his slinging a desk around. I find it amazing what some people find acceptable from their kids but I'm betting if someone else's kid did the same thing it would be a different story.

Unfortunately true and I think a lot of parents have forgotten that being a good parent is work it doesn't just happen. My son had a friend in public school whose parents were so busy ripping each other apart they forgot to pay attention to him. He was a nice kid tiny in stature and he got picked on a lot so he started carrying knives. I found this out one day 5 minutes before he was due to arrive at my house to work on a school project so when he knocked at my door I relieved him of his knives (all 3 or them and one was scary assed sucker let me tell you)I told him he could have them back when he left. We had a long talk about why carrying weapons were a bad plan and I told him as long as he didn't have any weapons on him he was always welcome in my home. He showed up at our place a lot after that and never again with a weapon.

My son ran into him a few years after they'd each graduated high school. He was doing good things, had gone to college and was having a good life. He told my son it was because I took the knives away from him. All I can say is if that's even a little bit true I'm glad that he gave me the chance to talk to him and that he listened even a little bit. It takes a village, right?
