3.5 stars because of the not-so-fancy surprise ending and because of the cat... but overall I, personally, wasn't wowed... not sure why not, plz judge for yourself.

J. Boo I would like to get my daughter interested in tea parties - the improved odds of cookies and tiny sandwiches has always struck me as one of the principal advantages of having a girl. "Kid's Books Featuring Tea Parties" is a smaller subgenre than I expected, though.

Cheryl I suppose it is, nowadays. Fancy Nancy has it covered I guess. How about doll house parties? There are *lots* of dolls, and Borrowers, kinds of books. Or at least there were.

J. Boo Thanks - put "Fancy Nancy" on my to-read. Hadn't thought of the doll angle, but that is traditionally something that would go together.

I found this non-comprehensive list:

Cheryl Thank you.
I only had three boys, and had no sister; sometimes I wonder what little girls are really like.

J. Boo It was all boys when I was growing up, too.

From a sample size of one - man, they're different.

I remember when DD, just turned 2, was starting to assert herself against the dominant local culture (ie her older brother). DS#1 announced that he when he grew up, he would have a tank. DD riposted that she would have a pink tank, driven by kitty cats.

Cheryl LOL! Terrific!
