Wow! That was so HOT! If you love angsty, forbidden love stories with a cocky, sexy-as-sin man in uniform, then “Turbulence” is definitely a book you should sink your teeth into. This was exactly what I needed to read and more. This was the first book I have read by Whitney G. and I can assure you it won’t be the last.

I am always a magnet for the mysterious tortured alpha male hero with a secret past and “Turbulence” was no exception. Jake Weston is a senior captain for Elite Airways and he is none too happy about it either and makes his feelings towards the company very clear. The meetings he has with his colleagues throughout the book made me laugh. I loved his arrogant yet sarcastic comments and remarks and how he never held back and told people exactly what he thought.

"This man was the utter definition of perfection, the very template of living, breathing, sex."

Gillian Taylor is such a complex character to me, which I absolutely loved. She is a young woman who is trying to make her mark on the world and to survive in New York. She is a writer/domestic engineer/air hostess/blogger. She made some decisions which were quite cringe worthy to me, especially her first meeting with Jake. I knew what was coming, but I still found it absolutely amazing. Gillian is a constant disappointment to her family and they are not shy in expressing their disappointment. They tell her constantly, which is why it is no surprise that she avoids any possible interaction with them. I actually found them to be horrible and felt they treated her terribly. She was definitely the black sheep of the family.



Jake and Gillian’s relationship was quite a turbulent one (no pun intended). I would even classify it as quite toxic and harmful. There was definitely a lack of trust and communication which added to all the arguments and hurtful exchanges between the two. But putting that aside they had an extremely intense attraction to each other which just about jumped off the pages. Elite Airways has a very strict no fraternizing clause which made for a very bumpy ride.

As I was reading this story I was drawn into and invested in these two messed up characters until the very end. Underneath all the anger, secrets and mistrust there was something so profound and beautiful. I would most definitely recommend “Turbulent” to anyone who is a fan of a forbidden love story involving a tortured, brooding, sexy and cocky alpha male and a strong heroine with a smart mouth who is unafraid to achieve her every desire.
