Siege and Storm (GrishaVerse, #2)

“There are no others like us, Alina. And there never will be.”
3.5 ⭐️
Though I am enjoying this series, I’m not finding them to be as amazing as all the hype makes them seem.
Alina has taken her place as the leader of the 2nd army, and preparations are under way to go to war against The Darkling.
Meanwhile, Mal is feeling less and less useful, and constantly jealous of other men who speak to Alina. This girl is supposedly ‘plain looking’ yet at one point she has 4 different men after her?! Like seriously! Why?! It’s just not necessary IMO.
I enjoy reading about the different types of Grisha and Alina’s growth with her powers.
Overall I will read the last book just to see what happens, but I’m not particularly bothered with this one. Maybe because I’m getting tired of the whole “plain girl with special powers is the only one able to save the world. Oh and everyone fancies her.” Of course this isn’t the books fault, just that I’ve read a lot like that and this one seems like just another to add to the pile.
“You know the problem with heroes and saints...they always end up dead.”

I got a kick out of your review. But did I detect a bit of jealousy here? I am sure that you pretty girls have special powers too. :)Besides, those four dudes chasing the 'plain looking' girl are just looking for a free meal.

Not gonna lie. I honestly have no idea how to reply to your comment. Am I jealous of a fictional character? No. I didn't like the description of the character being plain when everything else points to the contrary.

I completely agree... I felt the same way throughout the end of the series! I much preferred Six of Crows
@Darce: I still have book 3 to read, though I’m not that excited about it. I definitely preferred six of Crows as well!
I DNF book 3, I started it and then gave up. The series just deflated for me.
Have you heard that book 3 of Six of Crows is coming out 2019? So excited!
