Daisy Jones & The Six

i finally got my hands on the audio of this and it is everything i thought it would be - the authenticity, the intrigue, the drama, the rock n’ roll, the emotion. this is a masterpiece and the six are the life and soul of this story. i CANNOT wait for the day when their songs become streamable on spotify.

there has been some sort of mistake. this book is labelled as fiction, but that cant be right. there is no way these people arent real and nothing you say will convince me otherwise. daisy jones & the six were the greatest rock ’n roll band of the 70s and thats the tea, henny.
but in all seriousness. TJR is taking this genre of faux-biographies/interviews and really making it a thing; but more specifically, her thing. between this and ‘the seven husbands of evelyn hugo,’ there is proof that fiction will forever be more appealing than nonfiction. no real life event could be told like the way TJR tells her stories. i am just in awe of her capabilities as an author.
‘daisy jones & the six’ is so unique, so edgy, so sexy, so daring, so raw. its everything i could want and hope for from a story about a rock ’n roll band. and if i had such an amazing experience reading this, i cant even imagine what listening to the audiobook will be like (i kind of wish i had done that first, just because of how the story is presented as a compilation of commentary from interviews) - its gonna blow my tiny little mind! i honestly cant wait!

This review made me pick up the book when I was feeling as if I’d stopped loving reading. Thanks so much, I love it!
I just picke this book up from a library hold! I've heard a mix of good and bad but it's been 80/20 good. People seem to either really like it or really hate it. No in between.
i can see people not really enjoying the format of the book - its all excerpts of dialogue from interviews. so i can see people not really connecting with the story because of that. but i really hope you enjoy it!! happy reading!
So glad you loved the audiobook. I think the reason that I gave this book a full rating was because of the audiobook. And there actually is a song list on spotify dedicated to this book, but not the songs that were written in the book. I also do wish they release the real songs, that'd be amazing. :)
javelyn - thank you!! really happy to hear you feel the same!! :)
sylvie - yes! ive actually listened to that playlist! and i know reese witherspoon is producing a series for this, so i am really looking forward to seeing what they do with the music!

I listened to this via the audiobook and I LOVED it. I really felt like I was listening to a documentary about a band.
anna - right?! i felt the same way. i kept thinking, "wow. i really wish there was video to accompany this interview." i cant wait for the series to be produced!
sarah - i totally agree!

chris - yesss! do it! it makes the story that much more amazing!
shawn - yeah, if im not mistaken, fleetwood mac were heavy influencers when she was writing this!

I read the book and just flew through it. Having been in my 20's in late 70's, it brought back so many memories. After seeing that the audio version has multiple readers and music, I'm going to experience it again.
I was sucked in right away. Started it on a Saturday, finished consuming it the next day. Great characters and format; was like watching an episode of "E! Behind the Music."
Thanks for the tip. I'm sure you're aware of the Reese Witherspoon/Amazon project - [https://deadline.com/tag/daisy-jones-...].
