While it isn't the most necessary, this is one of the few one of there "let's make another *insert popular series here* book" that doesn't make me go "ugh another one of these" since Suzanne Collins hasn't written anything since it makes sense that she would return to this world

Oh no!!!! I had no idea that was even a possibility! I guess with the limited printing capabilities right now it's affected the pre-orders. :(

I’m listening to it on Audible. I’m enjoying it immensely but I foresee massive disappointment—it’s a slow-paced journey versus the tight-paced ride Collins has given in the past. I can’t imagine a movie unless screenwriters underwent massive structural changes, an amazing cast was rounded up, and the actor playing Lucy would have to sing her ass off.

Ah that's understandable. I've had a rocky start with this one, but I'm hoping I can push through and at least fall in the 3 star range.

I’m 100 pages in and feeling the same. I have so many good books in my TBR pile, it’s hard not to put it down and pick up something else

Well that’s a bummer. Is it at least fast-paced? The audiobook is free (!?!) on Hoopla right now so I’m wondering whether I should go that route or wait to get a physical copy.

I think it could have been the fact that I'm just more excited for anything over a Snow prequel, but I wanted to give it a shot before it got spoiled for me. Also, I enjoyed the Hunger Games but I'm not a diehard, so that was probably part of it too.

Chelsea, I'm so sorry this one didn't rate high for you! I keep seeing mediocre reviews for this and it's disappointing. :( I'll still check it out, curiousity is piqued....but I'll definitely set my expectations low.
