I have read many reviews and have learnt 3 things that helped me to make my mind up about this book. Let me share them with you.
*********************************************
1.
After their road trip together, there is a separation between the hero and the heroine during which she continues to see her ex, giving him another chance. Actually this ex boyfriend dumped her before she met the hero. This is something I hate in a romance book. If someone dumped you, you don't give him a second chance - period.
And because of that separation, the intimacy and sexy times between the hero and heroine only begin towards the end of the book (appr. 80%).
*********************************************
2.
Also, the hero turns out to be her ex boyfriend's best friend!!! How stupid is that? How come she never heard about him or met him in their 3-year relationship?
*********************************************
3.
And lastly, what's these writers' obsession with fortune tellers? They butchered their novel Playboy Pilot with the fortune teller theme but I guess it wasn't enough that Playboy Pilot became an object of ridicule because of it since they are now doing the same thing here once again! Well, I guess they really have a silly formula in their hands.
*********************************************
Well then, I have made my mind up. Not reading it. Nothing about it sounds appealing any more. I will try to remember these writers with their better works such as Cocky Bastard.
*********************************************
Addition:
I have just been talking to my friend Carol and I have learnt that there is something else that would bother most readers:
The hero has a dead ex and not only he still suffers from his loss, he also feels guilty about it.
*********************************************

Oh I’m not holding my breath but I’m getting cocky vibes here so I will be trying. 😝

Considering who the authors are the H probably got OW pregnant during that time lol. But hopefully Nova is right and this is more like Cocky Bastard with a great hero like Chance.

Oh I hope it has the charm of Cocky Bastard but I am not sure if they can create another Chase :( Still, I am not saying no, but I will be waiting... Your reaction can help me to decide, Nova...

Exactly. I fear that something that will drive me crazy will happen in those 3 months... Let's hope not and it turns out to be another gem like The Cocky Bastard...

Dilek, I kinda gave up on these two a few years back. Their heroines are insipid. But even if that weren't the case you know what would put me off this book? The cover - lol! I am so repulsed by beardy, hairy men 🤣
Seems like from a review there is a love triangle. But remember cocky had one too. LOL so I’m okay with that.
I feel like Vi keeland cools Penelope ward down in their duo books bc she LOVE LOVE LOVEs her unsafe themes and for her male hero’s to fuck every woman on earth.
I kinda agree with Ellie and Nova. I used to LOVE these two but they keep repeating the same formula of writing that went to angst to icky real fast. After reading Rebel Heir, I was so disgusted by the regurgitation of Room Hate, that I have barely read any of their work. I hate love triangles, pregnancies outside the relationships and sheer stupidity in my characters. Lately, that’s all the seem to produce.

Perhaps... I personally like their individual works more than their collaborate ones...

I avoided Rebel Heir but I read Room Hate and hated that book! It is one of the worst books of Ms Ward if you ask me...
Cocky Bastard, Neighbor Dearest and All Grown Up are some of the good ones. I loved those books.
However, I agree that they need to change their formula because they all started to sound alike.

thank god ...I didn't read past 33%....when they are still on a road trip as that would have sent me over the edge!!!!!

Nope, you made a good call, Carol. From the reviews I have read, I understood that it gets more and more boring and also frustrating in many ways.

I agree with Dilek. These two use a very specific formula for writing that used to work, but is so repetitive that it is no longer enjoyable or believable. A surprise “twist” is not a a surprise if you’re expecting it. This duo used to be on my “Must Read” but I stopped reading since the Rebel series. The reviews on the books that have followed have not made me regret that decision.

Right, Kors Chick, and it is so sad to see that writers whose work you once loved now produce works that are not even mediocre but frustrating or boring (or both)...

Always with the dead ex or ex who’s alive but not in present MCs life but still haunts them. These authors are obsessed with this.

Yeah, enough of that already :((((

These authors are obsessed with dead exes, cheating, ex drama.. they really need to come up with different storylines. It’s so repetitive and just boring.

I’m 13% in and I’ve already discovered a few things that irk me. This review kind of helped me decide to go ahead and give up. I might go back to it later, but I’m just completely uninterested.
Homie is an art teacher, but evidently makes enough that he can throw money at people to get what he wants and buy her, someone he met 12 hours ago expensive ski gear.
LOL, ok.

Happy to help, Owl Reads. The things I have listed above caused me to lose my interest in the book, too.
