i don’t have much to say, it’s giving no thoughts head empty😭. but I’m mixed on how to feel about this first book overall. i think the characters are so good and really were the standouts in this story, but I found the pacing and politics to drag a lot; especially in the beginning. i was living for how messy the familial drama was though and i can definitely see the potential for the future books to be even better than this one. the use of jade and how it’s basically like a drug that can overpower it’s user when not properly handled was so interesting too. Hilo is probably my favorite character since he’s so reactive and unpredictable, but I’m also very invested in Anden’s storyline as well cause i need to know what’s gonna happen with him and Hilo’s dynamic👀☕️. the audiobook was great btw and i liked the narrator’s delivery a lot!
↬ also, special shout out to Hilo for having such a cute name that i ended up eventually giving it to my dog after hearing about his character years ago lol💚.
