Short and sweet

3.5 stars
This is a quick read and builds off of the other books in the series. It’s not required to read the first 2, but it might help with understanding the context and backgrounds of the main heroine.
Zoe is in school to be a chef but is aware that she is not worldly. She has the gift is sight and knows her “soulmate” is out there and refuses to waste her time on anyone else. However, what is she to do when she finally meets him and has to play it cool?
Rashaad is in town for a short gig before he moves in to the next town. He’s not expecting to meet someone like Zoe after eschewing relationships all this time. He’s a musician who has no issues finding companionship, but he can tell Zoe is different.
How these 2 navigate their possible relationship makes for a good read. You definitely empathize with Zoe knowing he’s the one but not wanting to scare him off by explaining how she’s so certain. You also understand where Rashaad is coming from as he’s a talented musician who’s not sure he’ll ever be ready to settle down.
Zoe and Rashaad were cute together and I blazed through this book to finish it in a day!
