Not the same plot, but the same issues but 10 times worse because it's a novella. 😭

Layla, I have been trying to figure out which Star Wars characters she is using for all of them without actually reading them. I just can't bring myself to do it. I think there is only one I haven't figured out. The fanfic to novel thing really needs to stop in general. I can't unsee it and I can't accept the stories for what they are, especially if they aren't very good.

Oh for sure, I 100%, agree, I just am not a big fan of fanfic being published (especially if it's based on real people). I just find it a bit weird. It's especially weird with authors like this one who I gave the benefit of the doubt the first time, but have now proved time and time again that they lack originality.

Regardless of who they are based on, each and every one of her characters feel like the same person. 😭

Well...I have read 4 of her books, and a lot of the Shadowhunter books, so I don't think it's my place to comment either way. 😂 But I will say that I understand your sentiment. I do wish authors with this level of popularity would venture out and take risks instead of continuing to write books the same as their original in order to replicate the success of it. I think I have given this author enough chances to see if my enjoyment of the TLH was a fluke or not, and I will no longer be reading from her. It makes no sense for me to do so knowing I will most likely dislike it. I've done that in the past, but have been trying my best this year to avoid doing that.

Agreed with above @Layla, i had her next two books on hold at the library but have removed then from my lists to free up space for books I will hopefully enjoy!
I've only liked one of the three books of hers I've read and I think that was a right time/right place read as it was still far from a perfect...so methinks she is not the author for me and I shall mosey on and read others instead 🤗

Exactly. There are many better books for me out there. This author's books have an audience, and it clearly isn't me. Like you said, I think I just read TLH at the right time, and had a read it any other time, I would have disliked it like I did with the novellas.
